Canadian Christmas!
Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Weights
Benjamin Loves his grandparents. Both The Barbers and the Weights. He always goes and hugs grandma and grandpa. Its been nice for him to be able to see them since they live in canada, he doesn't see them very often.

Tobogganing
This is Benjamin's first Christmas in Canada-- the motherland. It is his first time seeing real snow. So far it has been really fun spending time with Rob's family and friends. The first couple of days we spent in Calgary, and then later drove down to Raymond. Actually there has been a lot of driving back and forth, but anyway--- its been fun.
Benjamin Tobogganing
We went tobogganing with our friends K, L and their cute, cute, little girl E!
Benjamin and E lasted only one run down the hill, but it was fun nonetheless. Afterward we all went to McDondald's and let the kids run around in the play place--- which Benjamin loved.

My child is obsessed with trains. Obsessed! Gingerbread Houses and Santa Claus- what more could a kid ask for?
This post was supposed to be uploaded weeks ago, but as you know how it goes sometimes, its a little late.
The first part of December was very busy, preparing for the season. To welcome the season, it "snowed" in Houston for Rob's birthday, and Rob even got part of the day off! Awesome. The next day we headed up to aunt Tara's to make - gingerbread houses with cousins. Benjamin loved eating all of the candy and treats. It is a very fun tradition for the kids that robs family loves to do.
A week later, Tara, Rob's mom and I did a Christmas baking marathon---making nanimo bars, butter tarts, short bread, chocolate cherry rolls, and bachelor buttons. Yes, we did it all in a couple of hours, and enjoyed it very much.
This year has been very fun for Benjamin. He loves our nativity set, and loves to look at baby jesus and has become obsessed with babies. Benjamin also loves santa, the christmas tree, and even has tried opening presents under the tree. When we took benjamin up to tara's wards santa, benjamin could not wait to see santa. Once his turn came, he quietly sat on santa's lap "talking" to him. I was quite impressed because most kids his age are terrified of santa. It will be fun to see how benjamin will like christmas morning.

Is it already December?
The last part of november has been such a blur of sickness and sleeplessness, but here is a recap anyway!
The weekend of the 20th, Benjamin came down with something, so I was up most of the night with benjamin while rob was being soaked at a boy scout camp out. Both rob and I were really exhausted from the weekend with benjamin being sick and all, so we decided to keep him home from church that sunday.
Apparently, Benjamin was really sick, and had a high fever that triggered a febrile seizure during his nap. We really didn't want to take him to the ER, because we have been through these seizures with him before, but the on call DR said we should take him to the ER to find out why he was having his fever. 6 hours later, while we were in with the ER DR. Benjamin had another seizure for 90 sec. Which, as sad as it is to see your kid have a seizure, it was good to have the DR. see it. So far, we think they are just febrile seizures-- seizures that he gets when he has a high temperature. However, since Benjamin has had 6 seizures in the past 10 months the DR wanted us to get a EEG scan to make sure its not something else.
Thanksgiving:
My parents drove down from wichita, KS, on Wednesday for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We were supposed to celebrate thanksgiving with rob's sister's families, but due to the amount of sickness that was going on in everyones homes, we opted to just have thanksgiving with my parents and robs parents at our place. Considering how tired we were, it was a really nice low key thanksgiving. It was fun to spend time with my parents, and Benjamin LOVED playing with his grandparents. Every morning when he would wake up and say "grandma? Grandpa?" After my parents left, Benjamin would always ask where they had gone. Rob eventually had to explain that Grandma Gail and Grandpa Dave wouldn't be coming back for a while.
That weekend, benjamin came down with the croup-- my least favorite sickness that Benjamin likes to get. Thankfully we were able to nip it in the bud with steriods and meds before it could get any worse. The past week and a half Benjamin and mommy, have been on the mend. Lets just say there was one day where I seriously slept all day because I was so tired from everything. Benjamin is an amazing kid! No matter how sick he is, he is always such a happy kid!
