Happy 2nd Anniversary Tiddly Inks!  You will always hold a special place in my heart!  Thanks to your amazing digi stamps...I found a new passion in me.  I've also met some of the most amazing and talented crafters through you...many of which I consider to be friends.  So, thank you!

Although, I haven't colored with my Copics in quite some time (it seems)...I strongly wanted to color today...so I picked one of your adorable images and went to town.  It felt so good to make something again!  So this is in honor of you Christy and Tiddly Inks!  This Jedi loves ya!  =D

23 March 2012
For years now (even long before The Scrapcave existed) I wanted to make a scrapbook layout dedicated to my favorite music group...the Beastie Boys.  I have loved them since 1986.  I remember singing Paul Revere on the school bus when I was in 4th grade.  As I grew up...they continued making amazing music that always inspired me in one way or another.  When I was pregnant with Korbin in 1995...I became addicted to Licensed to Ill all over again (listened to it every day) and I'm surprised that Korbin didn't come out rapping.

Well, I saw a post today on facebook from Scrapbookgraphics (Studio Girls) that linked me to THIS POST about your musical inspiration.  I finally decided that if I had to stay up all night...which I have...I would finish this page.  And, I did!  Here is what I came up with.

I made the background text (which is all of the Beastie Boys song names repeated) and the "labels" (the gray are their album names and years and the black is my journaling...which I expand on below) in Photoshop Elements.  The ticket is my ticket stub from that night scanned it.  The cityscape, hearts, and mix tape images are from Designs by Sarah purchased HERE .

To continue my Beastie's story...

How lucky was I when I met my wonderful hubby and discovered that not only did we like the same type of music (mostly alternative and hard rock) but his favorite band was also the Beastie Boys!

Hubby and I were married in February of 2004 and in October of that year...I went to my first (and only, so far) Beastie Boys concert in Tampa, FL.  I had been to many other concerts prior to this and didn't expect much more than what I got at those...being far away and not being able to see the stage well.  Little did I know that this night would end up being one of the ultimate best nights of my life!  We left fairly early that day (as we lived almost 2 hours away) and we ended up making great time and getting there quite early.  Since it was general admission...we walked right up to the front row, center stage!  I couldn't believe it.  And, trust me it was so worth it!  I mean this is my favorite group!  Throughout my life I've had a slight obsession about each of the Beasties.  When I was younger it was Ad Rock, when I was in high school it was Mike D, and by the time I went to the concert it was MCA.

The main things that happened the night of this concert was that as I was singing along to "Shake Your Rump"...I wasn't really thinking...just singing and having a great time...kind of dancing (the best I could for being in the front row) and I was singing the part where it says "Is your name Michael Diamond..." I looking right at Mike D as I'm singing it and I'm pointing at him as if I'm asking him that question and he is looking at ME doing this and he points at me, smiles, and sings "Nah...mine's Clarence".  I partially melted, kind of fell back, and my friends started yelling "OMG...did you see that!!!" as they are grabbing my shoulders and I'm like "Yaaaaaaa..."

So, as if that wasn't AMAZING...later in the show...my superstar idol, MCA jumps off stage right in front of us (but a little to the right), walks up to Jason and shakes Jason's hand, then mine, then our friend's, and then down the line for a bit.  I'm sure Jason's NY hat had something to do with that...but OMG!!!  I just shook hands with MCA!!!

That concludes the story of my best night ever (beside having my son and marry Jason)!

To this day, I still listen to my Beastie Boys on a regular basis...I smile, sing out loud, dance, feel the words, get inspired, and laugh at their awesome videos.  Thanks for years and years of memories guys...and many more to come!

I could write about them longer...probably for days...but it's 1:30am and I need to get to bed before Korbin has to get up for school tomorrow.  lol

05 February 2012
Hey everyone!

Well I've had a pretty productive crafty day today!  I am SO not a football fan but I try to stomach it enough to watch the Super Bowl every year.  Honestly...I just really want to see the funny commercials and the half time show.  hehehe...  Hubby moved a tv in to the Scrapcave a couple of weeks ago so I am "watching" (more like listening) to it while I work on some cards.  I do pause to watch the commercials.  How funny is that...I normally can't stand watching commercials on tv (so much so that I normally dvr everything just so I can fast forward through them.)  lol  But here I am now watching a football game just for the commercials.

Anyway, I recently got a freebie from Saturated Canary's blog HERE and she is simply gorgeous!  I did a close up of the image (as she is normally a full body image) and got her colored this morning.  I think she turned out really cute.  I've been struggling with my coloring lately.  I think I just took off too much time last year and feel like I'm re-learning to color.  I guess coloring isn't like riding a bike...

I also had an image already colored from a while back and the papers picked out for it...but I just needed to tape everything down and add a sentiment to it.  So...I finally finished this card too.  This image is by Spesch Designer Stamps and is by Max HERE

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my new cards!

Hi everyone!  Here is a new card I made for Tiddly Inks Challenge #78 that can be found HERE.  This time they have a color challenge and they provide the colors.  I have wanted this digi for a LONG time and I am so happy that I finally bought her!  Her name is Annie's Art and can be found HERE.  Since I love art...it makes sense that I love her!

Well, here she is...

I know the close up of her is a little bit darker but I love it because you can see the sparkles from the Spica pens I used on her!!!  I was also excited to use my new Trendy Twine on my card...it's my first time using twine on a card!

Hope you enjoy!  ~Hugs~

I am adding this project to the "Friends are the Flowers of Life" Blog Hop hosted by Tiddly Inks!  I am not going to write too much as I am short on time at the moment...but please enjoy and check out the others on the Hop!!!

In keeping with the theme...I made this wall art for a friend of mine who just got her own Scrapcave!  Once I finished the layout...I put it in a 12x12 shadowbox frame.  My friend just had her basement finished and had a scrap room put in.  I thought that she might want something to hang on her bare walls...until she finishes decorating.  I used the Wryn New Nest image from Tiddly Inks.  Most of the papers are Bo Bunny.

I plan to pick one comment from my comments on this post to win a little blog candy (it will be a surprise!)  So, be sure to either check back on Sunday or leave me a way to find you.

It's been a long time since I've done a challenge...much less made a card!  I'm trying to start the new year off right!  I used Tiddly Inks new image called Wryn...she can be found HERE along with four other gorgeous versions of her.  I am entering my card in to the Tiddly Inks Challenge #77 called "Celebrate" and you can find this challenge HERE.

I made my card pretty simple, mainly because I think the image is so adorable that I wanted it to stand out.  I also got to use my new Christmas present for the first time...my Zutter Distrezz-it-all!

Copics used: BG10, 11, 32, 34; YG0000; G21, 24; C1, 3; E50, 51; RV91, 93, 95 and I used my Copic Spica glitter pens for some sparkle!

My BG34 was being a bad marker and gushed a little blob on her dress.  I barely touched my marker to my paper and it just gushed out.  I've had this happen with a couple of markers now and wondered if there were something wrong with the nibs (tips) on those markers.  Well, I just posted this photo on the Copic Marker facebook page and both the lovely Melissa (from the Tiddly Inks DT) and the Copic Marker people said that it may be from pressure built up in the marker.  The Copic Marker people also said it may be from over-filling the marker...but in my case...I've never refilled them.  They both advised me to take both caps off both ends and lay it flat for a little bit...then put the caps back on.  That helps relieve the pressure.  So, I just thought I would share this with you in case you have ever had this happen and didn't know why or what to do about it.  I ended up just coloring in the rest of the dress and drawing on some little stitch marks...to make it look like a patch on the dress.

Thanks for looking!

Just wanted to share pics of my new Copic holder that Jason made!  He is the BEST!

I LOVE IT!!!  My Copic's are finally OFF my tables!  But I can always pull them off the wall if I want to and put them back on my tables!  I also plan to make a carrying case...so if I ever want to take them somewhere with me...I can just pull them off and put them in the case.  The wood that hubby used is super light weight!

So, what do you think?

21 October 2011
Hi everyone!!!  Sorry that I'm not going to write much tonight...but I just finished up this card and I'm super tired.  I bought a few new Spesch Designer Stamps and couldn't wait to color them!

This image is called Goth Girl with Cat and can be found HERE.  I think she is super adorable!  Max is a designer for Spesch and his designs are some of my all-time favorites!

Hope you enjoy...

Here is a close up of Goth Girl (I didn't color the cat that comes with her.)

Copic colors used:  G40, 21, 24; R24, 22, 20; RV10; Y11, 13, 15; YR21, 31; B000, 00, 21; YR04; V20, 25; N2, 5; C1; E00, 01, 11.

On another note, my sweet little kitty (whose name also happens to be Max) decided to check out my scrapbook papers while I was hard at work.  =D  Here is a cute little piccy of him.

Also, I haven't seen much of my Jedi crew lately so it was really nice of my hubby to feel bad for me hanging out alone...and so he came down to the Scrapcave and started working on a drawing for a friend of his.  He was great company tonight!  =D

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to share this with you real quick.  My friend had bought a wall hanger from Pier 1 Imports and we brightened it up with my Copic Airbrush system.  The flower was solid white and we added red tips to it using R59.  I used an old hotel card behind each petal so that the petals behind the ones I was working on didn't end up solid red (since I only wanted the tips red.)  Pier 1 also sold a solid red flower but she didn't want it that bold.
Here is the before and after...

Thanks for looking!

p.s. Happy Birthday Val!!!  =D

16 September 2011
Hi everyone!!!

It's been quite a while since my last post.  Well my summer flew by!  I had a fun summer filled with taking my teenager to a few anime conventions, family visits, and a MotoGP race in Indianapolis.  I didn't do any crafting though.  I did make this card back in June but I never posted it to my blog until now.

I am happy to say that I did do a scrapbook page tonight!  It felt really good to do it too!  However, I enjoy crafting so much more when my friends are here with me.  Casey, Val, and MJ...I miss crafting with you (my Jedi crew.)  I hope we will be able to get together and scrap soon!  =D

First, I am going to share my scrapbook page.  My son just brought home his school photos and I absolutely love them!  The hoodie that he is wearing in the pic...he painted the hood part.  The hoodie is based on a vocaloid character that he likes...called Matryoshka.  Here is a Matryoshka video if any of you are interested.

I tend to like "simple" looking pages...that verge on (what I call) an alternative style.  I used a bunch of different brands of papers to make this...so I won't even list them.  If you are curious about a certain paper...leave me a comment and I will answer it for you.  =D

This is the card that I made back in June.  The image is from Tickled Pink Stamps.
Copics used: G12, G40, V20, V25, RV55, RV66, RV10, RV11, RV13, RV14
Flower border is by Paper Studio (sold at Hobby Lobby)

Well, I am so happy to finally post something on my blog...I've missed everyone!  =D
I hope everyone had an amazing summer!

08 July 2011
Haha...I've been going nuts wanting to make a Halloween or Fall card but I've stopped myself because I keep telling myself it is too early.  But I couldn't wait any longer.  I had this super adorable Tiddly Inks image already printed out and she was begging me to color her.

Well, it is late (as I worked on this all evening) and I am too tired to talk and provide links.  I have a link to the Tiddly Inks shop in my previous post...if you need a link.

Here she is and thanks for looking!!!

Copics used:  BV00, 01, 04, 13; YR04, 07, 09, 12; G0000, 00, 02, 05; E000, 00, 01, 11
Spica pens:  clear, melon, mint, orange, black

Here is a card I just made today for the newest Tiddly Inks Challenge #56 called "Get an attitude - We are bad to the bone."  You can find the challenge HERE.  For some reason I've had Halloween on my mind a lot lately and I almost made this in to a Halloween card...but I talked myself out of it.  So here is what I came up with:

p.s. the card has the white border around it...the black/red background is not part of the card.

Image is Heartbroke Happy by Tiddly Inks
Copics used:  R20, 22, 24, 27 - C1, 3, 4, 5 - N2 - E00, 01, 11
Cricut October 31st cartridge (skull with bones)
Papers used DCWV and Creative Imaginations (chipboard ["Dressed to Kill"] and cherry rub-on are also Creative Imaginations)
Ribbon is from Michael's

Here is my motivational song for this card:

Thanks for checking out my card!  ~Hugs~

04 July 2011
I am so excited!  My hubby finished box 1 of 2 of my new paper holders!  I asked him to make a very basic (almost crate-like) box that would be set up like a file cabinet drawer.  Although my hubby is a very talented wood-worker...wood is not cheap!  Plus I kind of wanted it done quickly (and if hubby gets too detailed...that means I wait...sometimes months for it to be finished.) The total for the materials for the two paper holders came out to be about $45 and as you will see...it is very basic.  I will probably eventually paint it...but right now I am just too excited to wait for the paint to dry.  lol

I have the paper holder sitting on an old chest of drawers that I hide my scrappin' supplies in.  Once both paper holders are complete they will hang over the ends of the chest of drawers...but that is ok because I have a little side table to the left that is the exact height of the chest of drawers.  I originally wanted one super long paper holder but hubby suggested two so that they would be easier to move.  He knows how often I re-arranged down in the Scrapcave.

Well, enough blabbering...here are some pics!

This is a view of how basic it is.  Hubby did round all of the corners and make it nice and smooth.  He also made a little shelf under it for those boxes to fit in.  I believe he said the inside measured at 32 inches.

Here is a view of it almost full of papers.  It is so much easier for me to find the papers I want now!  And, since I am tall, it sits up high enough that I don't have to bend down to look through my papers!

Here is a full-view of the chest of drawers (and the little side shelf to the left) that it sits on.  The empty clear boxes on the floor used to sit on top of the chest of drawers and there was so much wasted space in between each box.  As you can see there is still room in my new paper holder (and I could have fit the rest of the two clear boxes items in there but I want to put them in the other paper holder once it is made.

On another note...for those of you who do not know me very well...I have a slight paper addiction!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE PAPER!!!  This is the amount of paper that I have purchased in the past week and a half.  This is not typical though...as I attended a scrapbook "yard sale" and bought of ton of awesome paper for a great deal and then I also attended a sale at a LSS that is going out of business and had everything 75% off!!!  Can't beat those deals!!!

Thanks for checking out my new paper holder and reading about my paper addiction...lol!

Hope you all have a great day!  ~Hugs~
