Don't cry over spilled milk

For some reason kids spilling things really bothers me. You would think that in the almost 5 years that I've had kids I would be used to it by now. I'm not. I don't know why it bothers me so much. Maybe it's the fact that it's a waste of juice/milk whatever it was that was spilled. It could be because I then have to clean up the spill. Most likely it's because if the child was paying attention to what they were doing they would avoid 90% of spills. I know they're just kids and it shouldn't bother me so I try to not let my annoyance show.

Yesterday I was getting Isaac some apple juice. As I was getting a cup from the cupboard he tried to get the brand new, never opened gallon of apple juice off of the counter himself. Of course it was too heavy for him and he dropped it on the floor. The bottom broke out resulting in one whole gallon of juice spilled on the floor. That spill really bothered me.

Word Quiz

I did this little quiz today and this is what it came up with. I figured I'd share it. If you'd like to take it yourself go here.

Your Word is "Love"
You see life as possibility to form deep connections with a few people.
Relationships are the center of your world, and you always take time to bond with those you love.

You are caring and giving. You enjoy helping those you love.
And when it comes to romantic love, you feel passionately ... even in a very long term relationship.

Favorite Books

This is Isaac's favorite book lately. He always wants to read the "dog book." I love that he is liking books. Eli has always loved to be read to but Isaac hasn't gotten into in until the last few months. Eli also went through a faze where he really liked this book. It is the first book that he "read" himself. He really just memorized it.

I would have to say that this is Eli's favorite book lately. He loves to sit on Chris' lap and have him read this to him. He remembers all sorts of stuff from it. He has told me several times that the heart pumps blood because there are valves and muscles, etc. I'm pretty sure he can describe how the heart works better than I can. Can I get this kid into school already? He soaks up whatever he learns and remembers it all. I have a feeling he's going to love school.

Somedays

There are certain days when you just can't help but know that you're raising boys. As of the first of the year we now have church at 1:00 pm. Of course that is right when Isaac's nap time is. We put him down about 10 am on Sundays and he usually sleeps. Yesterday he didn't. So, for those of you with kids, I'm sure you can imagine how fun that makes sacrament meeting. During this fun, Isaac decided to sit on the edge of the bench. Of course he lost his balance and fell forward, hitting his head on the bench in front of us. He cried for a minute but since we were sitting in the middle of a big row Chris didn't/couldn't easily take him out. Later when I picked him up from nursery he had a big red mark/scratch on his cheek. To match the big bump and bruise on his forehead I guess. I don't know what happened to the cheek. I can imagine. I've been a nursery leader. So, we came home from church and we were all changing our clothes. That's when Eli thought it would be a good idea to tackle Isaac right into his dresser. It took a good 10 minutes to get the blood to stop flowing from both of Isaac's nostrils. It's a good thing I wasn't planning on having Isaac's picture taken anytime soon.

One-on-one

One of my goals for this year is to have more one-on-one time with Eli. I brought him to Chuck E. Cheese's today since we had a bunch of tokens left over from the last time we went. They have a cool picture thing where they draw your picture. It was my favorite part. I scanned our picture. Isn't it cute. Eli went to a birthday party there a few weeks ago and they had some of him with his friends. They're so cute. I love them. I also love arcade/game places. One of Chris and I's favorite places to go is the Nickelcade. I'm planning on taking Eli to the Nickelcade on our next outing.
