I've been feeling sick the last few days so I skipped work! I never skip work when I'm sick. I just suck it up and go do my thing and go home and complain afterwards to Keith, (which I'm positive he loves). But I discovered something this week while I've been staying home doing nothing. I REALLY REALLY REALLY like not going to work. I wish I could do this more often. I could have worked today because I'm not really sick right now, but my boss doesn't need to know that. It has been nice sleeping in. A few times a week I'm up at 3am, a few other days at 5am, and I almost never sleep past 7:30. Today I woke up at 7:30 since I wasn't working (my internal clock never lets me go longer than that no matter what time I went to bed the night before), but then I forced myself to go back to sleep until 10:00!! And I think I only got up then because Ranger was whining to be taken outside. I guess he had been "holding it" for a good 13 hours poor pup. Anyway, all this sleeping in has got me remembering freshman year of college when I had a class at 10am and almost never made it to that class because it was too early in the morning! Ha! 10am? I'm often up for 7 hours by 10am now. That was a pred-med biology class too. Probably should have gone to that one, because maybe then I wouldn't have had to retake it! :)

I've also been marveling at the fact that I can get up at 3 am at all. In truth I'm not a good morning person because I'm not exactly chipper and happy at that miserable hour, and I'm sure the kids I have to supervise at 4 are a little afraid of me. It's an hour that nobody should ever see in my opinion. I really hate it. I hate seeing Keith sleeping away, perfectly happy in dreamland while I'm drying my hair and pretending it's time to be awake. So not fair. I hate seeing Ranger stay in his bed when I walk by because even he knows that you shouldn't be up at 3am. And he always jumps right out of bed eager to get out and play as soon as he even hears one of us. But not at 3am. He just watches me and you can tell he is thinking "go back to bed you idiot". I am an idiot. A sleep deprived idiot. Funny though because I am way tired right now which is why I am rambling. I do better on less sleep.
