Birthday Party - Get Inspired Magazine - Issue 5 Sketch Challenge

Today I would like to share the layout that I have created for Let's Get Inspired - Issue 5 sketch challenge.

I choose to use a photo from my Mom's 86th Birthday Party.

And some closeups....

I fussy cut the border at the top from the Fancy Pants ME-ology paper and added pearl stickers from Michaels.

I painted the ScrapMatts chipboard with acrylic paint and layered it up with Fancy Pants embellies and Prima bling.

I used my We R Memory Keepers sew stamper to create my background circle. The XOXO and hearts were just perfect.

My title was created with Petals & Possibilities scrap metal word and Heidi Swapp stickers.

Here is the sketch....

You have until October 1st to submit your layout.

I was also inspired by Beyond Grey Challenges to use the colour palette and a chipboard item.

OFF TO SCHOOL

Today is the first day of school. Although I had to work today, I am so very lucky as my "daughter-in-law" emailed me pictures at work of the boys on their way to the bus. It put a huge smile of my face!!!

I came right home and made this layout....

Aren't they just adorable???

Here are some closeups.....

I used Fancy Pants - Off to School paper line and embellies. The brads are American Crafts - Elements and the eyelets are Recollections.

I used the sketch from The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #24 for my layout.

I was also inspired by Use Your Stuff Challenge #151 to use brads;
and Catherine & Cathy Create Challenge CCC #043 to use primary colours;
and Pat's Challenge at Sketches 4 All September Challenge - Back to School;
and the color challenge at Color Me Scrappy #69 and the twist to use lined paper;

and S.W.A.T. Drill # 39 to use primary colours.

The boys called when I got home from work to report that they both had a wonderful first day of school. It was so wonderful to hear their excitement!! I hope everyone's little ones had such fabulous days!

Stay crafty!

This Makes Me Smile

As I am up early this morning, I was going through my backlog of emails and I came across an awesome sketch that I knew I wanted to try out.

Here is my layout....

I used Project Life - Becky Higgins - Honey Edition by Lori Whitlock adding some embellies from Maya Road and My Mind's Eye, and stickers by Bo Bunny. I also spritzed some Mister Huey's Color Mists in Amarillo Taxi and Letter Jacket to the white Core'dinations cardstock.

This layout went together so quickly, I will be using this sketch again and again.

True Love - Stuck?September 1st DT Reveal

I would like to start out by congratulating Laura Whittaker on the first Anniversary of owning Stuck? Sketches. I have been on the design team for nearly a year and it has been a blast to work with Laura. Now on with the celebration....check out the Stuck? Sketches Blog all month long for this special event.

For the September 1st sketch, Scrapmatts sent the design team some of their awesome chipboard items for us to use on our sketches. The heart shaped pieces were just perfect for my special wedding layout!

I am honoured to be able to scrap this layout of this remarkable young couple. Thanks Amanda & Mike....and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Here are some closeups....

The title is from Heidi Swapp.

I painted the Scrapmatts chipboard with burgandy craft paint to match the car in the background of the photo.

I used a delicate thin die to cut out the leafy accents and added some pink pearls from my stash.

I added some burgandy paint to the Recollection flowers to tie in the colours. The bird cage is Momenta.

The white pearls where leftover from a canvas I created a while back. They went well with Amanda's necklace.

The white feather tucked in the back of the cluster is from Dazzle It.

The papers are from a paper stack that I have had for a while now from MME - Garden Vignettes. These papers gave an excellent backdrop to the gorgeous couple!

Here is Laura's fabulous sketch....

Be sure to stop by Stuck? Sketches all month long to join in the celebration!!!

Thanks Scrapmatts for the fabulous chipboard pieces!

I was also inspired by Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #15 to use flowers.

Remember....True Love lasts forever!!! XOXOXO
