Christmas Tag #6

Hello friends!

It's time for tag #6!

This one is a button tag!

To start, cut out a tag shape from patterned paper. I am using The Peppermint Collection by Crate Paper. I love this doily patterned Christmas paper.

I took a pink colored pencil and outlined some of the doilies

 to make them stand out more.

Freehand cut a couple strips of paper and snip the ends to create little banners. Make 1 smaller than the other. Cut or make a button card. Several scrapbook companies have paper featuring button cards, this one also comes from the Peppermint collection by Crate Paper. Ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Layer the 2 banner shapes together and glue along the left side of the tag. Add the button card to the center.

Add a piece of scrapbook paper to the center of the button card.

Add a small doily to the center of the button card. I am using doilies from Martha Stewart's craft line at Michaels. I love these!

Cut 4 small circles or other shape from cardstock and glue pink buttons to the center.

Glue the buttons to the tag. Add a small paper peppermint cut to the center.

Add your Christmas sentiment beneath the button card.

Dye seam binding with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and tie a bow at the top of the tag.

Take liquid pearls or adhesive pearls and add them along the bottom of the tag.

Cut a holly shaped leaf from song sheet paper and ink green. Add a small paper rose to the leaf and glue in the lower left corner of the button card.

It's done!

 This tag would be easily adaptable for a non Christmas project.

Christmas Tag #5

Hello friends!

It's time for tag #5 of my 12 tags of Christmas.

This tag features a cute vintage couple image.

Start by printing this vintage image and cutting it out.

Cut your tag shape. I gave my tag a rounded top.

Cover the upper half of the tag with pink patterned paper.

Cover the rest of the tag with red patterned paper.

Add another smaller pattern to the center of the tag.

Cut a small pink tree from cardstock. Adhere to the tag.

Punch a border from green cardstock and adhere along the bottom of the tag.

Take a white gel pen and add stitch marks around the edges of the tag.

Adhere the vintage couple to the center of the tag.

See how I centered the tree between the couple and not the tag?

I then added small adhesive white pearls to the tree.

Next, I tucked a white cardstock snowflake behind the girl.

Add your Christms sentiment across the top of the tag.

Add a red ribbon bow to the top of the tag and it's done!

Christmas Tag #4

Hello friends!

Are you ready for another tag?

This tag features this bright, fun vintage card.

Print and cut Santa and grab your tag.

Ink your tag with Vintage Photo Distress ink to give it an aged look. Stamp snowflakes along the top and bottom of the tag. I used a stamp from Inkadinkado.

Take a colored pencil and outline the stamped areas.

Take red Liquid Pearls or adhesive bling and add pearls of color in the centers of the snowflakes.

Add red and black glitter glue to outline Santa's outfit.

Glue to the center of your tag. Cut a strip of paper and cut it into a banner shape. Glue to the back of the tag. Tie a bow using dyed seam binding and your tag's done!

Christmas Tag Tutorial #3

Hello friends!

It's number 3 today of my 12 days of Christmas tags!

For this tag you start by printing and cutting out this vintage card image.

Now take a manila tag or cut a tag shape to 3 x 6, and a couple scraps of christmas paper. I used Cosmo Cricket's Mr Claus snowflake pattern.

Cut and glue paper to the top and bottom of tag.

Cut another piece of scrapbook paper to fit the center of the tag. I tore the paper along the bottom to give it a more aged look.

Take Vintage Photo Distress Ink and ink around the edges of the tag.

Take a white gel pen and draw stitch lines around the edge of the tag.

Cut a strip of wide lace ribbon the size of your tag.

Glue to the center of the tag.

Take red glitter glue to add sparkle around the vintage image.

Now take pink crepe paper and scrunch it up and add along the bottom of tag.

Add ribbon along the top edge of the crepe paper.

Now glue the image down to the center of the tag. I added a Martha Stewart doily to the upper left corner. Then add a pink flower to the image.

Take a paper snowflake and glued to the lower right corner and added a stick pen through the ribbon on the tag and centered it in front of the snowflake.

Add pink ribbon to the top of your tag. I used pink dyed seam binding.

It's done!

I just love the vintage card I used for this tag! I would love to have some of the cute tree ribbon from the card! Cute!

Christmas Tag Tutorial #2

Hello friends!

Here is the second of my Twelve Tags of Christmas.

A tree shaped tag!

I started by cutting out a tree shape on to cardstock. Punch a small hole at the top for your ribbon.

I then took Tim Holtz snowflake tissue tape and covered the tag.

You can find his tissue tape at most craft stores. You could also stamp snowflakes across the tag.

Now cut off the excess tape.

Ink the tag lightly with red ink.

Fan fold a small strip of paper to create a paper rosette.

Glue rosette to the lower center of the tag.

Then cut a small paper scallop for the center of the rosette.

Tie red ribbon through the top of the tag and tie into a bow.

Add a Christmas sentiment to the center of the rosette and glue chunky white glitter around the edges of the tag. I used Martha Stewart's Snow glitter.

It's done!
