Happy Birthday to Me!

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOMMY!!"
(No, Emily cannot really say that, but she does like to try to blow out candles...)

Today I turned 24. It's not really a momentous number of any kind, but it was a simple and sweet birthday with family:

Reasons this birthday was great!

Scott mowed the lawn before it snowed... (three hours after he mowed!!)

I got a yummy cinnamon roll for breakfast...
I finished a project I have been working on... (ho ho ho!)

I placed a Scentsy party order...

I got to go out to eat with Scott, Emily, my brother Bret and his wife Ash and son Jace...

I got a pretty purple scarf from my brother...

I got a "Kitchen Diva" piggy cookie jar from Scott...(because it reminded Scott of me..WHAT?!)

I got a pretty jewelry box from Scott that hangs on the wall and doubles as a picture frame...

I got an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen... mmmm....

I have the cutest little girl in the whole world who makes me laugh everyday...

(She's laughing really hard in this picture...it is SO funny to hear her laugh like that!)
(When you ask Emily for "kisses", she bends her head so you can kiss her forehead...precious.)

It was a really great day. I feel very blessed to have my Scott and my Emily. Thank you Bret, Ashlee, and Jace for coming to dinner with us. It's nice to be around family. Thank you to all who gave me birthday wishes too. It means so much.

Why I haven't blogged in almost a month...

At the end of October, I signed up to sell Scentsy--a wickless candle product. I had no idea how much I would fall in love with the product. So, for the last month, I have been familiarizing myself with the product and having parties.

This product is amazing! If you love candles, you will LOVE Scentsy. It is just like a candle except that the wax melts with a lightbulb in a warmer. That way there is no flame or smoke which makes it way safer than candles. The 80 different scents to choose from make it even more fun! Anyway, for what it's worth, you can visit My Scentsy Website . Click on that and check out my website, the catalog of products, and if you like what you see, send me an email or call me! I would love to do a home party or basket party with you.

It really sells itself, and the hostess benefits are amazing! (Last party I had, the lady got $110 of free products, and there were only six people at her party!) I PROMISE you will love it. We do!!

Happy Halloween!

Here is our little ladybug. Emily discovered the joy of Tootsie Roll Pops. She had two. I kept the paper on, until it became soggy enough, it eventually came off itself. Fiber, maybe? Or just preventing a HUGE sticky mess? Either way, she had some sugary goodness. :) Sorry the pics are all in the stroller. I took video of her running around...for posterity of course! :)

Are you sure this is okay, Mom?

Mmmm..yummy!!!

My halloween costume...CINDERELLA!! :)

Vampire Love

Scott sent me an email where he had taken a quiz to see "Which Twilight Character you are.." (gasp)...I was SHOCKED that he would even take such a quiz. (He got the link of his friend's blog...Thanks Breanna!) He hasn't read the books, and so when he got these results he said in his email,

"WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? DO YOU STILL LOVE ME?" < I'm a Carlisle! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Male Are You? Take the quiz and find out!
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!

So, being the Twilight fan that I am, I took the quiz too, and lo and behold....
I'm a Esme! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!

So, it's official, we're perfect for each other. :)

It is NOT good for Man to be alone.

This last Saturday, My wife and baby left to visit her sister in Kansas City, Missouri for six days. I already miss them both. I always have been grateful and appreciative of all she does around the house and especially with Emily. I know NOW how much she really does, not just watching the little one, but for me and our home. Reality came quickly when I got home from work on Saturday afternoon and was desiring some delicious dinner. But wait!!! Kristin is gone. No I am perfectly able to cook, so I begin the process... let's see what we have... then I looked in the fridge. Uh-oh. We didn't go grocery shopping before Kristin left and took our ONLY car to Vegas to catch her flight. This normally wouldn't be a problem-right. I can just go shopping, but, not this time. We only have one car and a scooter. We live in Cedar, a scooter really is all you need, except it is quite difficult to fit any amount groceries on the fender of my wonderful little Vino.

So, the minutes continue to tick away and I still don't have any real possibilities besides the non filling cheese-crip. Then the genius all inspired idea comes, "Delivery!!!" Trying to be thrifty and decide on the best value and solution to my no food problem. Domino's!--another inspired thought, at least that is what I thought at the time, 3 pizzas for $5.55. The only good from this I feel now, was that it lasted so long, this is Day 3...

"You Light Up My Life" LIVE!

I sang at an Orchestra of Southern Utah fundraising night last week and the theme was American Popular Music from 1970 to 1990. I chose the song "You Light Up My Life" since it's one of my favorites. Anywho, you can listen to it online! Go to http://www.orchestraofsouthernutah.org/podcasts.htm and find the podcast of "American Popular Music" and click on it. Unfortunately it is not split up into songs, but if you're patient enough for it to download, my song is from the time 22:35 to 26:32 . From this, I even got a "review" so to speak in the newspaper on Saturday in the editorial "vent" section called "Kind Thoughts." You can view that here. if you like. My friend Nancy Beckstrom accompanied me. This is a picture of both of us. (Super cheesey face grin...sorry!)

Cell Phone Pictures...

Here are some random pictures I pulled off of our cell phones:

I came upstairs one day to discover this:
Caption: "MOM! Can you believe this?! Dad is in my bed!"
Emily's candid look:
Thought bubble: "Oh dear, you caught me..."
*side note* That orange thing on her arm is a bandaid from her 1 yr. immunizations...
I took Emily to the park across the street. The tunnel was our favorite:
She's a blur in the picture because you can't get a 1 year old to hold still at the park for a picture. We had alot of fun though.
Which one is your favorite? :)

Last week's Adventures!

Adventures of the Mabb Family!!

Emily wearing her cute dress that Grammy sent from Japan (it's not Japanese..obviously.) She is holding her "bunny bear" that Uncle Brent and Aunt Andrea gave us before she was born. She HAS to hold it when she goes "night night." She hugs it all the time.. really cute.

This is our "Siamese Squash". It is two crookneck squashes that grew together. Kinda cool!

Here is Emily and Daddy at the ward party up the canyon. She loves her Daddy!

Emily's favorite adventure (until mom put locks on the cupboards a few days ago...ha!) was to empy all of the cupboards as seen above...and below.

We went on our adventure (date!) Our friend Charity came and watched Emily (well, Emily actually was asleep the whole time) but we went to Ninja Japanese steakhouse. We dressed up, so i took a picture!

Mommy and Emily swinging at Woods Ranch up Cedar Canyon!

Daddy showing Emily how to do it "by herself". He's such a good and fun Daddy. She is a very lucky little girl, and i am a very blessed wife. :)

Sorry, not too much to report, we are getting into the swing of things this semester. Scott started school again and I started teaching lessons again, so we are adjusting to the new routine. Emily is getting so big, we can hardly believe it. Enough about us, drop us a line and tell us what YOU are doing these days!

Wii Fun!

So for Scott's birthday we got a Wii! Along with that, we got the Wii Fit! Hilarity ensues:

Scott doing the "Tree" pose in the Yoga section of "Wii Fit".

(

Scott and I both doing the "Warrior" pose:

Emily's version of Yoga--sleep with one foot sticking straight up between your crib bars:

...Emily's "Flock of Seagulls" hairdo! She ripped out her pigtail elastics on the way home, and she's chewing on the Wii Nunchuck. Yummy!

Isn't life silly?

Emily Mae turns one!

Emily Mae Mabb turned
one year old!

Our Emily turned one year old on August 14th. I can't believe how fast the past year went. She has grown SO much. Here's a fun look at her last year:

This is Emily at 18 weeks still inside her waterbed:

Here she is as a brand new baby, minutes old:

3 months old:

Emily's first Halloween: She's the flower, Scott's the gardner, and I'm a lady bug..and we tried the cute pumpkin idea, but she didn't like it very much.

6 months old, picture taken with Mom for Dad's valentine's present:

9 months old:

And the long awaited 1st year birthday party!!!

The cake!

And here is the end result of the cake:

Our dear little Emily,
Thank you so much for all you have taught us about life and love in the last year. We love you more everyday and are looking forward to many more birthday memories!

Thank you for being our angel baby. We love you!

Love, Mommy and Daddy
