Congratulations Megan and Steve!

So this past weekend my cousin Megan came home with her boyfriend Steve, to meet the family. For anyone who has met our family, you know that this was a very brave thing for the two of them to do.  Anyways, we loved seeing Megan and meeting Steve, and we had a great weekend. They left Tuesday morning and Tuesday evening the family receives a picture text from Megan, with an engagement ring!  I guess that the family didn't scare Steve away :).  So, I just wanted to say congratulations to them.  Megan and I have been close ever since I was born (she's a year older then me).  She was Maid of Honor in my wedding, and I'm so excited for her, being married is great!

I love you Megs! And we can't wait to get to know Steve better and welcome him into the family.

Random Tag

Kiara tagged me, so here are 6 random things about me :)

Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

1.  I can be really annoying to watch movies with.  For some reason I have a hard time paying attention to the first 5-10 minutes of a movie, so the rest of the movie I'm constantly asking who people are and what's going on.  I have to make a real conscious effort to pay attention at the beginning.

2.  I think I am really lucky to have found my husband.  I never pictured myself getting married as young as I did (21), but I'm glad I did.  He's my best friend and we have so much fun together.

3.  I HATE needles or anything having to do with a shot or having my blood drawn.  I can't look at the needle and I start crying before they even do anything.  I'm even considering natural childbirth because the idea of the epidural needle in my back is almost more scary to me then the idea of doing it without drugs.  (Don't hold me to this though, I'll just have to see how it goes :) )

4.  My brother is one of the most amazing people I know.  I look up to him and I miss him a ton. I think that who ever he marries will be one lucky girl!

5.  When I have something specific in mind that I want, whether it's an item of clothing, something for the house, or whatever,  I will find it. My mom and I have spent the day traveling to every mall in the state before because of this.  No joke, if I get my mind set on something, I will accomplish it!

6.  I have very simple aspirations for my life.  I want to be a good mom and wife, and I want Nick to find a job that he is happy in and can be home with us as much as possible.  As long as we are happy and I have my family with me, I don't need anything else.

I tag Amy, Ashley, Emily, Stephanie, Lindsey, and Laura

99 Days left! And nursery pictures

So I'm down to 99 days (yeah double digits!) left in the pregnancy! Or about 26 weeks.  From week 20 until now has gone by pretty quickly, and if there has been any point that I could say I've enjoyed being pregnant, it's been about the last six weeks.  I'm hoping that the rest of the time goes by just as quickly and as smoothly.   We started our child birth classes tonight.  They will be every Tuesday night from 6:30-9 until march 10th.  The class was really nice tonight, and already really helpful.  We also had a tour of the labor and delivery rooms and the recovery room.  The rooms are SO nice.  We will stay in the recovery room for 48 hours after delivery, and it has a queen size bed  and the baby stays in the room with us in a bassinet.   Our favorite part is that the hospital doesn't have a nursery, so the baby will stay with us the entire time.  All the tests and everything they need to do are done right in the room with us.

We have been hard at work on the nursery.  Nick painted, put together all the furniture, hung the curtains and valances and hung all my little "art" projects for the room.  We are very pleased with how it looks and hang out in there at least once a day.

Above the curtains we've hung wooden blocks that I painted that spell out the baby's name, you can't see them in this picture because we are keeping the name a secret until she is here :)

The only things missing now in the room are a family picture that will go on the blank wall above the changing table/dresser, the changing pad and a floor lamp (for over by the rocker). And I guess the baby :)
