Easter Candy Table

Easter spells out beauty, the rare beauty of new life.  ~S.D. Gordon

I love this quote. I wonder if the author was referring to Spring or if he/she was referring to a deeper, more spiritual meaning? For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere- Easter is celebrated in the springtime so yes, Easter IS about vibrant new life, new blossoms & new growth. But for me, Easter, is also about the new life that God has so freely given to us and so the day is about SO MUCH MORE than just chocolate and candy. I am however, very grateful that chocolate and candy have somehow been thrown into the equation! I will never say no to a candy coated egg or two (those are my favourite). So that's why my mom and I decided to put on an Easter Candy Buffet for our family this year. Take a look at the pics below- one of my favourite things was the "Egg Nest Ice Creams" we put together. Perhaps you will get some inspiration for next year or maybe even for your next themed event. Oh, and Happy Easter- may it be filled with baskets full of blessings for you and your family!

A Way With Watermelon

Everythings is better when it's in the shape of a heart. This is true. That's why you should try this cute little trick- use a heart shaped cookie cutter to shape your watermelon into little bites of love! Haha, yes, that sounds lame, but really... it's SO much easier to eat and it's a simple yet beautiful way to present the fruit. You can also put the hearts onto ice cream sticks and BOOM, in a second you'll have cute Watermelon Pops! Let this be the inspiration for your next watermelon recipe and spread the love :)

Take a Drive to Henley on Klip

Klip House Theatre & Restaurant

I'm always on the lookout for new spots to shop and eat and KlipHouse has to be my favourite new discovery! Klip House is a quaint boutique restaurant, shop & theatre located in Henley on Klip. Situated next to the R59 between Johannesburg and Vereeniging, it's only about 45 minutes outside of the city so it's the perfect idea if you feel like taking a drive into the country-side.

Their lunch menu is casual and laid back- fresh salads, roast chickens and yummy pastas- all laid out buffet style. What I liked most is that you only pay for what you eat, your plate gets weighed and priced accordingly. Having said all that, the shop was still the highlight. Well, I guess anyone who knows me, understands that the shopping is almost always the highlight! I love a good shop! Its small space that's crammed with gorgeous antiques, rabbit candles (I had to mention this because I have to get myself one of those), jams, linens, quilts, silverware and everything else in between. Klip House is also the home of the Time & Space Theatre, an intimate 28 seater theatre which hosts live music performances and movie evenings. Overall a gorgeous place to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon...

Take a look at the pics and also a list of some of the upcoming events happening at Klip House below.
