Beach visit
We took the littlest two on their first visit to the beach on Thursday, right after I had been to church. Which is a bit disgraceful as we only live 20 miles away from the beautiful, wild Northumbrian coast. They absolutely loved it (as did Sally), although maybe not as much as mama did! I adore the sea. It feeds my soul, it grounds me, it makes me feel complete. It brings me back together if I feel myself falling apart. I do love the sea in summer but my favourite time to be down by the sea is winter. There is something about the rawness that draws me in.

A strange sort of day...
We were going to take s peek inside this church as I have an obsession with Church of Wngland churches and their architecture, but there was a sign staying no dogs were allowed, so we didn't bother!
Too windy mama! The wind was awful yesterday. I really dislike wind, it hurts my ears, and breaks my plants!
I saw the sweetest little car...anyone know what it is? Or what era it's from?
We came home after nursery and did some gardening. We watered the tomato plants, and watered the cucumber plants. We ignored the weeding, and left it for Daddy ;)
So that was our day! I would have posted this post last night, only my phone decided to die, and my carefully typed out post disappeared into the ether, grrr.
See you next time!

Return to blogging after a reeeeeeally long time....
Three years in fact. And wow, how time changes life! We have moved house three times since I last posted, we had identical twin boys last year, finlay was diagnosed with cancer when he was 15 months old and endured ten cycles of chemo and a course of brachytherapy. I suffered badly with severe pnd with finlay, Richard set up his own Arboriculture company, Lewis decided he wanted to try Middle School, my lovely nana died. So much has happened, some awful times, but many good moments too. I feel we have grown so much closer as s family, and in particular, Richard and I have grown so much more together as a couple. No longer do I feel like a child in charge of a house and a child, I feel like a mum, a homemaker; I feel I've grown into me. As I sit here in front of the woodburner listening to the rain lashing down on the windows, and the wind howling down the chimney, I'm thinking I'm glad to be me.
Please pop back, I promise I will update often. I miss blogging. And rambling 😉

Merry Christmas to all!
Merry Christmas to everyone here in blog land! What a difference 18 months or so make! This time last year they weren't sure if I would make it to 9 months, as Lewis had an infection which they thought may have passed to me and Finlay, and of course, no one could tell me what was happening all through Christmas and New Year. This, looking back, was probably the beginning of me going downhill very rapidly, which left me in hospital when Fin was 7 weeks old. Of course, I got better, and can safely say I am back to my old self! Took a while, but I did it! So needless to say, this Christmas has been amazing in more ways than one...Lewis and Fin's first Christmas together, our first Christmas in our new house...wonderful :) So, a few photos to share with you...
Fin eating his Chistmas book whilst wearing his reindeer suit for Christmas Eve.
Lewis and Finlay wearing their new Christmas Eve pyjamas ready for Santa coming.
Lewis and his new hand-knitted Dennis the Menance jumper :)
Opening a gift...
Dad's dinner covered in gravy!
Getting the hang of the whole Christmas thing ;)
Yum yum :)
Hope you all had a wonderful day :)

House move and new starts
We have left the old house behind. The keys have been handed back and we are settling into our new house. Its so lovely to have a *clean* house, with windows we can open, to be able to hang our washing on the line, and to have heating. Things people take for granted, and I feel so much more relaxed and content. Its a council house, and it's overooking the sea. I forgot how much I missed the raucous call of seagulls, and its wonderful to feed Fin in he early hours of the morning and be able to hear the waves crashing on the rocks. I will have to take some photos and get them posted.
Some photos as a bit of a catch-up...
