8th grade graduation

Yah! Brianna graduated from 8th grade at Bob Miller along with her other 650 classmates. But I guess their graduation is all pending on how they do with their finals next week. School doesn't end until June 9th. It was soooooo long but only because there were so many awards for all the over achievers. We were surprised that Brianna got an award for going the extra mile in her geography class. After the awards they had a commencement graduation. The funnest part of the night is when we met Brianna's friends at Nelson's custard for a treat afterwards.

I guess because they are all grown up and graduated from 8th grade they are too good to sit with their families. haha

Photo Shoot with Valerie

While up in St. George over Easter weekend, we spent some time with Valerie Hart. She took some amazing pics of my kids. Sorry for the overload, it's hard to pick cuz I loved them all. Cord was doing a funky smile that he had NEVER done before which was strange. The girls loved the shoot on the blue stairs. I enjoyed the ones that captured their interests right now. They all capture their personalities. When I showed the pics to Mason he said "Wow, those are like.....real pictures! She should open a business or something". HaHa. Great job Valerie!! You can check out her other great shots at: http://valeriehartphotography.blogspot.com/

Guitar Awards Concert

Big guitar day for Chelsea. She has been working on a solo for seminary and today she was able to play it. In preparation she asked me if we could get up at 5:00 am and curl her hair. She looked so pretty. She said her solo went well. Then tonight was her awards concert. They played 3 of their favorite songs. After the soloists and advanced guitar played, it was time for awards. Chelsea lettered this year in guitar. So exciting. She has the "C", now she needs a jacket to put it on. We are really proud of all her hard work. It's a pleasure to watch her preform. After the concert she played some of her solos that she is learning in lessons. The display below was the guitar that they built from scratch in class this year.

Chelsea also has earned this cougar committment award for this school year.

8th grade dance

With 8th grade graduation right around the corner, I guess the school felt like it was time to let them cut loose and have fun. Tonight was the 8th grade dance. Bri found the right dress and with a few alterations it was perfect (it was even in Bob Miller colors). It's exciting to see her and her friends all dressed up and excited to have fun.

Mason's band concert

Mason has enjoyed band much more than he expected to. It's never a struggle to get him to practice. Tonight they had the end of year concert. They played "Eagle Summit March", "Ayre and Dance", and "Galatic Episode". His favorite piece was Ayre and Dance because it sounds really good. He also liked "Star Wars" that the Advanced band played. He is hoping to get the music so he can work on it over the summer. We are really proud of his hard work and it showed tonight!!! Good Job.
