Princess Mae

Macie has been so cute lately, almost every day she brings a princess dress to me and wants me to put it on her. She is so excited about it when she brings it to me and after I put it on her she grins so big. I think it is fun to watch babies so small and see how at even such a young age they like to feel good about themselves.

Bad Year

We have been slammed with sickness this year! We usually do pretty good and only get a couple things a year, but that has not been the case this year. Instead of a few things a year we have gotten a few things a month! Having 4 small kids and 2 of them going to elementary school does not help our situation out any. Hopefully this year had just been a rough year and next year will be a lot better. Thankfully we are getting to the end of the sick season.

Brielle has probably had the worst luck this year. She had the flu for over a week with temperatures of 104* F!! One of the mornings she ended up passing out and getting a fat lip when her face slammed into the floor. Poor Thing. A couple of weeks later she got strep throat, we got medicine for it and after a couple of days her whole body was plastered in an itchy rash, that's how we found out that she is allergic to penicillin.

Like Dad

We have a little boy in our house who wants to be just like his dad. Whatever Mike does he does. Whatever Mike thinks is cool he thinks it's cool.

Mike likes to wood burn, and is very talented at it. So Dakota thinks wood burning is cool and has taken up the new hobby.

He had Mike draw some pictures on wood so he could practice wood burning. I think it is cute how he wanted to line them all up and take pictures of them after. Come to think of it I also know somebody else who does that.

Mike

Mike had a birthaday, and turned 34!

And got a new job!!!

I'm so proud of him. He is such a great husband and father, and I am very lucky to be married to him.

Big Boy

Look who lost his first tooth!!!!!

Christmas 2012

I didn't do great at getting very many pictures of Christmas time this year, but I did get a couple. We went up Meadow canyon Thanksgiving morning to get our Christmas tree. We had to do a little bit more hiking and searching this year, but we eventually found a good one.

I didn't get a picture of our big tree, but this is the one the kids picked for the basement. After we found our tree we went to Grandpa and Grandma Jacksons for Thanksgiving dinner.

At the first of December we went into Fillmore to go to the light parade and let the kids sit on Santa's lap. Dakota asked for a ds.

Madison asked for princess stuff

And Brielle asked for a tablet

This is the only picture I got on Christmas day. And yes the tree was missing ornaments. I know it's bad but I will do better next year. But even with missing ornaments, and not very many pictures taken we still had a great Christmas! I am very grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ and the opportunity we have to remember His birth and try to focus more on Him this time of year.

Being in the Picture

I read an article the other day that made me think. It was about moms and how we never want to be in the pictures we take with our kids. We always tend to feel self concious, ethier we don't like the way we look because we feel like we still have to much baby weight on, or we aren't having a good hair day, or we look like a rag muffin that day, or a million other reasons. Or we are always the one who has to take the picture. I personally would much rather have pictures of the cute kids! But the article pointed out how by doing that our kids miss out on seeing us as we grow. They miss out on seeing how we interact with them, the way our face lights up when we are having a good time with them, or just having memories of their mom to be able to look at later in life and remember how their mom was. So I will try harder to be in the picture a little bit more, even if I am not super thrilled about it at the time, I want my kids to have those pictures of me to look back at and remind them of me and the love that I have for them.

Busy Boys

Dakota and Degan are quite the pair, they spent a whole evening working hard on this new bad guy trap. It was funny to listen to them talk as they made it, they were getting so excited about it and that is was the coolest thing ever. There won't be any bad guys getting into our house!

Little Moments

We happened to get really lucky to have a day that got up to 6o* so we took advantage of the nice day and went on a walk.

This is another one of those moments I want to bottle up and keep for ever, so one day when Madison is grown up I can take out the bottle and open it up and relive this moment for just a little while. Madison was riding her bike and she was peddling her little legs as fast as she could, and I wish I would have got a picture of the huge grin on her face, it was the cutest thing, you could tell she was having the time of her life and she really thought she was cruising. Her long blond hair was flying in the wind and she was yelling at the top of her lungs, WAHOO!! WAHOO!!! WAHOO!!! Oh the simple joys of a small child I just love the happiness that radiates from her.

Madison

Shayla took some pictures of Madison too. Oh my goodness Madison was all about getting her pictures done. She was throwing out poses left and right.

We see this cute little smile quite often around our house

And this is how excited she was about getting to wear a crown!
