A Valentine for a Friend

Valentine's Day isn't just for the spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend but its for anyone you love.  Daughters, Sons, Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Grandparents or just best friends and as you can see this could go miles.  So making a Valentine for someone special is so much fun.  I have so many people I would love to make a card for but I dont' have time for that or the creativity either.  But I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day.  Get out your supplies and make a card for your "love" today.

This card today was also made with the MOJO MONDAY sketch as my pattern.  I love using these sketches, and there are many places out on the www that you can find a sketch to make your card from.  I use the sketches when I am not being very creative or my time is short and I have to come up with an idea quickly.

Here is the sketch I used on today's  card:

I love making Valentine's !!!

Here are some of the supplies I used for this card:
Stampin Up/ Cherry cobbler cardstock for base, cherry cobbler ribbon, cherry cobbler ink,
Valentine Stamp, embosslit heart.
The paper is from some that I had here in my moutain of papers
Black and White Ribbon is also some I had on hand.

Glad you visited my blog!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I know, Valentine's Day is a few days away but if there is any other card I like to make it is a Valentine's Day Card.  Christmas Cards are my favorite and I make bunches of those, but the next holiday would be "heart" day.

Today's card is made with the  Mojo Monday sketch that came out Monday.  If you need inspiration or motivation to make a card, or even if you don't know where to start, go to the link above and try out one of the sketches for your next card.

Here is the sketch I used for today's card:
Keep in mind you don't have to follow the exact sketch, you can add or delete whatever you want, after all it is your card.  Inspiration and Ideas come from all kinds of things so using the sketches only enhances your creativity.

Here is my try at the sketch

Here is some of the items I used to make the card.
Stampin Up/Cherry Cobbler cardstock for base
Stampin Up/Amore DSP
Martha Stewart/Heart Border Punch
Stampin Up/Valentine Stamp
Stampin Up/Cherry Cobbler Ink
Stampin Up/Cherry Cobbler Ribbon
The bling is some that I had laying around here but you can
use pearls and try making them red with a marker or use just the pearls.

I hope you like the Valentine's Day Card, I will admit I will probably be making another
one soon.

Thanks for visiting my blog!!!

Birthday Card Repeat

HI there,

Back again with yet another Birthday card.  My oldest daughter Lyndsey will be 24 February 20th. I decided to go ahead and post this here as she never sees the blog.  I am very proud of her, she graduated from college last June and is now a Social Worker and has a good job.  She seems to like her job so that is always pleasing to know.

This is Lyndsey I am sure she would be unhappy that I posted this picture but I figure she won't see this so it won't harm anything.
This card was made so that she could keep it on her desk at work.  She likes little crafty things so this might look cute.  Her birthday is so early in the year that this little calendar can still be used for the rest of the year.

I should have edited this photo and made it a little brighter....but the flower is a navy blue and looks so much better in person.
Here is the calendar part of the card.

I highlighed the 20 on the calendar because that is her birthday date.   The little flower
is blue also.  I will make sure the next photos I do look better then this.

Well, hope you all like the card I posted.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Birthday Card

post signature

Hello,

A few weeks ago my kids celebrated their 22nd birthday.  I will have to say that it is so upsetting and at the same time thrilling to see my youngest turn 22.  I don't want to brag but I think they are pretty good kids.  My son who was born first, by 2 minutes, has decided that he would like to go into business with his dad and help with the farming.  So he has received his CDL license and is driving a truck hauling grain, gravel and equipment when needed.  He has his own lawn care business and does well with it.  He
also plows and salts parking lots in the small town we live in.  Recently he went
and bought a Floater so that this spring he can spread lime for area farmers.  I think
he has enough to keep him busy.
Our daughter who was born last by 2 minutes....the same two minutes is a senior
in college studing physical rehabilitation and is enjoying that.  She will graduate next year.
If you hadn't figured it out by now they are twins.  Their birthday was January 20th.

We don't buy birthday presents but give the kids money, after all that is what they want anyway.
I made them birthday cards, but after the money is gone from them you find them laying around so
I pick them up and save them, I know they could care less about them, but I still like to make
them cards.

Here is the card I made Lesley, her favorite colors are orange/blue.

This is the card I made Landry, I will have to admit, I didn't really go to far with this card,
but I did want it to be some what nice.

Well, I will be back again with yet another Birthday Card for my older Daughter Lyndsey.  I have already made it so I will post it tomorrow.  Her birthday is February 20th, but she won't see the blog so she will still be surprised.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

This was going to be a card post.

Hello,

I had plans to make a card today, but I got side tracked and decided to update
my blog.  I really don't like it (especially the header) but maybe I will take care of that.  I guess I am bored with the cold weather so I thought about perking up the blog background, so here is what I chose to post.

I know I haven't posted a card since May, but I have made several, just never found the time to make a post.  But today I want to share with you some photos of my favorite thing to do in the spring/summer.  HUMMINGBIRD's and gardening.  I will post a card soon :)

I know these photos are not very good, but it is very hard to get sharp photos of hummingbirds.  I spend a lot of time taking photos of these littley guys, I have tons of photos I could share but I won't bore you with them.  I just can't wait until these little guys come home this spring....I call my house their home, they are on winter vacation.  :)

Well, thanks for looking, and I will post a card soon....and maybe somemore photos.

Birthday Card for a Friend

Good Morning,

I promised this card a day or so ago, but sometimes life just gets in our way of doing things we have planned.

This Birthday Card is for a friend who has already celebrated her birthday, but I had already gave her a gift just didn't have the card.

Here is the card:
This card was made using:  brown card stock for the base/pink patterned paper/another layer of patterned paper/ then used strips for the side of different papers layered on a punched edge
piece/circles are Marvy Punch/Stamped greeting is Stampin Up.
small pearls added as well as small flowers with pearl center/I also used the paper piercer to edge around some of the paper on the side bar/topped with brown ribbon.

Thanks so much for looking.
I see where there are folks viewing my blog, I encourage you to leave me some comments for at least check mark what you think of the card at the bottom.

I hope to come back in a day or two with another birthday card
for another friend.

Have a wonderful day!!

Good Morning,

Today is the last grad card I have to share with you.
I hope you have enjoyed the other cards and have used the ideas on your
own creations.  I use the Mojo Monday sketches on these cards because sometimes
ideas are hard to come up with, this is a great way to get your motivation back when
your brain can't seem to help you out.

Todays Card:

I know that these cards have been very simular, two of them are for twin girls, so I made them look simular for that reason.  The other one is for my son's girlfriend, so I made hers to look like the twins only because they are all good friends.
I used Stampin Up stamps/cuddlebug embossing folders/scalloped circle punches from marvy/grad hat from quick kuts (sp)/and the poka dot paper is a paper pack purchased at Joann's/other label punches are from stampin up/the number punches I purchased at a sale and have no clue what brand.

I hope you have enjoyed the grad cards, I hope I am done with them.  I am hoping to move on to some other theme.  I will post a Birthday card tomorrow???
Have a great Sunday

Hello and Good Saturday Morning,

I am back this morning with another graduation card.  I have only one more to share with you tomorrow, so we will be done with the grad cards.  I have a couple of Birthday cards made up and a baby card and will share those with you later on.

Purple and Gold is the theme for this card also.  I haven't received any cards from grads from any other school so I don't get to make any other color, however, they don't have to be the school colors of the grad.

Here is the card:

Most of the elements I used for this card are from Stampin UP, but some stamping was Hobby Lobby stamps, the scalloped circles are punches from Marvy, and some label punches from Stampin UP. Ribbon/stampin up.  Ink/Memento

Graduation card purple and gold

Hello,

Today I am back with another graduation card.  I know you all are probably going to get sick of
seeing the same colors in my grad cards but I try to make them with the colors of the school the are graduating from.  Purple and Gold is probably a common color style for a lot of schools, but you can use any colors to make this card. I used supplies from Stampin Up, Quik Kuts, and embossing folders from cuddle bug.....

Thanks for looking

WOW!! Am I back?

HELLO,

Well, I don't know how long I can keep posting, but I have been making a few cards lately and I will try to post one when I can.

I have found it hard to have the time to make cards.  I keep busy with the house, the outdoors and all the things that includes, but yesterday my cousin and I got together and made a few graduation cards, so I will be sharing those with you today.

You may find that they all tend to look simular, and that is probably true, but all the graduates I am making cards for are from the same school, so the colors will all look alike.

Here is the first card:  This was patterned from Mojo Monday sketch Monday 216 probably an older sketch.

For the front of the card I used Black as the base card, I used white cardstock on the layer and embossed it the swiss dot embossing folder.  I used the graduation hat cutting die from quik kuts, black brads for the hat and the stamp is from Stamping Up, I decorated the black back tab with a punch border.

The inside of the card I used white cardstock and embossed it with a embossing folder that was perfect for a congratulations greeting.  The little black folder is from sizzix and I made a small band on the inside to put money, the greeting was a stamp from Stamping Up.

Well, that is all I have today, I have a few more cards I will share with you but that is all for today.
I just hope I can keep stopping by for more cards.

Thanks for looking
