Blog Hiatus
I interrupt this 2 month blog hiatus to let everyone know we are still alive. The last 2 months have been insane, to put it lightly. I have lots of updates, pictures...etc...and little time. I plan on spending some time this weekend catching up...so stay tuned! We are still here, happy, and well, and miss everyone!

Feeling kinda Swanky
So yesterday, I was starting to regret my decision to work (I wasn't scheduled to, but I need the money, and extra hours, and thought why not?) When I got into work, I found out that they had sent us the 757 that morning for the LA flight, when we were supposed to have the 767-300. It was unplanned, obviously, there was some kind of mechanical problem or something with the 300, but nontheless, the 757 is 50 seats less than the 300....which means, we were oversold by 50 seats. You can imagine how unhappy passenegers were. I was actually a little shocked, because those that were flying to the east coast had the option to leave 2 1/2 hours later, fly directly to Atlanta and then connect from there, plus receive a $400 voucher per person for travel with meal vouchers, but not many were interesteed or willing. So, what happened when we worked the gates? We had a bunch of in voluntary passengers who didn't have seats. It was a complete nightmare boarding the flight because there would be members of families or parties that had seat assignments, and then the others wouldn't, so the ones with the seat assignments didn't want to go on board until they knew the other members of their parties were getting on, etc..and then we'd go on board, see what seats were open, release the seats, and then the passengers who originally had the seats would be furious because they just lost their seats! Oh the life of working for the airlines. Back to the point of the story, so by the time I was boarding passengers on the flight, I had about had it with the rude people, they were rude at check in, and rude at the gates... but kept my "smile and wave" face on....(as hard as it was). We had boarded just about everyone, and I was waiting to hear from my co worker over the radio what seats were open, I was looking down, when all of a sudden I hear this, "Excuse me Ma'am. I'm so sorry to bother you, but I just had a quick question for you, before I go wait in the line at the podium." I look up, and I'm not kidding you, it's Hillary Swank! I'm trying to keep my composure, but really inside I'm dying because I LOVE her! I'm stunned at how beautiful she actually is in real life, because she doesn't always look so beautiful on camera or even in pictures. She was scheduled to take an American Airlines flight out, that was delayed 2 hours, and she was freaking out because she was supposed to work last night, and was going to be late. (of course she's not REALLY freaking out...but..) she was coming over to see if there were any open seats on our flight. I kindly told her no, and told her what had happened, etc. Anyway, she ended up hanging out at the gate with me, and we talked for 30 minutes about the most random things! Her boyfriend John Campisi was with her as well, and he was so nice. Not that it was shocking that she was so nice, it was a breath of fresh air to KNOW she is SO nice. I couldn't believe how nice and respectful she is, and also, thinking back to our conversation, it felt like I was just talking to one of my friends. I asked her if she was out working or vacationing, and she said they were there on vacation, they had stayed at the 4 Seasons in Kona. She asked so much about me, and my life, and where I was from, and that kind of stuff...I was suprised. I was sad I didn't have my camera with me, but also, I didn't want to be an annoying fan, or papparazzi.... so I kept the conversation as normal as possible...but really...you KNOW i was dying inside! Anyway, I googled pictures of her trip to Hawaii and this is really all I could find of her, and her boyfriend. Sorry about the bikini pic...but it's all I got! Thanks for being the bomb Hil! (You know, cuz now I have the B.F.F. necklace! lol)

Jake's Tot Lot
This is the new favorite park to take the kids to San Jose. It's called Jake's Tot Lot, which just happens to be RIGHT next to the new, beautiful library they just redid and updated within the past few years. This park is wonderful for little kids and even fun for older (there is a small climbing rock for older kids to "rock climb on"...etc. They have swings which of course we know my kids love, and then they have this larger size tetter totter, a little train to play in, of course the regular playground, and then an entire sand area that has water in it, so the kids can actually build sand castles in. Of course Gigi had to make an emergency trip down to Safeway to get the sand toys, which were in Hawaii. They kids had such a great time. We took them 2 days in a row, first day not bringing bathing suits which we quickly found out were a necessity since they had the spouting water from the ground, fun effect right outside the playground area. (Like a mini of the one outside of the Fairmont downtown San Jose.) Anyway, we had a great time, and there were lots of other moms with their kids there too. We even met a beautiful girl named Savannah who was on the tetter totter with the kids, who was also 3, and who was also born on 06/13/05! What are the chances?
I'm not sure if Luke was being camera shy here, or mad because he wasn't in the "chair swing"!

Noodles = New Found Sense of FREEDOM!
On Monday, the kids and I were in San Jose at my parents house, and we decided to take them for a swim. My mom busted out the noodles, and all of a sudden, Livi didn't want anyone near her in the pool. She wanted to swim all by herself! Luke didn't share quite the same enthusiasm. He wanted to swim with the noodle, but with someone near. Here is a quick clip of them swimming, along with some pictures.

Birthday Weekend Continued...
Friday, I got to spend all day with my good friend Julie, catching up, shopping, some chipotle, golden spoon....and of course pedicures! Can you believe I went 8 months without having one? There just really aren't any decent places that are close to where I live, to get one...so I enjoyed every minute of the one I got! It was really nice to be able to just hang out with no kids, and catch up on life, and EVERYTHING. We just don't get to talk as much as I'd like to due to time differences and busy busy lives. Thanks Julie for such a fun carefree day!
After my fun filled day with Julie, I headed down to San Diego to spend the next two nights with my best friend Sunny, and good friends Rea and Laurie, who flew down from Northern California, and I met a new very fun friend Annie, who flew in from Connecticut. Sunny bought a new home back in April, and has worked very hard on making it her very own little place. It looks great, and I am just so proud of her and her accomplishments!
We spent ALL day Saturday cleaning and preparing for her house warming party that night. It was fun to see a lot of old friends I hadn't seen in forever! Here are a few pictures!
Rea, Lindsay, Me, Laurie
This is Lindsay. I LOVE her! She is also a Nor Cal transplant. We had a class together in high school her senior year, my junior, and we managed to get kicked out EVERY DAY. Not something I am too proud of, but then again, we can't stop laughing about it every time we get together. She and her fiance are going to be moving to Colorado, where the rest of her family is now, and we are going to miss her dearly!

Happy Belated Birthday to ME!
For my 30th this year, I really wanted to go to Southern California and see some of my best girlfriends. I was in need of a nice girls weekend, and talked it over with Nathan and was able to go last week. I worked a week ago Wednesday night, and then took our last flight out to LAX for what was supposed to be a 4 day trip. The first day, I headed down to Murrieta/Temecula and got to spend the day with Jenn. It was so much fun. I couldn't believe it had been 8 months since I had seen her, or any of my friends in the area, really. First place I had to head was Target. It certainly is a different life when you don't have the luxury of going there whenever you want. I seriously felt like Jenn for a minute, and had to make a list of all the places I needed to go, etc. We went to eat at Rubio's, one of my all time favorites, and one place I'm not fortunate enough to frequent considering we don't have one on the island. There were lots of other places I would have like to go, and things I would have liked to do, but I didn't sleep well on the red eye the night before, and needed a serious nap before the Disco Party! That's right!
The Super Freaks
I loved seeing my "little" friends too! I really missed my darling little kids that night though, because I knew they would have LOVED being there! Especially little Livi.
