Talk, Talk, Talk

I really like that Mason, who will turn 2 in September, is such a great little talker.  He says a lot of complete or almost complete sentences.  Here are some of the things he said this morning.
"Momma, how about a different book?"
"I need to get down from here."
"I don't like it, Momma."
"Help me, Momma.  I dropped bee pillow."
"Hi, Momma.  I walk with Dada on sidewalk."
"Hi leaf.  What are you doing here?"
"Bye Kim, see you soon."
"Where are you going Ranger?  Get back here."
"Momma, I took my shoes off."

Good Reunioning

We had a great time with family in June and July.  First my family came from Oregon and Washington and my grandparents from New Mexico.  Then Keith, Mason and I flew to Minnesota to see Keith's family the next week and we were there during the 4th of July with the family that already lived there and Keith's sister Jessica who flew in from Florida with her family.  I realized when I got home that I only took a couple pictures of our trip to Minnesota.  Really let the ball drop on that one!
Here are a few from Utah:
Mason loved playing in the water at Bridal Veil Falls.  He mostly just liked moving rocks from one side of this log to the other.
Mason, Aunt Andi, and cute little Ainsley though you can't see her cute face here.
Mason, Dad and Granddad at the bowling alley.
Mason and Ethan having fun together at the arcade.  They can be pretty cute and funny together when they aren't beating on eachother.
Mason, Mitchell and Tiana gettin' their groove on with some DDR.
Mason and Lindy enjoying the sprinkler on a hot day.
Not sure why this impromptu line formed, but when there is a line you just have no choice but to stand in it.  I really want to poke Mason's full tummy.  :)
It was fun having my family around.  We hadn't seen my grandparents for 6-7 years so I'm really glad they were able to make the trip from New Mexico.  The waterfall was a highlight since it was so great for little kids.  The water pools at the bottom and it is perfect for wading.  Bowling was fun too and Mason had fun pushing the ball down the ramp. Plus there was some great shopping and barbecuing. Mason definitely loved having lots of cousins around to play with.  Lisa and her family put up camp at our house and when we went to Minnesota they were still staying here. That was great because then I didn't have to find somewhere for our dog, Ranger, to go while we were in Minnesota! Thanks, Lisa for the free dog sitting.

Minnesota was fun but it was a short trip.  On the way there on the plane I could feel Mason getting hotter and hotter and he was a little crankier than normal during that first day in MN.  And then at four in the morning I took his temperature and it was over 104 degrees!  He was miserable.  I was able to get his temperature down into the 103 range so I didn't take him to the ER, but he had a fever the whole next day.  And because of that, I stayed home with Mason from the 4th of July party at Emily's house.  I hear it was fun-filled and I'm bummed I missed it.  And the next day Mason broke out into spots all over his face.  Not cute, but not harmful either apparently.  I did get to go to the new Twins stadium which was pretty cool and luckily the Twins won so spirits were high and it was a good time. Also the zoo was fun because Mason loves animals.  He wasn't happy I made him leave the seals.  And visiting Neil and Angel's house was a treat with great food, company, and chickens.
And now the only pictures I really got in Minnesota:
In Minnesota we went to the Como Zoo which is free and great for the little kids.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get Mason to look at the camera so I got a lot of pictures of the back of his head.
At Neil and Angel's house they have some chickens which Mason loved to chase.  He doesn't look that happy here, but he was really having fun.
Mason and cousin Mary on the back of the Neil Selden property. At least cutie Mary knows how to smile for the camera.
