into the woods

After 5 hours in the car we made it to the cabin. The kids did pretty good on the car ride.

We got our usual picture on the bridge.

Had a delicious home made outdoor meal!

We were joined by our friends at the Cabin and had a blast throwing rocks and making boats to race down the crick. And Jayben had to wear my shoes because he also decided to test out the crick water! Thanks goodness I have little feet.

We spent some time in West Yellowstone and tracked down my Aunt Verlene.

Went on some awesome hikes and mingled with the wild life.

 Mesa Falls

And we learned that paddle boats are not made for rivers.
And that some kids really sleep in cars and others just pretend to sleep.

Grandma

I looked out the window and what did I see? Grandma Louise playing with all the grand kids on the slide. It was such a sweet moment to capture. Love this unforgettable lady!

so long...

Jayben's good friend, Cristos, and his family moved back to Greece. They lived here for the last 3 years and didn't even speak English when they arrived. But 3 years later and we couldn't get that kid to be quiet for a minute (literally). It was a sad day. We will miss them.

stan lee and soccer

Jayben has had a great year. He played AYSO again and had fun with all his friends. He's starting to get the game so much better and even almost scored some goals!

For his 3rd grade project they did a wax museum. He chose to do Stan Lee. The creator of spiderman and many other super heroes. It was such a fun day.

Runner runner

Ben has done it again. He ran the Ogden Marathon. After last years horrible rain I decided to let him have this race to himself. So, he got up early and headed to the bus.
By the time he hit mile 14 he was texting me that it wasn't going so well. The messages kept coming in
and each one sounded like he wasn't going to finish. I felt so bad. I brought the kids down to the finish and ran back to find him a mile from the finish line. He was able to push through some mild dehydration and completed all 26.2 miles.
A few hours later I was trying to take him into the instacare to get treated for dehydration though.

We are so proud of our running man.
