This organization is a registered student organization of Cornell University.

Cornell University, and thus the Big Red Marching Band, is located on the traditional homelands of the Gayogo̱hó:nǫɁ (the Cayuga Nation). The Gayogo̱hó:nǫɁ are members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, an alliance of six sovereign Nations with a historic and contemporary presence on this land. The Confederacy precedes the establishment of Cornell University, New York state, and the United States of America. As members of the Cornell community and the BRMB, we acknowledge the painful history of Gayogo̱hó:nǫɁ dispossession, and honor the ongoing connection of Gayogo̱hó:nǫɁ people, past and present, to these lands and waters.

AUDITIONS THIS WEEK!

This Thursday and Friday (8/22/24-8/23/24) from 11am to 4pm we will have auditions and open house at the Fischell Band Center. Stop by if you are interested in joining, all levels of experience and interest welcome!

To join our ranks, send an email to our Public Relations Chairs (Michael "Doc" Neiss '27 and Abbie Harrison '26) and our Secretary (Abigail "Heck" Heck '27) with your name, preferred contact method, and instrument. We always welcome new members, no matter your experience or year in school. Our Section Leaders can even help you learn a new instrument!

A Message from the Head Manager

Hello! My name is Emily Jones, aka EJ, and I play the clarinet. I am in the class of 2025, and I am majoring in Biological Sciences in CALS and minoring in Infectious Diseases and Education. I am also the 2024 Head Manager of the Big Red Marching Band! Parts of my job include organizing events, writing itineraries, and making sure things are running smoothly. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at ecj36@cornell.edu! Now here are some important things I would like you to know about the BRMB:

- We encourage EVERYONE to audition! There is no musical or marching experience necessary. Whether you were the drum major of your high school marching band or never touched an instrument in your life, we gladly welcome you to our Big Red Family!

- The time commitment is whatever you want to make it! Once you join you are by no means obligated to come to everything. We understand Cornell provides a challenging workload, so come to rehearsals whenever you can. It’s always a fun way to destress!

- Missed the first couple of rehearsals, or the whole first semester? Don’t worry, it’s never too late to join!

- We encourage diversity and welcome anyone to join! We hope to see you soon :)
