Sizzix

I am teaching two card making classes with An Siopa Bui soon and one of the classes is using Sizzix dies, these three cards are among the sample cards I have made showing how to build up, add colour and achieve different looks from the same die cuts.

Scrapwest " Shopping "

The Scrapwest theme this week was set by Noelle and is " Shopping" Drop over and have a look at all the great submissions ( Click the logo on the left) I love this image and think it say's it all.

Daring Cardmakers challenge.

The rules for the DCM Challenge this week are set by Lythan : Three die cuts had to be used . "If you don't have access to die cuts in any shape or from, you can still play along. You can then use punches. And if you don't have punches then you can do hand cutting ". I used the sizzix sweet small die to make the lollipops which I glazed with diamond glaze to give a lovely shine ,a sizzlet die for the flowers and a punched embossed label. DCM "Frills"

Another girlie card , this time for the Daring cardmakers challenge which was set by Jo and the theme is frills (quote) it could be some lace, frilly ribbon, a hand cut or decorative scissor edge or a folded paper frill - or what ever you choose to make."

I love this little dress I got from Kellys paper crafts ages ago ( hanger was separate) and the beautiful embossed paper from Annamarie at The Scrapbook store. The flowers are a sizzix sizzlets die.

Bumbleberry card challenge.

I made this card for a Challenge on the " Bumbleberry Cafe " forum set by Rachel. I had to use the same colour tones using at least three different papers and at least three buttons.

Daring Cardmakers " Pockets "

I decided to take up the Daring cardmakers challenge today. The dare set for this week was " POCKETS " and this is what I came up with.

Scrapwest " Tag"

The theme for Scrapwest this week was " Tags" and set by Annamarie.I wanted to submit something bright So went for a simple red and white Sizzix tag, stamped with a teddy image I have had years. It is one of those images that can be used over and over again and never Goes out of fashion. I finished the card off with paper flowers , gems dotty ribbons and a swirl die cut.

Paper flower

I bought this Ellison flower die months ago but never used it, so today I thought I would give it a try and here is the result.Not sure what it could be used for ? maybe a table display or a box? The finished flower is about 4 1/2 by 4 1/2. I made the centre with wire and beads.

Just for fun

I loved making these cards after a sizzix class at Crafteire 06, I have so many sizzix dies, I must start using them again, everyone loves the little bees/butterflies especially children and of course there is the pint of Guinness Bee for all the men .Like everything else we keep buying ns and forget what we already have. There are so many new die cut machines out there now to choose from but I think if you have invested in one its better to try to get the most out of the one you have as it is expensive to build up your collection. And like everything else , no matter which one you choose there is always a "newer model " on the way .
