Hanging out with the nieces and nephews

Dave's sister just had her 4th baby! I went the day she had her baby to of course see the new cute baby Troy and to help Dave's parents. Dave came later that night. The next morning Dave and I took the 3 little kids to the park and lunch. The kids love Dave and he is sooo good with them. Despite what he thinks, he will be a great dad one day!

Dave then had to head back to go to work. The next day I decided to take the 2 older kids to Indiana with me for 2 or so days. They were a lot of fun to have around.

Things we did in good ole' Indiana.....we did watch a bit of T.V. on netflix. There is not a whole lot to do where we live. :)

-Made delicious brownies. You should make them! I found the recipe on ourbestbites.com. I think this link will take you directly there, if not, sorry!

-They brought their bikes so one morning Dave and I took them to a parking lot to ride them around. There isn't really anyplace by our house for them to ride there bikes. I just realized that Lydia has a helmet on but not Dalton...not sure if I should have looked more into this when they were here...

Dave's parents came on Saturday to pick them up. They brought me 2 Uno's deep dish pizzas!!! It was very yummy. We then went to Lake Michigan, I forgot to take my camera, but it was fun. It is a really nice beach.

The kids were really good. They are pretty funny and told me a lot of things I wasn't doing right, things I forgot, and such. It made me smile. I wish I would have wrote down some of the things they said...A few of things I remember are:

-"We don't have enough vegetables with our dinner" (really? I thought kids thought that was a good thing! :) I thought I was doing good given them celery in the first place! I didn't dare tell them I rarely eat vegetables with my dinner...)

-Dave drinks drugs (He drinks Mt.Dew). They told me it was very bad for him. I agreed with them. :)

-They reminded me when we went to the park to put sun screen on them. I was glad they said that. Then I realized I didn't even bring any. Luckily my friend had some that I could use. ( I never thought of that when I was a kid.)

-They told me that it was almost there bedtime. I always fought my parents on not wanting to go to bed! I was okay with this one. They were good but by night I was tired. I don't know how moms do it!

Mckell's Wedding!!!

My cute sister Mckell got married June 10th. It was such a beautiful day. She met an amazing guy who loves her, Jarett, and treats them both so well. It was so hard for me to see what my sister has been through, NOBODY should have to go through what she has. I am so happy she met a wonderful guy. I was so teary eyed the whole day. They got married at a church in Perry and the ceremony was so good, I felt the spirit and knew that Heavenly Father was looking out for her.

The night before the wedding we helped decorate the church. I was pretty much useless. I tried to help iron all the table cloths but when I was done you couldn't tell which ones were ironed and which ones weren't...not a good thing. So I gave up on that task. I then was given a few other tasks and really tried but was unsuccessful. I am sad to say, I am not crafty! I then resorted to keeping Jarrett somewhat entertained and I also took the task of annoying Mckell. I am opinionated and like to tell Mckell what I think at times! I wanted her and Brett to get married on a beach. When she said that wouldn't work I told her to get married outside. She said she didn't want to worry about the weather. I told her to elope in Vegas. She said that they wanted family there, I told her I would come! Well, all my ideas were not well received. So when I got to the church to help (or not help) and saw how nice it looked I felt a little better. I just figured, if your not going to go through the temple (temple divorces weren't cleared yet) my as well go all out! :) Anyway we got talking and she informed me that she was not going to walk down the isle!! What?!? She was going to stand at the front when everyone came in and then have someone say, "We are going to start now." I told her "NO!" pretty much just like that too. She didn't want to have the spotlight and didn't want to make a huge deal since it was the 2nd marriage for both of them. I didn't really care what she thought! :) So as the night went on I suggested that J walks her down the isle so he can be involved. J and I practiced walking and I kept telling him he was going to walk mommy down the isle in the morning. Mckell started to think more about it as the night went on. We then came into the problem of we had no music for her to walk to. I texted my friend and she gave me some great suggestions. I was so appreciative. We listened to them and a bunch of others and we were having a hard time because she didn't want the attention on her too long, the time to walk to the front wasn't long, when do we start and stop the music, how to we splice a song, etc. We went to bed with a few we really liked but no final decision.

The next morning Mckell texted me and said that she just couldn't walk down the isle. I was to tired and said that's fine, I guess it is your wedding after all. :) An hour later she called and said that J woke up and said, "Walk mommy down the isle." and she said she had to do it now. We didn't have a song but her and Brett decided on a John Schmidt song since we wouldn't have to worry about words. It was really nice.

When we got to the church J was a little hyper and all over the place. It took him a bit to settle down and walk down the isle. He did pretty good. Once the ceremony started he was taken out...I think he was a little confused and that is understandable. It was such a nice day! Brett is so good to Jarrett. Jarrett loves Brett!!

Here are a few pictures from the big day!
