my weekend

my weekend started with berkeley turning 3. i'm so glad this finally came. i swear she has been 2 forever. we had a 'cousins only' birthday party which was the perfect amount of kids. if there were anymore, it would have turned to just terribleness. we played elephun and the fish catching game, opened presents, and ate cake. she was smiling the whole entire time and got overwhelmed a few times as well. friday night at the last minute i went to the jason mraz/b-52's concert with my niece rilee and her friend mckenzie. i'm not going to lie...i love hanging out with these 15 year olds. it reminds me of how much fun you have with your friends at that age and how carefree life is at that age. the best part of the night was after the concert we decided to go on the light rail considering none of us had ever ridden it. after taking a while to figure out how to buy a ticket we got on it and rode for like 4 miles, then got off, then rode right back to where we started. it was so random and so fun. i am definitely a fan of the light rail system. then saturday morning todd's aunt came over with TONS of peaches and we made lots of peach jam. as well as all of our activities, todd's sister heidi has been in town staying here so we have had a lot of fun playing with her and her 2 boys. i love seeing berkeley play with oscar. they love playing together and they have definitely been getting into mischief together!

i don't know what to talk about!!!!!

since nothing monumental has been happening, i guess i will write the small things that have been happening...

  • beckham will be getting tubes soon....poor thing. he's only 6 months! i'm sorry for the bad genetics that i passed onto him!
  • i swear my body is falling apart from playing soccer once a week. i play on monday nights, and i don't feel better until monday morning. both my hips ache and both my knees ache, and i end up with random bruises all over my body, but i love it too much to quit.
  • berkeley is loving school. we do "homework" every day and she is grasping on so well.
  • berkeley now knows all the sounds to the letters as well as identifying all of the numbers and letters. my little smart cookie.
  • beckham can now sit up and it has made him so much happier.
  • todd's in school....every day....every night....every weekend....nothing new with that.
  • i have been getting together with friends a lot again and i absolutely love it. it makes me happy.
  • berkeley is in dance and gymnastics. maybe a little hard core.... not a big deal.
  • berkeley turns 3 on friday. its about time. i feel like she has been 2 forever. i'm sick of saying shes 2 when people always think shes like 4.
  • i have started renting the mad men series and i love it. it entertains me at night when todd is gone.
  • i watched my brother sean's kids last week...all 6 of them. it was really fun. besides the constant cleaning from the two 2 year olds, it was a blast hanging out with the older kids. the best was being the 25 and older adult for my 15 year old niece to drive with her permit. it wasn't bad until she almost ran over a dog and freaked out.

that's it.....simple, yet great.

is it over already?

i feel like the luckiest girl alive.
my amazing mom took us to newport for one last hoorah of the summer.
it was just us 3 and my mom in a little house fairly close to the water. i was so unbelievably spoiled the entire time. my mom would wake up with the kids at 6:30 every morning and take them on a walk and let me sleep in until 9 EVERY day...it was bliss.
then she would watch beckham in the afternoons at the house while me and berkeley would enjoy the beach baby-less and have an extra great time.
she took us to ice cream.
bought our dinners.
and gave us all of her love and attention.
i guess i just loved it so much because i had my mom all to myself. it was fun to not have to share her with 6 other siblings and 20 grand kids for once.
as for the beach time....berkeley was so unbelievably funny. for most of the days it was just me and her. she would get lonely and start looking for friends on the beach. so she found lots of "friends"
i mean strangers... to play with and build sandcastles with.
she loved to go in the water and jump over the waves, and declare if they were a baby one or a daddy one.
we had such a great time and i miss the beach so much already.
thank you to my mother who i am so grateful to.

today berkeley started her first day of school. i am so excited for her because im pretty sure going to school is her calling in life. she is such a learner and will enjoy every second of it.
she had a great first day.
