I have been making some new bears and rats. This lovely boy is 22 cm tall :)

Just a Friday in Amsterdam

Did you know that Amsterdam has little streets in the centre of the city that hardly have any traffic, potted plants in front of every house and unexpected little shops where you can see an artist through the shopwindow, cutting leather to make a new handbag?

I called a friend after visiting the hospital on friday (no, nothing serious going on), and we spend the afternoon in the city. We had a great time!

I bought some wonderful fat quarters at this quiltshop for some doll dresses or perhaps something for a bear?
Tea and fresh warm bread to eat, a lot of talking, and a rather large artstore (according to Carla 'not the biggest, but it has the essentials') which had some new Sminck pastels for me  - and I managed (though with great difficulty) to keep my wallet closed at the sight of some gorgeous plates with little flowers on them... All in all a very nice day!

ps - and yes, there are bikes everywhere!

Mekare Bears Jeremya

Jeremya, before he got painted almost got a new head cause I didn't like this one. It is a good thing I listened to a friend and gave him some extra colour first, cause now I would not dream of beheading him... Now what to do with the new head I made?

This one is only 12 cm tall. I really like him in yellow.

Mekare Bears Jerome

Jerome is only 1 week old. It is fun to make bears again.

Rodolphus Rat

I make all my bears and critters by hand. I so admire people that can make them on the sewing machine. These little ones take me about 12 hours, the bigger bears longer. Anyway, making them fully by hand has it advantages in both the quality and the fun of making them. Handsewing is relaxing.

Pretty in Pink

I tried to make a bear like one i saw somewhere on the net. I failed at that task - but I do rather like the outcome, doesn't she look lovely in pink?
