Today out of the blue Madeline said, "car wash fun car go tath bub" Her way of saying that the car took a bath and it was fun. Last night I put Lucas in his bed so me and Madeline could do her nightly routine and as I was in his room I heard her shut her bedroom door. I knew something was up because she doesn't shut her door....ever. I went into her room and she was no where in sight. I finally found her hiding ever so quietly under her bed. Little stinker.

Thankful
The last month or so has been really
hard for me. I don't really know
exactly why or what has made it harder
than any other month but it has felt harder.
I miss my Jimmy and I feel exhausted and I
can think of what seems like a million
other things. I kind of let it get me down and this
past week I decided no more! We have made it
this far and we are almost done and I should be happy
about that.
Looking back over this past year I have learned a lot. I have
learned that I have a lot of room for improvement and that
I am not as patient or as strong as I thought I was. I have seen
a lot of my weaknesses and have felt insufficient in a lot of areas.
I think this has contributed to my feelings but I have also
realized that I have done it. I have managed to hold it
together and be a good parent and take care of my kids
and make time for fun and keep my house mostly clean...you should
see the pile of laundry on my bedroom floor. I have managed
to keep a good attitude the majority of the time. I have had my days and
my downs but for the most part I have managed to be positive and happy.
I have managed to take it a day at a time and on most
days make those days happy good ones. I have managed to do it, but
I have only managed to do it because of....
and....
I am so blessed. I have such a wonderful husband who
loves me and who sacrifices so much so I can be at home with our kids
and I have two beautiful children who melt my heart with their smiles and
make every hard day worth it.
I am one lucky woman.
Park, Dog Park, and Car Wash
We had a busy day today.
We played at the park.
We played at the park.
We come to this park almost everyday on our runs
and Madeline has mastered the rock wall...
We also took the dogs to the dog park.
And Madeline experienced her first carwash.
She wasn't too thrilled with it at the time.
I think it kind of scared her.
After it was over she kept saying how fun
it was though and wanted to do it again.
Madeline's 1st Dental Appointment
Madeline had her first dentist appointment.
It was no big deal, they just looked
at her teeth and counted them and then
gave her a flashing toothbrush.
Her teeth look great and she only has
two more molars to come in on the top.
Before we left I kept telling her that we were going to the
dentist and that they were going to look at her
teeth and count them. She was really excited...
until we got there.
She cried and cried and did not want them to look
at her teeth. I think overall she did great for her first time.
Because she was so awesome we stopped off
at Baskin Robbins for an ice cream cone.
She was pretty happy about that and the
flashing toothbrush.
Little moments like eating ice cream and loving
it make me love being a mom.
She keeps talking about the dentist and how
fun it was...I'm pretty sure it's because of the
ice cream.
Madeline & Lucas
Madeline and Lucas really love each other.
It's so funny because Lucas
smiles like crazy when Madeline is near or
when she's talking to him. He gets so excited
and happy.
calls him. She is actually calling him Lucas more and more
these days. If he is crying and I'm not already holding him
she will let me know that baby is crying.
She is constantly trying to climb into the swing to lay
by him, or giving him his binky, or
kissing or hugging him.
down by him and it was instant smiles.
They are so sweet and I am so happy that
they are mine.
Love them!
Little Stud Muffin
Oh how I love my little Lucas.
He is such a good baby.
He eats great and is sleeping pretty good.
We still haven't made it through the night but
he's getting closer. He's an early riser that's for sure!
He is so calm and mellow. He's just starting to smile
back at us and is really starting to notice his s
surroundings. He smiles so easily.
He loves baths.
He loves to be held and cuddled
but has his moments where he just wants
to lay on the floor.
He seriously is so sweet.
He has the prettiest eyes and the
cutest little dimples.
He's a chub-a-roo. He likes to eat and
at almost 8 weeks is already wearing 3 month
clothes and has been for a while.
I can't believe he is almost 2 months old.
He really has been a dream. It's
amazing how much they change in such a short amount of time.
Here are a few pictures....
Madeline used to do the same thing and
I think it's so stinkin' cute.
