Amy's First Easter!
Even though Amy is not very old yet the Easter Bunny still decided to visit her. She really didn't get much in her basket except a pink bunny, but next year I'm sure the Easter Bunny will bring her more stuff to enjoy. Kurt went to church on Sunday but Amy and I are still staying home for a few more weeks. I will have to say that it gets pretty lonely on Sunday when Kurt is gone. I really miss going to church and feeling of the Spirit that is there. I have been blessed to have the sacrament brought over to me every Sunday, but I am looking forward to attending the meetings again. Even though we didn't get out much that day, Amy still had an Easter dress to wear and looked very cute in it (thanks Aunt Missy). The day was pretty quiet for us. We went to Kurt's parents house for dinner and visited with them for a little while along with Kim and Kraig.
The Saturday before Easter we went to an Easter egg hunt that Grandma Oaks has every year. It was fun to watch all of the kids hunt for eggs that were filled with toys and candy. Next year Amy might be able to get in on the fun!

Amy had a very exciting weekend! Her Aunt Missy and Aunt Melanie flew from Colorado to come and visit us. Aunt Mandy and Uncle Anthony came to visit also but I didn't get any pictures of them with Amy. Next time they are over we will get a few pictures with them. It was great to have aunties that wanted to change diapers, burp, and play dress up with Amy so that I could get a few things done. It was almost like being in the hospital again, minus the pain! We can't wait to go to Colorado in April so that Amy can meet her cousins Preston, Parker, Olivia, and Carley.

Amy

After 33 hours of labor baby Amy is finally here! I started having contractions around 9:30 pm on the 24th of February. Kurt drove me to the hospital a little after 3 in the morning and I was so afraid that they would send me home. My contractions were pretty strong and close together and I was 3cm when they checked me so they let me stay!! I was able to get an epidural within the hour and felt so much better after that. My doctor came in around 10:00 am on the 25th and I was 5cm so she decided to break my water. After that things went really slow. My contractions slowed down and I wasn't progressing much at all. To make things even better, Amy was face up (the wrong way) and I had to lay on my side until it was time for me to start pushing (around 2:00 am on the 26th). The doctor was able to turn Amy once I started to push and I was so relieved that she was able to. I pushed for about 4 hours and just couldn't do any more. The doctor had to use forceps to get Amy out and everything happened so fast after that. Amy had pooped while she was still inside so once she was out they rushed her to another room to make sure her lungs and everything else was clear. Kurt didn't even get to cut the cord and I only got a small peek of Amy before they took her. Amy was born at 6:04 am on Tuesday the 26th and weighed 8 lbs 02 oz and was 21.5 inches long. Everything was fine with Amy and it was so special to hold her for the first time. I have been trying to catch up on sleep ever since. I was lucky enough to have my mom here when Amy was born and my dad and sister came the day we came home from the hospital. Kurt's family is here and they have also been a big help. Despite the lack of sleep everything is going great.
