Learning, learning, learning

Tucker is learning so many new skills. She's learning more body parts, some animal sounds, and already starting to "memorize" some of her favorite books. Here's some videos to show off her new skills. :)

New Armoire

I have had my eye on this armoire since we lived in Baton Rouge, but it was quite a bit out of our price range. A month or so ago, I walked into Hobby Lobby and saw that it was on "final sale" clearance for $450 less than the original price. The reason? The molding on the top of the sides has worked its way a little bit loose - nothing that I couldn't fix by myself in about 15 min. or less. That's a heck of a discount for such a minimal thing. I'm most excited about it because it's HUGE, and since our living room is two stories tall, it needs a HUGE armoire. Yipee!!!

This last shot is to show you how big this thing is. Look at the size of it in relation to the windows.

Tutus

I decided that for football season, I would make Tucker some team colored tutus. (To this I received eye-rolls from Drew, but it's not the first time one of my "crafty ideas" has gotten this treatment and I'm sure it won't be the last.) The idea sprang from my need for pants that can go for both Bama and LSU at the same time for game days. (I have had onesies made for the top half on these days.) I decided I could make a fun tutu with sections in Bama colors and sections in LSU colors to wear with her "Mommy says Roll Tide! Daddy says Geaux Tigers!" and "Roll Tigers Roll!" onesies. (For those of you who don't know, little girl tutus in crazy colors are THE thing right now on the internet, so I figured WHY NOT?!?) My first attempt was a Milton colored tutu (Drew's school) for her to wear to ballgames and concerts (to which I got a "TO A FOOTBALL GAME?!?). HAHA! Once I discovered I could make them, I figured it wouldn't hurt anything to try to sell them since they're so in. I've already got 2 orders and 2 craft fair type shows to take them to sell. Pretty cool. I'm getting pics of T in all the tutus for her size. (I'll be making "big girl tutus" for older children - not plus sized women - also.) Thought I'd share some of these with you because they are really cute! (Please excuse her toplessness in the Milton tutu. That shirt's still under construction.)

"Let's go DIS way, Mommy!"

Action shot, but I love her expression here. She was TOTALLY going to GET me! :)

THAT'S my girl!

Bow on the butt

Taking off

She began patting the tulle - very cute!

This was her first go in a tutu in a while. She kept her arms up away from the tulle for a long time before relaxing into it. haha!

Buster Browns

Tucker (and Drew) started back to school today. *And by school I mean Daycare, of course.* We got her her first pair of "school shoes" this year because she needed some good tennis shoes for all this walking she's doing. I, being the scrapbooker I am, wanted to take pictures of the box and shoes before putting them on her this morning. She decided, however, that pictures of a plain ol' box weren't fun at all and that I should take pictures of her discovering her new shoes. I'm glad she helped me out! :)
"I'm not sure about these..."
Cute shoes for cute feet
Off she goes!!
She kept sitting back down to re-inspect the shoes. :)

All ready for school, but she wouldn't put her milk down for a picture. ha!
I think she sensed the leaving me for the day aspect of this morning. She was hugging constantly and very clingy all morning. Sweet, sweet baby! *We'll pretend that I didn't need the extra hugs and clinginess too.*

Get your motors running! Head out on the highway!

Looking for adventure and whatever comes my way!!!
At our Sunday School party on Saturday, there were many new "big kid" toys for Tucker to experience. This tricycle was JUST her size (minus using the petals, of course). She really enjoyed riding it!

Look out, world!!!

Randomness

"Tucker, Where's your head?"
"Tucker, where's your foot?"

She loves Whiney (her horse).

Uh-oh Spaghettio!

I mentioned before Tucker's love of throwing things down/knocking things over and saying, "Uh-oh!" Well, here it is. She's also learning some body parts. She almost always identifies "head", probably 80% of the time identifies "foot", and about 50% of the time can identify anyone's nose but her own. (If you say, "Where's your nose" she usually grabs your nose, not hers.)

New Toy?

Posted by Picasa

Basket Lover

Tucker has discovered that being IN her toy basket is as fun as playing with any of the toys normally stored there. Today she went in and out and stood up and down in the basket. It was really funny and grew even funnier as unexpected consequences showed themselves. tee-hee

An Unexpected Consequence of going up and down and in and out of the basket :-D

Other than the obvious in the video, please note that she understands "sit down" (from bathtime where she hears it over and over and over again) and that she's now an expert kiss blower. haha!

Leah's Wedding

Two of our good friends from Baton Rouge married each other this weekend. Drew sang in the choir at the ceremony and I was a bridesmaid. The wedding was in Charleston and we had a fun, long weekend celebrating Leah and Justin. Here's a very small clip of pics from the weekend including the few shots of preview from the official photographer.
Here's a family shot at the reception

This picture was my idea. We were all being silly with the second photographer's attention while the main photographer was taking serious pics with the happy couple.

The obligatory cheesy pic of "the couple is kissing too long". :)

The ladies trotting through sprinkles between the getting ready place and the sanctuary. :)

With one of the other bridesmaids pre-ceremony. (I promise we ARE wearing dresses. tee-hee)

Gulf Shores 2009

The entire McKee clan headed to Gulf Shores for a week. It was babies everywhere! It was VERY relaxing and much fun. It's been years since I've spent more than a day or two with Scott and it was the first time Tucker and Carly spent more than a couple of days together. It was delightful chaos. :)

The Fam on the 4th :)

All week long, she pointed at all sorts of random things and said, "Mama," with the true belief in her eyes that she was correctly identifying the object. :)

Woah!

Pushing her own stroller

Blue eyes, anyone?

Tucker and her audience

Tucker's themes for this week? Climbing and hats

I love sweet baby feet!

Melt my heart!!!

She was so into the ocean this time, she kept dragging us farther in. :)

"This is SO much fun!!"

"WEEEEEEEE!"

The Whole Crew

She finally stopped crying, but she still wasn't thrilled about it. :)

Sweet Carly

Tucker became a bulldozer. :)

This is my favorite pic of the two girls. So cute!

Tucker: "I LOVE sand!!!"

That's my baby! The world's most precious goober. haha

This is my favorite picture of Carly. I love that it's off-centered and I love that she finally touched the sand, but only with ONE finger. haha!

Beautiful girls!

Tucker clapping for herself. :)

"Wha' HAppened?!?"

Scott: "Yes, Carly, we don't have ENOUGH pictures of you crying yet." hahaha!

Bad influence or good? Not quite sure yet. :)

Out

We discovered this week that Tucker gets carsick. :(
