Take a peek...

My friend, Kris, had a fun post on her blog today where she gave us a peek inside her fridge. My mouth watered as I looked at all of her deliciousness. When I got home from work, this is what I found:

Do you think it's time to make a grocery store run?

Being single really changes things. I never had a fridge that looked like this when I had a family at home. And even in the first few years of living alone, I tried to maintain the lifestyle I lived before. But now it has come to vegetable juice ,eggs, and sour cream. Before you start feeling too sorry for me, my cupboards and freezer are full. I have been away for the weekend so used up all that was in my fridge before I left with the plan to go shopping today. And I did.

Does this make you feel any better?

This week I'm eating barbecue chicken, cube steak, pizza, and panini's. I don't think I'm going to waste away anytime soon!

On a side note...for those of you who asked. The lemons I have been squeezing for Jeff and Olivia's wedding is just for fresh lemonaid. They are getting married in May and having an outside afternoon reception. The perfect refreshment!

Thank you Mr. President

So nice to have a day off of work today. I didn't think of even one of our Presidents today while I wasn't working though.

Instead, I got up early and went on a hike with my friends. After a rainy weekend, the desert was heavenly and the view was beautiful!

I came home and squeezed 100 more lemons...my freezer is filling up with lemon concentrate for Jeff and Olivia's wedding.

I went to visit the tax man. The good news is that the government is giving me back some of MY money that they've been holding all year long.

The rest of the weekend was equally productive. Yesterday I taught my Relief Society lesson. I really like teaching adults and we always have a good discussion together.

I also got a haircut and an oil change on Saturday.

It was so good to have time to get things done this weekend; I feel very productive. I forget what it is like to have free time...it has become a rare commodity this past year.

Back On-line

After nearly a month with no computer, I'm back! Jeff took pity on his mother and helped me out last night. I gave him my credit card last night and sent him shopping-he came back with a sweet laptop. Then he spent the next 3 hours setting it up for me. YIPPEE, I'm connected to the world once again!

I have to say I have been more productive in the evenings. I have cleaned closets, done mending that has been sitting around way too long, and actually folded my laundry on the same day I washed it.

A few other highlights:

1. Went snow shoeing. SO MUCH FUN! A few weeks ago when I was in Utah, Lisa took me on a 2 hour adventure. She lent me some warm clothing, borrowed me some gear, and we went for a snow hike. This is something I could really embrace if I lived in the snow.

2. I re-made a dress. I wanted to see if I could pull off a re-do AND be brave enough to wear it in public. This is a dress I bought at a thrift store when I was in Ohio last month. It was a frumpy dress but had potential. This is what it looked like before:I turned it inside out and took it in to fit me. Then I cut about 8 inches off the bottom and sewed some black lace at the hem. With the 8 inches I cut off, I created a ruffle and sewed it down the front. It needed some more bling so I added some buttons I had on hand. The belt was also a thrift store find. Total cost? $10.00! What do you think?

3. And finally, I have met with several students at the college...disciplined them and even kicked a few out for the semester. I've had to deal with some real knuckle heads! How do people get themselves into such predicaments?

Anyway, I'm glad to be back!!!
