Taylored Expressions Release Party

Have you been enjoying this week's sneak peeks for the new May release at Taylored Expressions?  Everything is now available in the TE store and to catch everything new, hop on over to see what Fresh Out of the Oven!
The Baker's Dozen is showcasing all of the May stamp sets and Taylored Dies and I've made another card using Welcome Little One - and since I've been making baby boy cards all week, I thought I'd switch it up and make a baby girl card using some fun new Lime Twist - Happy Go Lucky papers from My Mind's Eye.  I started with this week's SC331 sketch from Splitcoaststampers, which really just gave my huge procrastinator personality away since the sketch went live yesterday, haha!  I stamped the little carriage in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with Copic Markers.  I also stamped the bracket frame in Rich Razzleberry and then used the Bracket Frame Die to cut it out and layered it on a Labels 9 Nestabilities.
There is much, much more to see today, so hop on over to see the rest of the Baker's Dozen!

Thanks for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek | Day 3

Welcome back!  This is day 3 of Taylored Expression May release sneaks and everything will be available tomorrow morning at 8 AM Pacific.  Today the Baker's Dozen is featuring 4 new sets along with a fun new Taylored Die!
  • It's In the Bag - full sized stamp set
  • Moka Olivia - petite set
  • Moka Jenn - petite set
  • Summer Wreath - petite set
  • Shopping Bag & Labels Die Set
First up for me this morning is our new Moka Jenn - a new petite set created and illustrated by Nancy McKinney, which I just have to say is one of my most favorite images yet!  I just had to ink her up the minute I unwrapped her!  She comes with various sentiments, which are just cute as can be and I'm so excited to see where these Moka girls will take us!
I started with Taylor's TESC137 and stamped Jenn in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Choice Snow White cardstock and again on Stella & Rose Mabel paper so I could paper piece her cute little shirt.  I am totally loving that baby bump!  She's just the cutest!  I'm still learning how to color in hair, so I was so happy that this set came on it's own 3" x 5.5" image panel - in full color - so that I could sort of see how to shade in all that glorious hair!  I ended up coloring her hair red to match the papers and then my youngest asked me if that was Auntie Sarah - who has the most beautiful red hair ever.  My first little red-headed image.  For the scalloped border I used the Small, Medium, and Large Scallop Border dies and then added a few Savannah Buttons in the corner.

I stamped simply on the inside of the card.

Up next is It's In the Bag - another fantastic set illustrated by Nancy for the Whimsical Wishes line and it's packed full of possibilities for every gift-giving occasion and party.

I started off with Julee's MOJO189 sketch and papers from Jillybean Soup - Blossom Soup and that's kind of how I ended up with my pink and green color scheme.  It's In the Bag has a coordinating Shopping Bag & Label die that is SO sweet and fun and I cut the shopping bag out on the patterned paper and added the little label from the die set in olive cardstock and then popped up the Bamboo Leaves umbrella on a 3/4" circle.
I ended up stuffing in some pink tissue paper - yep, I just stuffed it in there, just like I do with big size gift bags, hehe, and I adore how it just comes to life off the card!

Stop on by to see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen have whipped up for you today!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek | Day 2

Good morning!  I'm back with more peeks of the May release from Taylored Expressions!  Today the Baker's Dozen is feauring 2 new full sized sets - Baby Cakes {featuring our favorite Cuppie} and Bringing Home Baby.

I'm featuing Bringing Home Baby, which is illustrated by the uber talented Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes line of stamps.  The set has 23 images and sentiments and is designed to mix and match to build the perfect nursery scenes for your cards, announcements, and scrapbook pages.

I started with the MOJO188 for the layout and stamped the crib in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored the matress with Copics. I loved the idea of hanging something above the crib, so I stamped "It's a Boy!" in Memento Tuxedo Black and then cut it out with an oval punch and hung it like a frame with Baker's Twine.  The stars were cut out using my Sihouette machine and I added some fun stitching around the background paper, which I embossed with the Stars Impression Plate.  This was one of the first cards I sewed on, so I didn't even come close to sewing in a straight line.  So how do you fix that?  Just go around again and be extra crazy and hide your mistake - or maybe I'm just a little Type A when it comes to my cards... lol!!  The scalloped border is made from the Scalloped Eyelet Border die.

All of the papers (minus the kraft carstock) are from the Alphabet Soup Project Pantry Kit for boys.  Included in this kit are:

     12 - 8.5"x11" sheets of cardstock (2 sheets each of 6 colors)
     27 - 4" x 6" sheets of double-sided patterned paper (3 sheets each of 9 patterns)
     Want2Scrap Teal Baby Bling
3 yds. of ribbon (1 yard each of 3 different styles)
15 Mini Safety Pins (5 each of 3 colors)
Die cut embellishments to match patterned papers

TE is also offering a kit for girls as well and each kit will retail for just $9.95!! A super value!

There is much more in store for you today, so swing by the rest of the Baker's Dozen blogs to get your fill of eye candy -
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek | Day 1

Good morning and happy Monday! We all have baby on the brain today with Taylor's recent announcement and thought we'd kick off this week's Taylored Expressions sneak peeks with a fun baby set called Welcome Little One - another fantastic set designed by Taylor for the TE line of stamps.  This set is made of deeply etched cling mount rubber and is exploding with darling images for all sorts of baby projects and to add a little extra punch, there is a coordinating Bracket Die too!  Other member of the Baker's Dozen are showcasing 3 new A la Carte stamps - Announcement A la Carte, Heart Frame A la Carte {and coordinating die!}, and Welcome Baby A la Carte.  All of the sets you'll be seeing this week will be available for purchase on Thursday, May 5th.

Welcome Little One is the next charity set in our Giving Tree series - $7 from each set sold during May, June, and July will be donated to Bethany Christian Services.  This beautiful organization provides adoption and orphan care services, as well as care for women who are facing unplanned pregnancies not only here in the US, but on 5 continents!

In order to keep manufacturing costs at a minimum, the Giving Tree sets are not die cut and will need to be hand trimmed before you stamp.  This allows Taylored Expressions to donate more to each charity.

For my card today, I stamped the Sweet Baby sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black and then used my stamp positioner to add 'boy' underneath.  I cut out the image with a Wonky Rectangles Nestabilities die and then used the outside of that same die to trace a cutting line so that it created a 1/8" border.  The blocks are stamped in Colorbox Yellow Ochre Fluid Chalk Ink and cut out with Nestabilities.  I added some chocolate stitched ribbon and of course, a Bow Easy bow and finished the card with a Medium Scallop Border and some Chocolate Pearls.  The layout is Sweet Stop's SSS106.

Would you like to get an early peek at the stamp sets releasing on Thursday?  Just hop on over to the Taylored Expressions Facebook page on Wednesday night and check them out!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 115

Good morning - It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of this post to enter your card. The links will close on Friday at 10 PM (Mountain Time), and I'll randomly select one card to feature on my blog on Saturday. So, as long as your card is linked by 10 PM Friday, your card will be in the drawing. Be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card. You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC115 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.

I got a little creative and made a sketch badge for you all to use on your blog if you'd like.  Now, I'm not computer literate and so I have NO idea how to make this a blinkie and have all the HTML code here for you just to copy.  So you have to do this old school and save the image to your computer first and then upload it to your blog and then if you wouldn't mind linking the photo to my blog, that would be fantastic!
Hey, guess what??  I sewed!  I KNOW!  I treated myself to a Jenome Sew Mini and I've been practicing and practicing getting that stitching in a straght line.  You'll see some of my goof-ups later this week, haha!  I actually managed to sew all right on this card, so it's a happy day.  The set I used today is Treasure Life from Taylored Expressions and I stamped the little jar in Memento Tuxedo Black and then using my stamp positioner, I stamped the apples inside.  I colored them in with copics and then added a little glaze over the top with my new glaze pen.  I used the Gift Card Frame die for the main panel and then added the Leafy Branch underneath as well as a Spellbinder's oval underneath the Apothecary Jar Die to make it stand out from the background a bit more.

The Sweet Sunday Stampers have amazing sketch samples to show you today, so stop on by to see:
Thanks for taking on the challenge this week!
