Goin' home (post 3 of many)

MORE PICTURES!

Our first family picture with our new addition before leaving the hospital!

First time in her carseat...it swallows her up!The first week at home was very easy going (except for Jacob's tantrums). Jack was able to take that week off to help me out at home with the boys. The boys absolutely ADORE Katy and we have to constantly tell them to leave her alone because they are always in her face trying to give her kisses or snuggle their faces to hers. She sleeps a ton, and puts her self to sleep most of the time! Her second night was ROUGH...she cried and cried, and had the hardest time with nursing...mom was crying, baby was crying...not fun. But thank goodness there has only been one of those kinds of nights so far.Katy's first visitors when we got home were our wonderful friends Taylor, Teigan, and Beckham (who was too bust crawling around with the boys for a picture) Benson. They were so kind to bring us a delicious dinner so we didn't have to worry about it. Thanks!

So tiny.
I absolutely melt at this smile.

1 week old - Sleeping babies are the cutest.

Visitors! (post 2 of many...)

More pictures!

Besides the boys, Katy's first visitors were Proud Aunt Bekah (they share the same birthday now!) and cousin Clara- born just 21/2 months before Katy (....sorry to take away your tinyness Clara!) A few hours later Aunt Bekah's second trip was with Evan and Allison. Along with the boys, the kids all went a little bonkers in the hospital room and it quickly became a short visit- I think they were just all so excited to meet Katy.
Later in the evening, once all was calm and quiet for me and Katy, my good friend Sherrie
came by to meet her.

Welcome KATY JOY! (post 1 of many!)

She's here, She's here!
6lbs 12oz 19"
Katy Joy made her entrance into this world at the end of July! Labor and Delivery went great and she came into this world as a happy, content, and most importantly, healthy baby girl. The boys could not be more excited to have their new baby sister finally, and simply ADORE her. Jacob can not stop giving her kisses and Tyler can't stop telling her how cute she is.

Even though she nursed like a champ right after birth her blood sugar was still low, so she had to get a bottle... Below is her saying "oh man, I'm full...excuse my mess"

Proud big brothers holding her for the first time!

A Month in Pictures....

Instead of trying to write all about the crazy month of July in our family, I'll just sum it up with pictures....lot's of them!

We got a new camera and have had fun discovering how it works!

Started the Terrible Two's- lot's of tantrums, crying, hitting, (even a bite), and LOT's of "NO! ME!"- bad timing little dude, bad timing. but that's okay, we still love you.

We got a suprise visit from some old friends from Tucson-

I just happened to come downstairs after getting ready for the day and checked my Facebook page and found a message from Sunday telling me they were coming through Omaha very soon and wanted me to call them so they could stop by. So I called them and they were within minutes of passing our exit, I then called Jack and told him to take an early lunch and come home so he could see them too. We used to play games with the Meservy family quite often, and were also Jon's Sunbeam (3 yr olds) teachers at church.I am SOOO glad we were able to visit with them for just a little bit, we have missed them dearly since we all went seperate ways from Tucson.

I discovered that the amazing zoom on our new camera makes for a great set of makeshift binoculars to spy on interesting creatures in our backyard neighbors yard. What is this??

Since it has been SO hot and humid here, walking outside to get the baby to drop just wasn't an option....so I frequented Target and Walmart...and the boys ended up with a few new toys (good thing they were on clearance and under 2 bucks!)

Celebrated Pioneer Day at the Mormon Trail Center/Winter Quarters LDS Temple

Had a couple false alarm trips to the hospital. (not fun. I know this is my third, but hey, what am I supposed to think when I'm having contractions ALL day, that get closer together as time went on???)

I don't have a picture, but we added a new member to our family...not not the baby...a goldfish. His name is Dorothy, named after Elmo's pet goldfish on Elmo's World. The goldfish was received courtesy of the the local public library "Goldfish Race Day"...um...thanks?

Got stitches after hitting a coffee table in just the wrong spot.

Visited with the cousins

Discovered how to say "Knock, Knock" jokes

And of course the Grand Finale of the Month of July......will be in the next post!

Our budding artists...

The boys drew this picture of Jack and I yesterday morning. I love it so much I had to share. I am pretty sure you can guess which one is me.

Our Recent Photo Session

I decided it'd be fun to get some portraits of the family together while I am pregnant since we never have before. They all turned out so great! We also got some update pictures of the boys to replace in our frames at home. Here are some of the best pictures from the shoot at The Picture People (we love that place, they are awesome!)
