Our FOURTH OF JULY was spent participating in the most appropriately patriotic activities:
BBQ WITH FRIENDS
Where Justin learned how to cook Josh's famous ribs. Mouths begin watering at the very mention of those ribs. Now if only we had an actual grill and not a tiny excuse for a grill......
ATTENDED MEMPHIS REDBIRD'S BASEBALL GAME
Us and a bunch of other families got great seats on the bluff- right in front! The Redbirds played an exciting game topped off with a game-winning home run. BUT I had no idea because I was either chatting the night away or chasing Hayden and all the other kids. One of these times I will actually watch the baseball game and pay attention. Maybe.
WATCHED FIREWORKS AT THE END OF THE GAME
Fireworks! What could be better than fireworks? Well, having a child who isn't terrified of them could have made it more enjoyable. Oh, and the shower of ash and embers that landed on all of us from being TOO CLOSE to the fireworks was quite the experience! So much for the great seats on the bluff. Sadly this did NOT help us in our efforts to convince Hayden that fireworks are fun and cool. Poor kid is going to be terrified for the rest of his life.
But honestly, we were all laughing our heads off as we had to duck for cover from the embers and ash that was falling around us. Good times! Good times!
Good Food - Good Friends - Good Game - Good/Scary Fireworks
Great time!!!!!
