Happy Birthday with a HUGE Cake

Hello, here's a fun birthday card, that is super-easy to make. I used a black cardstock base and stamped the cake plate, sentiment and candle images in white ink.  The cake itself was cut from raspberry fizz, hawaiian shores and harvest gold PTI felt using the Make a Wish die set.  I embellished the cake with Prima fairytale blossoms. The flames on the candles are colored with orange stickles.  This was really fun to make, and didn't take up much time at all. The Make a Wish stamp set and matching dies from PTI makes birthday card making sooooooo easy.  Have a great day!

Vintage Style

Happy Saturday Paper Maniac peeeeps.  Have you been enjoying our Vintage Week on the Paper Maniac Blog?? If you haven't stopped by yet, please check out all the awesome projects when you have some time, they are so inspiring!

Now, Vintage is not necessarily my style, so this week's assignment was a bit challenging for me. However, once I found my Echo Park "Be Mine" paper pack, I was having some good ideas.  This paper collection is full of vintage-y goodness!!  I paired the paper with the Unity Stamp Co stamp kit called Life Becomming (by Melody Ross).  Then, I just distressed the edges of the papers with a distressing tool and some vintage inks and sewed them onto the card front, which is Memory Box (Begonia).  I have become addicted to Memory Box papers for card bases.  The papers are colored on one side and white on the other!! How cool is that??

Well, I hope you have a great weekend!

Big Birthday Wishes

Here's a fun and cute birthday card I made for my amazing neice who celebrated her birthday on Monday! I know she's a fan of brighter color schemes, so I thought the awesome Love Me Do papers from My Minds Eye would create the perfect backdrop. I also had to add pops of hot pink stitching, and on the cake plate as well.

The stamped images come from the Make a Wish and Birthday Bash Sentiments sets from Papertrey Ink.  The cake pieces are cut from PTI Hawaiian Shores and Harvest Gold felt, using the Make a Wish dies. I used the SU scalloped border punch and the scalloped circle punch.

I followed MOJO 57 sketch, yes, this is an oldie sketch, but one I LOVE and revisit often. Mojo sketches can be found at http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/

Love, Love, Love You

Hey everyone- here's another super-easy card I made using the Little Bitty Bird stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  I freaken LOVE this stamp set, I think I have used it on alot of cards recently.  Between the sentiments, images and the matching dies, one of the elements of this cute set make it onto my cards each time. I cant help it!!

On this card, I just stamped the images right onto the card front, colored with Copic markers and then tied some Pure Poppy stitched ribbon down the side.  That's it, there you have it. Easy peasy!!

Have a wonderful day!

Moxie Fab: Tuesday Trigger Challenge

On Tuesdays, Paper Crafts Moxie Fab World has an awesome inspiration challenge called Tuesday Trigger.  This week's Tuesday Trigger picture was pretty awesome, and I have to say, I was inspired by the colors and all of the delicate appliques on the cake.

My card uses Papertrey Ink Fine Linen cardstock as the base.  I used Harvest Gold felt (PTI) and the Make a Wish dies collection (PTI) to make the 3 tiered cake.  I decorated the cake with rhinestones, silk ribbon and tiny prima flowers.  The sentiment comes from Papertrey Ink's Year of Flowers- Roses set and is stamped in Fresh Snow ink.

Here is the inspiration photo:
Isn't that such a pretty cake??  LOVE it.

So, if you have some time, head over to the Moxie Fab World site and link up your projects.

Big Birthday Wishes

This is the card I made Eric (my wonderful hubby) for his birthday the other day! Masculine themed cards are not my forte (and he knows this) but I actually really like the way this one came out...AND, He even told me he loved the card and how "man-ish" it was.  Hooray!!  :-)

I used PTI Ocean Tides for the card base, which matches the new October Afternoon Campfire pattern paper really well.  The yellowish strip of paper is also from the Campfire collection.  I used the following PTI stamp sets and dies for the card: Little Bitty Bird and dies, Mat Stack 2 Collection and Mat Stack 2 die, Limitless layers dies, Fillable frames 11 stamp and matching die. The felt aslo comes from PTI and is the Harvest Gold color.  The jeweled stick pin is from Jillibean Soup.

You Make Me Smile

Here's another card using an awesome Verve stamp set called Blue Skies.  This stamp set ROCKS, let me tell ya!! It is full of awesome quotes and sentiments, which leaves you with TONS of possibilities for all-occasion cards.  I used a simple Kraft base and layered some cute music notes pattern paper from Echo Park on top.  I stamped the sentiments on square die cuts. I used wider aqua ribbon to tie the big bow on the front, then I passed a jeweled stick pin throgh it.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is soooo delightful, and since we've no place to go, Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow.  :-)  Ok, the holidays may have passed, but this song still goes through my head as I dream for another nice winter storm.  yes, even though we are still recovering from the one we just had! I just like watching the kids have so much fun in the snow.

Ok, about the card....I used the PTI stamp set called: Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers. I also used PTI's newest cardstock color: Blueberry Sky, along with Distressed Dots pattern paper. I distressed the edges of the paper a bit before adhering to the card front.  The ribbon is PTI Fresh Snow satin ribbon- I used Copics to trace the different colored lines ontot he ribbon to match my card- this neat trick I learned from Nichole of PTI, she is FULL of amazing project ideas.

You Fill My Days With Joy

Hello again! Here is a card I made using one of the cute new sets from PTI designer Dawn McVey.  It is called Signature Series: Flower.  (Dawn also designed a few other Signature Series sets for PTI, and they all have matching dies available- LOVE that!!) This set called my name with all of the beautiful sentiments included with it, especially this one, "You fill my days with joy."

When I started this card, I knew I wanted to make a punched out window where the Joy flower would show through, so I used the coordinating flower die to create that effect.  I used Chartreuse cardstock and Basic Grey Marjolaine pattern paper on the card front.  The ribbon is Enchanted Evening (PTI).

Here is a picture of the inside of the card:

Snowy Birthday Wishes

1-1-11.....Hello Everyone, I hope you are having a fabulous NEW YEAR! Here's a card using the super cute Warm Winter Wishes stamp set by Flourishes. I really enjoy using these stamps, first, the snowman is AAAAAAdorable, next, the sentiments are terrific for all winter long, and last, the snowflakes of varying shapes and sizes make awesome backgrounds!

I used a Kraft cardstock base, and stamped snowflakes in white and navy ink creating a background. Then I stamped the snowman onto a white Spellbinders oval die cut and colored it with Copic markers, then layered with a navy oval die cut. Last, I cut a thin strip of navy cardstock to stamp the birthday sentiment on, and then cut the corners on each side to resemble ribbon. I placed a blue candy dot on each end of the "ribbon."

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend.
