It's Time For The Red, White & Blue

I love this time of year when I get out my red, white and blue decor for the cubbies!
Happy 4th of July
I was excited to find this Statue of Liberty in the thrift shop.  I visited Miss Liberty once back in the 70's and it is an amazing sight!
This Liberty Bell is a pencil sharpener.
I've never seen the Liberty Bell but maybe one of these days!
A few more things on the other shelf make this a very patriotic display!
But not all the red, white & blue in this house if 4th of July,
they are also the colors of my birth state....Texas!
I love my Texas state and Bluebonnet collection!
A recent find are these cute red boots....but they have more importance then that...they were mine when I was a little girl.  Seems that my brother had them but they have now found their way home.
Somewhere in the pile of photos I brought home from my Mom's, there is a pic of me wearing them.  I will find it and put a print of it next to these cute boots.

I'm joining my good friend Kathe for
and
Brenda for Tweak It Tuesday

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

A Few New Things!

Before leaving for Texas last month, I added a few things to my home!  The walls have been pretty bare but it's time to add some things and make it home.
I don't have coat closet in my duplex and I wanted somewhere to hang a few things as I came in the door.  This mirror with hooks was something I've had for years but never hung it.
I really love it and hung my Eiffel Tower bag from Ballard Designs there!

This corner of the room is starting to come together.  My newest addition is this great clock!
I love the colors, textures and of course it says Paris!  This clock was bought on sale at World Markets online!
A couple of the cubbies hold birds and egg cups!
I think I'll be changing them soon to
Red, White & Blue!

I am planning to get some prints of Paris printed soon and hung in the living room.  Just have to find the time.  Mom is living in her apt now and all her stuff is here.  Too much stuff and we are still unpacking and trying to figure out what to keep and what to donate.  I'm taking a break this weekend and watching Tiger while his Dad works and his Mom is visiting her sister in Cali!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Hello World!!

Hello Blog World!
It's me Linda!

I am finally back in Georgia.  Mom is with me!
The last few weeks were intense but we made it here.
The moving container was delivered on June 2nd
Here it is empty!
Here it is packed.  We added several more things after the packers left...of course!
The container was picked up on June 6th
Then came the moving sale....it was only so so successful.  So much left and we finally had to get someone to clean out the remaining items.
It was the best birthday gift ever!  I was so tired, but we still went to Outback to celebrate my 64th Birthday on June 9th
My Mom, me, Patrick, Cousin Joletta, Cousin Karen and Aunt Betty
(my cousin Heather took these photos)
Here I am with my birthday dessert...but what you don't see in this photo is.........

Patrick (Heather's husband) trying to steal my ice cream!
We had a great time!

A few more days of closing things up with the house, lots of goodbyes and we left Texas for Georgia.  Two days on the road and finally....
I'm Home!

We toured Mom's apartment, bought some new furniture and tonight she is spending her first night in her new apt.
The moving container will be delivered next week, but I am letting someone else unload.
I'll help unpack boxes of course.
We do know we packed too much, but another round of editing and Mom should be mostly settled by the end of June.

I have missed all of you so very much!
I've tried to visit your blogs and post a few quick messages on Facebook, but I'm not sure I've ever been this tired in my life.
I have missed blogging, and hope to return to posting on a regular schedule!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda
