Bunny Tutorial over at Someday Crafts!

The perfect camera bag

 

 I love my camera, I take it everywhere! I have a very nice camera bag that works great when I need lens options and a possible flash, but what about all those times when I just need my camera and the lens I keep on it at all times (my Minolta 50mm 1.7) I usually just grab it an gently toss it in the backseat. Not the best idea. Now I have looked at several camera bags, but for 1 they are expensive, 2 not the right size, and 3 not at all cute! The other problem, I also have a vertical grip on my camera, so the smaller bags are too small.

So I made one! I used some great new fabric by Basic Grey, and made a functional, cute bag, just for my camera! 

 

I have pockets on the outside for things like extra battery's, memory cards, etc. But I also made a camera strap cover that also goes with my bag. I added a little pocket to the strap to keep the lens cap, my pocket isn't the best place for that! 

 

Now my camera will be well protected when I just need to grab and go, and there is even some extra room for one more lens, just in case!

My spring pillow line is done!

 

I have been busy painting, stamping & sewing making my new line of recycled pillows for spring!

 

I have had so many ideas, and I am so happy to have them done! 

 

All the designs are done by hand, by me! I used my cricut and freezer paper to make the stencils. What a great combination! 

 

Some are stamped, like this cute little bird on a tree branch!

 This one is my favorite! I made it from recycled curtains! I love the buttons!!

They are all currently available in my shop, there are many other styles available!

Craft room complete & a tutorial for a metal wall board.

 

 This is the last time I am going to do this, (I hope!) 

The room is done, I made some small but great changes to my layout. 

Every craft has it's own section in my room, and now everything has a place, so that my work island can stay clear. The first thing I did was to create a better space for my paper crafting. This is all the stuff I normally keep out on my island and back counter, and then when I need the space, everything gets shoved here and there, creating a huge mess!

 

 I added 2 shelves and moved my metal wall board down. I had the hardware, I just needed to buy 2 shelves, and that was the only purchase I made! This is where I keep everything for paper crafting. Stamps, ink, paper, accessories, etc.

 

I love my metal wall board, here is how I made it. You will need 2 strips of wall board cap, and 2 pieces of flat sheet metal found in the duct work section, much cheaper than sheet metal sheets! 

 

Cut 2 pieces of the plastic wall board cap 60 inches on for the top, one for the bottom.

Measure the width of your sheet metal, I cut mine to 15 inches. Tape the strips up to your wall, use a laser lever to make sure they are straight! I placed mine 14 inches apart. Once they are in place, drill holes into the plastic for you nails so the plastic doesn't crack. Nail them in place. I used 4 on each strip and I also left the tape to help keep it in place.

 

Slide your sheet metal into the 2 strips, I used 2 pieces, so slide on all the way to the other end, and insert your second piece. Now cut 2 more plastic strips 15 inches long to cap off the ends. Sheet metal is very sharp, so this will keep all exposed ends covered!
 

That's it! Now get some fun magnets and put up whatever you want! I love mine. I use it all the time! Total cost is less than $20! 

Now for the rest of the room! 

Sewing has become a huge part of my business lately, so I needed a better place for all of my supplies. So this corner is all dedicated to my sewing. (and Keith)

 

Everything I need is at my finger tips. I also used my shelf for holding my freezer paper and heat and bond!
 

It is right above the iron, where I use it the most. I love all the great things you can do with freezer paper, and it's cheap!

Lots of storage bins to hold all my burlap and sweater scraps, help to keep the mess contained!

I should be all set now, I have lots of working room, and a home for everything, so I am hoping this room will stay in order now, but I doubt It! I will try it out and let you know! I have a lot of sewing to do today, so I better get a move on!

some changes need to be made

 Do you ever sit down to start a project and decide that your space is wrong for what you are currently doing?

I have a GREAT craft room, it's big, its full of storage, and I have lots of counter space. Everything a girl could ask for. But the set up is all wrong, (again) It is something I have worked on over and over again. I tend to go in crafty spurts and right now, I sew, A LOT. But my room is more set up for paper crafting. SO I am at it again, making some small simple changes that should make my room much more conducive to all my current sewing projects.

I love my magnetic board, but it really doesn't serve a purpose. Other than holding some really cute photos, so it's coming down.

I love this counter, but it is always full of stuff, no room to work. Changes are coming, minor changes, but I am determined to make the best use of my space as I can! Stay tuned! This one wont take me long!

Gadget Clutch

 

My mom hates that she can't find a holder for her IPOD touch, everything is made so that you can touch the screen, but what about when you want to put it in your purse or tote bag? Nothing really protects it from scratching or breaking. So I made these little gadget clutches. It has a pocket in the front for small things like a debit card, and some money, perfect for on the go shopping. I keep my blackberry in mine, it works great! It is lined with a light batting for extra cushion! I have a couple on my store, more designs to come soon!
