Picnic at Scenic Transmountain

I was trying to think of something fun to do with the kids that would be cheap and not overwhelming, so we could get out of the house. I then thought of going to Taco Bell and picking up a couple of their $2 meals and going for a picnic at the top of Trans-mountain. It was beautiful. It did not last long though. We had two nagging bees around us and the kids were so paranoid that they were going to get stung that we ended our picnic in the van. It was fun while it lasted, and the most important thing was, it got us out of the house.
Oh, and if you look really closely you might be able to see our house!! LOL!

Chloe's 1st day of Preschool

Chloe started preschool today. She is attending the nearest High school's Child Development Lab. We actually ran in the jogging stroller to her school. It is about a mile away down the mountain. She was very excited to go to school just like Hailey and Jonathan.

She has a friend from church that is in her class. They both had Dora backpacks.

She told me they went on a walk, went to the playground twice, ate graham crackers, cheese, apple sauce and water for a snack, and sang the days of the week song and the Tooty Tot song. She also played games. Sounds like a fun morning for a 3 year old!

Of course Jonathan and Seth have the same hair cut.

Then Jonathan and Chloe wanted to be together since they both had red on.

Visiting Kansas Cousins

On our way to Indiana we were able to visit Travis and Brittney in Kansas. The kids had a ball together. Brittney took a couple of goofy pictures of the kids!

Swim Team 2010 Go Barracudas!

We did swim team again this year at the El Paso Country Club. This was Hailey's 3rd summer swimming, and this was Jonathan's 1st year! He was so excited! He may have been the slowest swimmer but he certainly enjoyed every minute of it, and of course Hailey enjoyed herself even though she may not admit to it!

Jonathan was so excited to get a trophy at the end of the season banquet! I think the whole season all he cared about was getting ribbons and the trophy, I guess that is why they give them out.

Klaine's 1st 5K race

Klaine started running a couple of months ago and decided to make it a goal of running a 5K. We were so proud of him to achieve such an accomplishment. He ran the whole way and it was not an easy run. It was up and down hill the whole way. He ran it in just under 30 minutes. I was so impressed!!

The before picture:

The kids and I got up early so we could watch him run and cheer him on. We brought our bells to make lots of noise to encourage all those runners!

The during picture, taken about 2 miles out:

The after picture a true accomplishment!

Spaghetti Fun!

I was tired of the kids complaining about dinner one night and remember a date I went on when I was a teenager having to do with spaghetti. I set the table so that each person had something usual for their plate and their utensil. We all had a great time trying to eat spaghetti. There was no complaints that night about not liking dinner. We did have to warm Jonathan up to the idea at first. He did not what to try eating with something different, but eventually enjoyed the idea.

I had a sauce pan and melon ball scooper.

Klaine had tongs and a pan lid.

Chloe had a mixing bowl and a whisk.

Jonathan is shown here eating with a fork, but eventually used the big green spoon, with the bread pan.

Hailey had a Tablespoon and a heart shaped candy dish.

Seth got to eat with his hands, but I guess that is nothing new.

Touch a Truck

Klaine went to Albuquerque for the night to go to the BYU vs. New Mexico football game and while he was gone we went to the Touch a Truck at the Outlet Mall. We had so much fun! They had tons of fun trucks to explore. My camera battery died on my half way through, but I got some neat pictures. Some of the trucks there were : Cement truck, small tractor, backhoe tractor, school bus, moster truck, several armored hummers from SWAT, border patrol, and the military, a refrigerated milk truck, a fire truck, two ambulances, a helicopter, a huge tow truck, a police car, and a couple more that I can not remember.

This a look at a couple of trucks that were there.

Here Hailey and Jonathan decided to pose in the backhoe.

This was one of Chloe's favorite next to the back hoe. I think they liked the backhoe because they could honk the horn!

I have never been this close to a helicopter before. It was pretty cool.

This was the armored border patrol. I would say only in El Paso, but that would probably not be true, because there are other border cities.

What a cute bunch! Looking at this picture, I can not believe that I have 4 kids! I must be crazy, or very lucky!!! Aren't they cute!
