Elvis and Oasis enjoy chart success
Elvis Presley has notched up a fourth week at the top of the UK singles chart with a remixed version of his track A Little Less Conversation.
The track, remixed by Dutch DJ Junkie XL, is Presley's 18th UK number one and the first since Way Down, which hit the top shortly after his death in 1977. Meanwhile, in the album charts rock group Oasis are celebrating after their new album Heathen Chemistry went straight in at number one.
The Elvis remix features in an ad for Nike sportswear, starring Brazilian striker Ronaldo, who scored both goals in his country's World Cup final win over Germany. Junkie XL - whose real name is Tom Holkenborg - had to change his moniker to JXL for this release because Presley's estate was uncomfortable with the drugs reference in his name. A Little Less Conversation first appeared in one of Elvis' movies, Live A Little, Love A Little, in the 1960s and was a B-side to Almost in Love in 1971 but never featured on greatest hits albums. Festival spotlight The success of Heathen Chemistry ended rapper Eminem's five-week reign at the top of the album chart. The album marks the band's first set of new studio material in two years - and seems to indicate a return to form for Oasis.
The band's brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher enjoyed huge success in the mid-1990s. But their two most recent albums, Be Here Now and Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, were poorly received. However, despite the immediate rise of Heathen Chemistry, the single from the album Stop Crying Your Heart Out fell to 13 from last week's four. Elsewhere in the singles chart, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers made it in at number two with By The Way followed by Jennifer Lopez at number three with I'm Gonna Be Alright. A comeback by The Prodigy called Baby's Got A Temper came in at number five. And in the album chart, Nellyville from Nelly came in at number two.
