Vintage Happy Birthday

A new to me sketch challenge from Sketch Saturday. Mixing and matching from the vintage pattern paper stash and found the printed purple vellum which I thought would be perfect for these cards. A couple with Happy Birthday and a couple without the sentiment...each slightly different ~ just because.

Happy Happy Birthday

I am slightly loving/obsessed with the sketch challenges in the blog world. 1) It helps me with inspiration for getting my cards started 2) helps to put a teeny dent/using up my current vintage crafting stash and 3) Works towards the 2024-240 cards goal.. The Try a Sketch on Tuesday (new to me blog challenge) has a semi-monthly sketch challenge and the current challenge is great for all those left over strips of pattern paper after you cut down your 12x12 into 6 - 4X 5 1/2 pieces.. Once again, mixing and matching different paper lines..tried out a new embossing folder. A tip...wanted a scalloped edge and couldn't find for the life of me, the vintage paper edger of mine...so I used the edge of a large scalloped edge frame to cut the borders on a some of the strips on the first card...washi tape and the pattern paper strips were short enough. Voila 4 more cards to add to the stash and the 2024-240 goal..

Happy Sunday everyone. :)

Happy Birthday Tower of Flowers

Freshly Made Sketches' Karren's sketch...my interpretation of the sketch..the jar and the two large fresh fressia flowers are my three items. Again, pairing mixed vintage pattern paper lines...MME and Scenic Route with a gold mat. The small flowers are highland heather and gorgeous grape finished with mini gold metallic gems and the larger flowers are finished with mini pink polished gems....not sure whether you're able to see them. Embossed *HAPPY BIRTHDAY* with white embossing powder on black and punched out. Three more cards to add to the Card Challenge 2024-240.
Thanks for dropping by to have a peek.
Happy Friday and the weekend has begun!!! ;)

Happy Birthday Set...*WINNER*

Well this is a first for me as I normally complete my cards just under the wire and than some on Sunday afternoons for the weekly Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge...Still working on the vintage pattern paper stash... Pairing different paper lines, of which one is dated 2009 My Minds Eye...OMGee...tad embarassing.. Inked up several stamp sets for these cards to come together and used a textured rose gold metallic cardstock for the bottom mat/layer and the scalloped edge rectangle..I tried with two different banner sizes of HAPPY BIRTHDAY and I think I prefer the larger banner as per the sketch. 6 cards closer to my 2024-240 Goal.
Entering this card also into Double Trouble's Challenge Birthday Raffle category.
Thanks for dropping by to have a peek.

Another Performance...Snowmen & Mittens *WINNER*

So I'm really loving this snowman in the mitten stamped image and had to give it another shot with a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge. Once again, another great scrap buster for those fidley leftover paper strips. The colouring and the fussy cutting of the images are not for the faint hearted...LOL..but the Copics and blendabilities make the colouring less daunting for the most part. Dazzling diamonds on the snowman and a metallic gel pen for the wire spirals...or whatever you call them. Voila...5 more cards for the Christmas stash and working on the 2024-240 card goal.
Thanks for dropping by to have a peek.
Happy Sunday!
EDIT: OMGee...what a great surprise for a Wednesday afternoon, the AHSC design team chose my cards as one of their top three wins for their recent sketch challenge. Thank you to the DT for making my day! :)

Merry Snowmen and Puppies

A NEW to me sketch challenge blog and the DT knock it out of the park for leaving blog love from the Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge. Inking up the vintage stamp collection and colouring with Copics and Blendabilities...Mix and match more vintage pattern papers from the stash..added dazzling diamonds to the puppies' hats and the snowmen sitting in their hats. Found a package of these vintage holographic snowflake stickers to finish the cards and Voila 7 more cards for the Christmas Stash and 240 cards for 2024 Goal...almost caught up..
Entering this card into the latest Double Trouble Challenge using the stash..so much from the stash...the snowman in a hat stamp..the pattern papers are all from before 2017, if not older..and the snowflake stickers...some are from 2006 (huge gasp) and others are at least 10 years old..OMG..so definitely a stash buster challenge... Thanks for dropping by to have a peek.
Happy Wednesday evening.

Happy Birthday...*WINNER*

Another weekly sketch challenge ~ Freshly Made Sketches, Jen B's sketch this week. I opted for a couple of Birthday cards, this time around... And for added interest, I cut an inch off the card front and layered the matching dsp on the inside edge of the card, when closed it matches the sketch perfectly. Two of my fave vintage stamp sets: Jar of Love and Two Tone Floral..finished with pearls for the flower centers. Stamped the *HAPPY BIRTHDAY* on black cardstock - embossed with white. Voila!
Thanks for dropping by to have a peek.
Happy Monday everyone. EDIT: What a lovely surprise as Jen T chose my card as her princess winner. THANK YOU JEN T for TOTALLY making my day. Congrats to all the other princesses and the Queen for their wins. Looking forward to the next FMS challenge.

Merry Snowman & Mittens

Another goal this year is to use up the vintage collection and put a major dent in my cardmaking supplies...hence the 240 card goal...12 months...20 cards a month..which would mean at least 40 sheets of pattern paper...which would be a mere drop in the bucket in the overall scheme of things...but it's a start...one sheet of pattern paper at a time! ;)
One of my go to sketch challenge blogs...Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge...this week's sketch looked alittle daunting at first but I think I managed to sort it out and another great scrap buster for those small strips of pattern paper. Stamped and coloured the images with Copics and blendabilities...gold metallic pen and some dazzling diamonds..the most challenging fussy cutting project yet...Voila! 4 more Christmas cards added to the stash.
Thanks for dropping by to have a peek.
Happy Sunday and Mother's Day to all the Mommas out there. :)

merry Christmas wishes...*WINNER*

Next for inspiration: ABC's Christmas Challenge - H is for Hats and I is for Inking..Doubled with Just Add Ink's Challenge - Add Shimmer or Shine and tripled for a Hat Trick with Freshly Made Sketches' recent sketch challenge from Kim. It's been a LONG time since I've completed a hat trick.. Inked up this vintage and new to me stamp of the Snowballs with their hats..coloured with Copics and Blendabilities ...and fussy cutted..my least fave thing to do..LOL. For SHIMMER - dusted dazzling diamonds here and there and layered on top with the red shimmer letters for *merry*. Finally getting a chance to use this *merry* die as it's oversized..but I love words with the shadow layers as the words just seem to pop. The sledding penguins were coloured with Copics and fussy cut as well..different pattern papers..Voila..4 more Christmas cards added to the 2024 Christmas card stash and my 240 goal.
Thanks for swing by to have a peek.
Happy Monday. :)

merry WISHES...

Not sure...I had an idea..it took me forever for these cards to come together for me...maybe it's the aftermath of tax season frying my brain and short circuiting the creativity vibes.. Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is my weekly go to..1) sketches really are a great kick starter and the 2) Design Team take the time to peek and leave blog love. My simple snowflake theme - Merry Wishes cards..Vintage pattern papers from the stash..I was looking for an outline layer for the *merry* and opted for the shadow effect with the off white layer underneath. Voila! 4 more for the Christmas card stash. Which one is your fave?
Thanks for dropping by to have a peek.
The weekends just seem to fly by so fast. Happy SUNDAY everyone.
