My Brother Jeremy 5.31.75 - 1.30.09
My previous post on prayer was so out of the ordinary for me. I don't know how many of you noticed the date, and that it was actually the day before I found out my brother Jeremy had taken his own life. Just when you think you've been very humbled, the Lord helps you to remember that you can always be humbled further.
I’ve been resisting writing this post for so long. It has been over two months since my brother died. You all know how much I love my brother Jeremy.
I know nothing I could say, no matter how many words, could get across my admiration, love and heartache that I feel for my sweet brother.
I would like to briefly share some of my most memorable moments, mostly for my sake.
Massage. Jeremy admired me for attending and graduating massage school in ’99. He always was the one to be rubbing people’s shoulders anyway. He was a “wanna be” massage therapist. All the time when I was in school, I would teach him a few things. He was always better than me and knew more than me (he thought). About one year after I graduated, he attended and graduated. Although he never “technically” practiced as a therapist, he was amazing at it.
That is just one of the things that he was “naturally” good at. Just to name a few of the other things that he was good at before he even learned:
Diving, Martial Arts, Playing instruments (guitar, bass and drums), Being a Dad, Being a Brother, Being a Twin, Being a Son, Hardwood Floors, Any kind of construction work, Hard work, Volleyball, Motorcycling, Mountain Biking, Road Biking, Rock Climbing, Hiking………….Golf!
Golf. Golf is the essence of my brother Jeremy. Those of you who attended the funeral heard the stories that my dad and brother, Jason, shared. He loved Tiger Woods. He truly sometimes thought he was Tiger. We called him the “White Tiger”. Jason’s story was as follows:
“You show up to golf in shorts, and maybe even a t-shirt. You’re waiting for your fourth person to arrive at the tee. Here he comes in the distance, are you mistaken? Could it be Tiger Woods? Red Nike shirt, black pants, TW hat, glove, designer golf shoes. Top of the line everything. As he comes closer, you see the face, this could be the “White Tiger”. He gives a smile and nod to your threesome. He tees up his ball, steps back to visualize his perfect shot. Calm and collected he lines up like a pro to take his first swing. He swings…. That’s when you figure out that it’s just Jeremy.”

Loving The Fog.
Is anyone else fully appreciating the beautiful fog and ice crystals every morning and evening? I couldn't help but take pictures and I want to take more every morning, but I think they might all just look the same. I love this first one...

Here comes the 5 year old Bride...
You read it right. Lily for her fifth birthday... demanded a wedding. Her initial idea was as many boys as girls so that they could all get married and go to a ball afterward. I just sensed a lawsuit or something, so I suggested all girls... a bride party. She said okay, so here are the pics with eleven little brides.
WE HAD IT ALL....
