2007 Football Banquet

Michael had his end of the year football banquet where they recognized the seniors. Each Senior received a framed home jersey as a gift. It is beautiful but I have no idea where we will hang it in our tiny apartment. One day it will look nice in his office.
Michael's parents were able to join us at the Phoenician Resort for the banquet. ASU did a great job with the dinner and awards ceremony. As one of the captains Michael was asked to give a speech. He did a great job as always!
It is crazy to think that soon Michael will no longer play for ASU but we will always remain SUN DEVILS! Just a side note, Michael said he had the hottest date! Yeah Right!

Senior Game. Beat the CATS!

Before the game they introduced each senior one by one for the senior day festivities. There goes Michael exiting the tunnel. Every time I see this picture I get emotional.
Each players' families were down on the field to greet them for their final home game.
THE KICK IS BLOCKED! Oh, by who you ask? That's right, my sweet Michael was on fire and blocked the field goal attempt. If you did not already know we beat the Cats by three points.

This was right after he blocked the kick. Look at that face! How pumped is he?
After the game the fans swarmed the field and it was impossible to get anywhere. This is Michael getting interviewed by a reporter. Doesn't she have great hair? I love it.
Because Michael made the game winning play he was selected as the territorial cup MVP of the game! Unfortunately Michael does not get to keep the LARGE trophy because it is passed around each year. Michael said it weighed at least 100lbs. I am so proud of him for all of his hard work and dedication. He deserves all of this and more.

I AM SO THANKFUL!

This year we had a football game on Thanksgiving so we had a combined Thanksgiving with the Marquardts. Amanda was so nice to host the dinner at her home. The dinner was amazing and it was so fun to have everyone come visit Arizona. Thanks Amanda and mom for all your hard work.

The table was so pretty! Where else can you eat outside in the fall on Thanksgiving day? We just love Arizona!

Sweet Pete and Lilly

It was so fun to have the Marquardt Family with us this year!

One of Michael's biggest fans Em Morphy! Look at her sweet giggle!

The devils ended up winning! It is always so fun to see my sweetheart after the games!
Mere and I had tons of fun in the stands taking pics! What a babe she is?

More shots of Michael's family excited to greet him after the game.
Our friends Dave and Rachel made the road trip from AZ. I drove back with them later that night!

Trip to Southern California

Beat the DUCKS!

Michael's Grandma sent this to me today, I am not sure what it is being used for but I love it cause my Hubby is on the front! Go DEVILS Beat the DUCKS! Michael called tonight and he said the team arrived safely and the weather is a bit chilly. Michael was very excited this week to play Oregon. I will admit I was up with him Thursday night watching film on Oregon's O line until 12:30 am. I hate those big O line men that go against him but I know he can hold his own. I am so glad that for Michaels senior year we are having such a great season. I have really become a true sun devil fan FOR LIFE! I never really thought I would be able to switch over from the cougars but I am HOOKED! Hope you all can catch the game Saturday. I am still bummed I could not make it to the game but I will be cheering loud from our small apartment in AZ! Good Luck Michael!

Pumpkin Carving

A few nights ago Michael and I went to the gorcery store late at night and got a great deal on these pumpkins. We decided that a few nights before Halloween we would carve them up.

YUCK! First we had to clean out the guts and seeds from the pumpkins. You may all think my hubby is rough and tough but the second he smelled the inside of the pumpkin he got noxious and I had to scrape his pumpkin out for him. What a wuss but I still love him!

First test with the candles on our barstools. Try to guess who carved which one.

This is outside on our front porch. We are really proud of how they look. Vote for your favorite one in the comment section. My pumpkin is on the right and Mikey's is on the left. Happy Halloween!

Peter's 22 Birthday Party!

Our little brother Peter turned 22 last week and so when he was in town this weekend we celebrated with a birthday dinner at the Glenns house. We are so happy Peter got to come visit and spend some time in the nice weather here in Arizona. Amanda made a yummy cake while brothers Jordan and Michael helped him blow out his candles! We love our sweet pete

SUN DEVILS DO IT AGAIN 8-0 BABY!

We played Cal Berkley on Saturday October 27. Cal was favored to win but we knew the Sun devils would pull through and end up on top. We were so happy to have some visitors come to Arizona to see Michael play, the Morphy's from Huntington Beach, Peter from Utah, and Michael's dad from San Diego. And of course the Glenn's who now live in Glendale. The game was so exciting, the stadium was filled with Gold! The crowd was wild!

At the end of the game the crowd rushed the field. It was crazy. I have never seen anything like it. At least not in person. It was exhilarating.

The goal post did not end up coming down the security guards broke it up before it got out of control but Michael said that at practice the next day it was definitely crooked and it will have to be replaced. Michael did so well. We are very proud of him. The devils came up with a win 31-20! Cant wait for this week. We have the Oregon Ducks!! Cross your fingers.

Here is the only picture we could get of Petey, who also ran down on the field. I can't beleive he ran down there. Pete, you are crazy! He had a great time.

Tough Guy

Our first game of the season was against San Jose state and all the Morphys and Marquardts were in town. We parked our car in the usual spot and headed down to Mill Ave in downtown Tempe to grab something to eat before the big game. We were all decked out in our A state gear and were so excited for kick off. As we were walking all chatting about where to eat someone yelled out "Hey thats Mike!" We all looked up and on a light post was our sweet Michael on a banner. I barely reconized him with his "tough face" on. I can not wait till the season when we can get a banner and frame it. I am so proud of my honey for all the hard work he puts into fooball and school.

And where else would the Lord send him but next to his big brother in Phoenix Arizona! He meets in our same ward building but he is a member of the spanish branch. We love him so much and we are so proud of him for serving the Lord and baptizing TONS!! We miss him so much!
