Madison's Future Career Choices
- Primary School Teacher
Primary school teachers develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children, according to age, ability and aptitude. Education requirements vary, but almost always include a Bachelor's degree and completion of an approved teacher training program with a prescribed number of subject and education credits, as well as supervised practice teaching. Some skills needed include being good with kids, enforce discipline. The median annual wage for elementary school teachers in 2013 was $53,590.
2. Meteorologist
Another possible career choice for me would be a meteorologist, since I have always been interested in the weather. A meteorologist is an individual with specialized education who uses scientific principles to explain, understand, observe or forecast the earth's atmospheric phenomena and/or how the atmosphere affects the earth and life on the planet. They basically study the weather. This specialized education would be a bachelor's or higher degree in meteorology, or atmospheric science. A skill needed to be successful in this career would include being good in science. Meteorologists are typically paid $90,860 a year.
3. Dance Instructor
Ever since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of becoming a dance teacher. I have danced since I was three years old, and have competed since I was five. You can't teach dance without plenty of experience as a dancer yourself. You'll need to be able to demonstrate techniques to students, show how to safely execute maneuvers and break down each dance move into smaller steps. At some smaller dance schools, a little bit of dance experience might be all you need to teach. It's helpful to get experience in several forms of dance if you want to make a full-time living teaching. This way, you can teach a variety of age groups and several different classes. Larger dance schools may require you to have a bachelor's degree. According to my research, the average dance instructor/teacher in the United States earns approximately $20.85 per hour.
