A: "Ethan, please stop jumping on me, I don't want to wrestle."
E: "I have to jump on you daddy."
A: "No, you do not need to jump on me."
E: "Yes, I do because girls are too intelligent to wrestle."
"Mom, if you would let me do whatever I want we wouldn't have to fight."
"Mom, you look cool today. Girls aren't cool, why do you want to dress like a boy?"

Escalation
So, for the two people that still read, my mom and my sister, you will appreciate this. If you are someone else, I guess I better give some background information. Ever since I was little I have been a target. Birds love me... well they love to poop on me that is. If you are thinking that is gross, you are right. I don't even know how many times I have been pooped on at this point, but it is a lot. Someone tried to tell me it was good luck once. I don't see how being an avian restroom is good luck by any stretch of the imagination. Yesterday though the skies decided to up the anti, apparently I was missing something because I was hit by a squirrel. Yup, that is right. While I was enjoying the shade at the park a squirrel fell on me or jumped on me, I am not sure which. Seriously, I might prefer the poop. At least it didn't fall on the baby who I was holding at the time and hit my shoulder rolling off onto the ground. I think it was stunned because it kind of laid there for a second before climbing a couple feet off the ground and trying to chew me out. Like it was somehow my fault. I am just hoping I don't have flees now or something. So sick. How does this happen? I think I should just start carrying an umbrella everywhere I go from now on. Consider this your warning, you may not want to stand too close to me when I am outside.
Lately
I just thought I would quickly make a note of my day yesterday. I need to be better about marking milestones in my children's lives so at least I will have a small one here. To start with P is now rolling from his back to his front. The movement begins. I am proud of the little guy but now I have to worry a whole lot more about him getting things and moving. He is growing well and I can hardly believe how fast he is changing.
E is a busy three year old. He is smart and likes to try new things, especially if it means jumping and climbing on things or making messes. He also loves to draw pictures and do craft projects. It is about all I can do to keep him entertained. He also likes to insist he is nocturnal when we try to get him to go to bed. Luckily he eventually is just so tired he can't keep his eyes open any more. He is also a great big brother and loves having a baby around. He is always trying to help or get things for the baby and loves to give him hugs and kisses.
In other news, Aaron is about to start research which means he will have a better schedule for a couple years. We are really looking forward to have more family time and having more time to work on the house.

Merry Christmas
I just wanted to take a minute to say Merry Christmas if you still actually bother checking our blog. I don't blame you if you don't, it isn't like we update very often. This last year has been busy for us, Aaron has been working away and I have been taking care of things at home. Now we are just trying to prepare for our new arrival that should be here in the next 6 weeks sometime. I am amazed at how much more quickly this pregnancy has gone than the last one. I am good and sick of being pregnant already, but I guess there isn't much I can do about it. I told Aaron I wanted a catheter, three days sleep and a crane to lift my oversized pregnant booty up for Christmas. He didn't take my request seriously. Looks like someone is going to get coal for Christmas.
Ethan has just been growing and becoming more independent. Yesterday I walked into the bathroom to find him stripped down to his underwear scrubbing himself with a wet toothbrush. He was so proud of himself and told us he was getting himself all clean. It is funny how kids perceive things. I wish I could freeze time and keep him from getting older. He also tells Aaron that he is an old man, but mommy is new and is not old. He is pretty excited to be a big brother so hopefully the transition from one to two will not be too horrible. He has started drawing actual pictures lately as well which I can't get enough of. This is a picture he drew of the two of us. Apparently the big blob at the top is me and those aren't legs, those are tentacles. The little happy cute blob is Ethan.

I almost forgot
Ethan is pretty much potty trained. While in Iowa, something clicked and by the time we came home Ethan was pretty much done potty training. I still keep him in pull-ups most of the time, but he rarely has an accident. I am so proud of my little man for finally doing it. I am super excited not to have to worry about diapers for a while.
Grandma's Visit
I know these will be in the wrong order, but well, at least you are getting something. Right before we headed to Iowa, my mom came out for a visit over Mother's Day. It was good to see her and have her spoil us! Ethan loved making Grandma sit in the back of the car with him and read stories to him. As soon as she got out of the car at the airport to head home, Ethan told me he missed Grandma already. I wish we lived closer so we could see each other more often.
