Hi Everyone, we have had some beautiful entries so far! Thank you to all of our new Followers i do hope you will all join in at some stage as i am excited to see how you all interpret our challenge.
I am here to help clarify the DIGITAL part of the challenge for you.
If you have created anything by your own hand, a drawing, a photograph, a painting or a mixed media project which has then been digitally (computer) changed you can enter this under DIGITAL.
Took a picture with my phone of my original drawing and saved this on my handset.
Used an App called Pixlr-O-Matic on my phone to apply filters, colours and a frame, when i was happy with how it looked i sent this to my printer. I printed off a couple of copies so i could use one as a transfer onto a piece of card (the second is for back up in case it all goes wrong lol) this can then be used in a mixed media project.
Another way of getting your face or flower onto a computer is to scan it into the computer and then open up (for example) Serif Craft Artist Professional, i can then add this to a digital background, add embellishments etc. Your saved file can then be printed off and changed into a mixed media piece by adding paints, pencils, ribbons, more hand drawn projects (the list is endless) etc.
You can also draw your faces or flowers using a piece of software like Draw Plus which our DT member Deborah Wainwright uses. Brian Raymond uses Adobe Photoshop and Sarah Dunkley also uses Serif Craft Artist.
You can also enter anything that has been designed by you for cutting our with an electronic die cutting machine. For example a stencil you have designed or a flourish or swirl, bird or cupcake you have designed using the software programme that came with your die cutting machine. i use a Pazzles Inspiration electronic die cutting machine to cut out my own designs.
If you own an embroidery machine and have designed your own files, these can be used.
If you make your own rubber stamps, these can be used but they must be your own design not a die cut turned into a stamp.
If you have written any books or magazine articles these can be used.
I do hope i have managed to explain how easy the digital part of our challenge is, if you need any more clarification or you have any questions please leave them in the comments section and i will get back to you with an answer.
Looking forward to seeing your mixed media projects, you still have 17 days left to join in! Please pass the word along and Follow us so that you don’t miss any posts.
