Little 4 on the Door

So at the moment I'm a freelance artist/ nanny. I watch a 2 & and a 6 yr old twice a week. Every morning I take the 2yr old Lily, to daycare. Recently the day care lady asked me if i'd paint something on her door. This gig was a lot of fun!!! plus it came with a free meal. The day care lady is Nicaraguan and an incredible cook. That's lily at the door, she's my buddy!!!

Sister Girl

B-day gift for my grandma. I was trying to channel an Ezra Jack Keats feel in this collage. Keats is one of my favorite illustrators. His style is so raw, unique, warm , beautiful "i could go on and on".

Look what I Found

I found this Article on Ezra Jack Keats stapled to the inside of his book" A Letter To Amy". I didn't buy the book cause it was in pretty bad shape, but the store owner was kind enough to let me take the article. I'm sorry the articles all cropped off, my scanner is small. The paper is dated March 28, 1974, how cool is that? I think the headline says it all though.

BORZOI

Also known as Russian Wolf Hounds are officially my favorite dog breed. I had the chance to play with one in a park the other day. The dog was mesmerizing, and with out effort so elegant. Happy holidays Blogger folk!

Inspiration

This is a spread from Rosi Bednarik's children's book "Elefish". The book is about a young elephant who's not to happy about being on land. So then decides to live in the ocean with the fish. This book was illustrated using collage. That's my simple explanation for Bednarik's work. I think she also uses magic to make this stuff. Cause I'm definitely under a love spell with this book.

My cousin Aria is having a baby boy who's name will be Elijah. I wasn't able to make it to the baby shower so I'm hoping this gift will make up for my absents. making baby stuff is fun!!!
