TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS OCTOBER STUDIO CHALLENGE

Hey there, it's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge (a monthly opportunity for the DT to share what makes our stamping studios hum...each month we're asked a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorite products, tips/tricks, stamping advice and more).

The theme for October is:
Never Felt Better!!
Felt is all the rage in crafting.  It's so thick and soft and gives that special warm and cozy feeling to fall and winter projects.  TE has 21 yummy colors to choose from, but do you ever just stare at all that felt and think, "Hmmmm...what should I do with it?"
Designers...show us a fun  project featuring felt.

I was really excited when I heard the Studio Challenge was going to be using felt.  I don't use it very often, but I sure like the way it looks!  This was my first time working with TE felt and I'm very impressed with the quality!  I ran the Split Pea felt through my Big Shot with the holly die from Very Merry Outlines, and it cut perfectly!  I had my TE metal shim on hand in case it wasn't able to cut on it's own, but I didn't even have to use it!  I made a CAS card for today's challenge because I've been super busy preparing for our Coastal Retreat.  My craft room is a HUGE disaster and I was using limited supplies.  Normally I would glue the felt into place with The Best Glue Ever or Crafter's Pick The Ultimate glue.  Each are tacky and holds really well...but like I said, limited supplies...I actually used my ATG tape gun and it held!  Gotta love that!

CHALKBOARD CHRISTMAS

Hey there, hmmm...I'm not sure why my camera muted the color of the plaid paper.  It's more the color of the ribbon.  Anyway, here's another easy peasy Christmas card using the Chalkboard Technique.  So much fun!  The bow was made with a Zutter Bow-it-All...perfect bows every time!  Psst...I might have a Bow-it-All to give away later this month.  *wink*  Watch for info on my blog.

SNOW GIFT SET

Hey there, the Coastal Retreat is right around the corner!  This is a project that I'll be teaching on Friday (sign up at Memories of Time).  It's uses the "Gap" card technique.  It's so easy to make and a little different than a traditional card!

We'll make a set of four cards, the box to hold them in and even add some die cuts to the envelopes...no stamping...no coloring!  *grin*  Hope to see you there!
