Ruco Chan in "A Kindred Spirit"

Ruco Chan and Hawick Lau both graduated from TVB's 1994 Acting Class. The first series that I watched Ruco in was "To Love with Love", where he played Nadia Chan's younger brother.

In "A Kindred Spirit", Ruco played Hawick's friend, who went on a trip with him. When Hawick's character, On Jai, first appeared in the sixth episode of the series, I initially thought that Ruco was the one who was playing Cha Siu Bing's youngest son. Later, I found out that Lau Dan and Hawick are father and son in real life.

Tavia Yeung Sleeping on Ron Ng's Shoulder

ron_tavia

Date: July 17th, 2003
Location: On a bus at Lantau Island

Before departing to Mainland for the filming of "Twin of Brothers", the entire cast went to pray at Lantau Island.

Originally, Ron and Raymond Lam were sitting together on the bus, while Tavia was sitting with Nancy Wu. When the bus was departing, Ron and Tavia were sitting together, while Tavia is sleeping on Ron's shoulder.

Personal Note: I posted this picture of Ron and Tavia on Weibo yesterday, and received a lot feedback on it. :D So sweet!

Absolutely love Ron and Tavia! :D

"The Heaven Sword & the Dragon Sabre 2000" Team vs. "On the Track or Off" Team

CREDIT IF REPOSTED

Guests:
Lawrence Ng, Gigi Lai, Eddie Cheung, Ada Choi, Steven Ma, and Shek Sau.

In this segment of Lydia Shum's 2001 game show "Happy Family Flagship (Sr. 3)", the guests had to use their brains to calculate how much banana needed to be eaten so that a weight of 100 grams was left. The guys were allowed to have one bite, while the girls were allowed to have two bites. The guest with the banana closest to 100 grams would be the winner.

Personal Note: Love Ada's reaction! :D

"A Kindred Spirit" Live Finale

"A Kindred Spirit" started filming on May 1, 1995, and the set was taken down on October 1, 1999. It currently holds the record for being the longest running TVB sitcom at 1128 episodes.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5

Part 6

For the most part, I did enjoy watching the series. It brought me tears and laughter, even though there were times when it was lame, cheesy, and way out of reality. :D

Bernice Liu @ K-100 (2001)

The first K-100 clip of Bernice as she enters TVB to become an artiste. Bernice talks about filming her very first ancient sitcom ("Virtues of Harmony").

After 9 years of entering TVB, Chinese is something Bernice is still working on. Add oil, Bernice! :)

索男陳豪 & Energizer Bobby Au Yeung

Joe Ma, Michael Tong, and Moses Chan on Lydia Shum's 2001 game show "Happy Family Flagship (Sr. 3)".

The purpose of the game is to pick up blotting paper with the suction of the nose and then place them in a bowl.

Moses Chan sets the record with 15 blotting papers.

Bobby Au Yeung then breaks Moses' record with 17 blotting papers on the next episode. He keeps going and going!

Personal Note: Love Bobby and Moses! :D

Stash - 1993 TVB 26th Anniversary Skit

My favourite skit from 1993 TVB's 26th Anniversary. The entire cast in this skit was walking on stumps the entire time...well, all except James Wong.

There are too many hilarious parts in this skit to list. It is definitely a must-watch to enjoy all the laughs! :D

Stash - 'Almond Plus Orange'

This is one of the most classic and memorable TVB's anniversary skits ever! This skit took place at TVB's 28th Anniversary. It is the one where Andy Lau used 'coarse language'. Later, TVB placed Andy in the 'freezer' because of 'almond colour plus orange colour plus a shovelling action'.

He didn't even say it; all he said was 'almond plus orange'.

Steven Ma's Singing Imitations

Steven Ma went on "Jade Solid Gold" in 1999, and showed off his voice talents, as he imitated George Lam, Andy Lau, and Adam Cheng.

似夢迷離 - George Lam
真永遠 - Andy Lau
笑看風雲 - Adam Cheng

Steven's imitations are up to par with Wong Cho Lam and Johnson Lee. :) However, Steven can't hold in his laughs. :D

Autographed Pictures from Bowie Lam

Here are two autograph pictures I received from Bowie in 2001. I was a big fan of Bowie's from 1997 to 2002 because of his onscreen partnership with Flora Chan. I've become neutral toward Bowie from 2003 to present.

CIMG4812CIMG4815

Back in 2001, Bowie was known, but he wasn't as famous compared to now, so I guess he had time to read his fan mail; however, Bowie states that he would still read fan mail (e-mail/messages) when he has time.

A Blast from the Past: Wong He & Bowie Lam

This picture was from 1999 or 2001, and He and Bowie seemed liked friends back then. He and Bowie were rumoured to have had disagreements with each other while hosting TVB's variety programme 《江山美人》 in 2006.

He started to change the dialogue in the scripts since his first series, "Nothing to Declare". He first discusses it with the director or the producer; if they "okay" it, then the script is changed. However, He stopped his habit from "Fathers and Sons" and on.

I don't know, but Virginia Lok referred to He as 'troublesome' (麻煩) when they had only met once.

麻煩 or not, I still think He changes the script for the better.

P.S. He and Bowie's foreheads were very shiny! Ha ha....

Ada Choi - Past Moiselle Ads

CIMG4681CIMG4682CIMG4683CIMG4686CIMG4688CIMG4690CIMG4691CIMG4692CIMG4696CIMG4698CIMG4700CIMG4703CIMG4706CIMG4708CIMG4709CIMG4710CIMG4712CIMG4714CIMG4716CIMG4723CIMG4766

Ada was the spokesperson for Moiselle, I believe, starting in 2001 to 2006. Here are some old Moiselle ads of Ada. In 2005, Gigi Lai also became a spokesperson for Moiselle. Gigi was the model for spring/summer, while Ada was the model for fall/winter. In 2007, Moiselle only used Gigi as the spokesperson of their brand.

Miss Hong Kong Pageant 1993

This poster of 1993's Miss HK was an ad for Acuvue Contact Lenses. Mariane Chan's picture looks kind of weird, but she won 最美麗相中人 ('Most Beautiful Picture Person').

Kenix Kwok won the awards for 'Media Favourite' and 'Most Acting Potential'.

The number two contestant's name is Li Si Wan (李詩韻)!

FYI: TVB didn't have the 'Miss Photogenic' award in 1993. TVB only had the award for 'Most Acting Potential' in 1993 and 1994. Kenix presented the award to Maggie Cheung in 1994.
