Betting ban lifted for sheep race
Sheep race
Six Sark sheep will take part in a steeplechase race
Sark's government has lifted a ban on gambling for the island's sheep-racing event on Saturday.

Six of the island's sheep will be competing, with teddy bears or fluffy toy rabbits tied to their backs.

The sheep will be looked after by a Sark farmer and his sheep dog during the 'steeplechase' event, when the sheep jump bales of hay.

Hundreds of people are expected to go along for the fun event on the island's Millennium Field.

There are prizes on offer for the best ladies' hat and men's waistcoat.

All the money raised at the event will go to a fund to pay for prescribed medicine for Sark residents because they do have social security.
