Ward surprise baby shower

My new ward is so awesome!  I feel so blessed to be in this ward.  With the amount of time and resources we had when choosing where to live, we are in a great neighborhood and ward.
I told them I didn't need a shower.  I didn't know very many people yet.  They surprised me and threw me a shower.  It really touched me that they cared so much.  It was also a blessing to get so many things I needed.

They played a game where they drew a baby on a plate on their head.

They guessed how big I was by breaking off a piece of a streamer and measuring it up to my belly.

I was SPOILED.  Everyone was so sweet!  I look stupid in just about every pic!

Time out for women

Three weeks before I had Dax I went to Time Out For Women with a few ladies in my ward.  I was nervous about going since I was so large and uncomfortable.  I am grateful that I went.  The girls are so nice and the messages at the conference were very uplifting.

It was in Long Beach so we went down Friday afternoon.  They had a few speakers that night.  The hotel we stayed at ended up being a little rough.  Eudilla ended up with a cockroach on her arm in the night!  We got the night for free but didn't get a lot of sleep.

The next morning we grab smoothies on the way.  The speakers were very good.  We went to lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen.  They took forever.  We ended up getting our lunch for free!  We did miss a speaker in the process.

In between the last speaker I went to the bathroom.  A lady stopped me and said that she is a nurse.  She said that my feet were very concerning.   She said that she thinks I had preclampsia and there are serious complications with it.  My feet and legs got HUGE while I was pregnant.  I wasn't concerned at first but then she kept telling me how dangerous it could be.  She told me to call the doctor.  The office was closed but they have an answering service.  They told me to go to the ER.  I didn't feel that was necessary.  When I got home that evening, Dave gave me a blessing and it made me feel calm.  The lady was sweet but it sure scared me.

It was good to get to know new friends better.  It helped with the homesickness.

Front door scare

In the middle of the night out alarm went off.  We didn't really know what was going on at first.  We then realized it was the alarm and saw the front door open.  Dave then tried to run back in the room and put clothes on over his garments!  I freaked out, I told him to get downstairs, if there was someone in his house I didn't care if he was in his garments ha ha.
We then realized it was the wind and the door wasn't bolted very well.  It was very scary.  Our neighborhood is pretty good but the city we live in isn't a very nice place overall.  I don't think I slept well for a few days after this!

J comes to visit

Jake and Joyce took J to California.  They were so kind and brought some of our things that we left in Utah like our Barbeque and a few other odds and ends.  They stayed the first night at our house.
They went to Disneyland.  When Jake went to Six Flags I was able to get J and hang out with him for the day!!!  I was in heaven.

Pics Mckell sent me of J in Disneyland.

J loved going to the beach

J LOVES Cars.  He was showing me how to play cars when I was getting ready.

We then went to Chuck E Cheese.  He had a fun time trying everything out.

We met up with Dave at Apollo Park and fed the ducks.

We had so much fun playing for the day.  It was so hard to say good bye. :(

Jemma's blessing

One of the hardest thing about living in California is not being able to be with family for special occasions.  I am so happy that Mindy sends me lots of pictures and videos.

She is so beautiful!
