The Play Date Cafe and Color Splash Time

I am making quite some new cards lately, due to intensive preparation to sales-exhibition craft fairs in may. This time I made a card for this weeks The Play Date Cafe challenge.

Malo sem sem poigrala z bleščicami. Že celo večnost jih imam na polički a so me zamikale šele potem, ko sem videla čudovite pobleščičene izdelke nadarjene Erum - E.T. Ustavite se še na njenem blogu Vibgyor krafts in ji pustite kakšno lepo sporočilce. Gotovo ga bo vesela.

I played a little with my glitter. I have loads of it in my crafting supplies but haven't felt the desire to use them until I saw a gorgeous use of it by Erum - E.T. She does an amazing job. Stop by her blog Vibgyor krafts and leave her some love.

Have an amazing day! I'll be back with some more creations later on.

Hugs, Aleksandra

CASE Study #139 and "Sparkly Butterflies"

Another post for today... this time for the CASE Study Challenge #139. Oh, It's been a looong loong (to long) time since I last participated in CASE Study challenge in fact there wasn't much time lately to participate in any of the challenges. But this time I got the idea right away and I managed to make a card before going to bed yesterday.

Upam da ste lepo preživeli prvomajske praznike in ste pripravljeni na nove izzive. Čudovit teden želim vsem!

Hope you spend your holidays nicely and you are all ready and set up for the new life's challenges. :) I wish to all of you a great week ahead!

Hugs, Aleksandra

Our hostess this month is Kathy and the challenge this time is "A Picture says A thousand words". I was thinking about my most cherished moments in life that I could and would like to put into a card and a wedding kept crossing my mind. And the gorgeous stamp set "Hearts&Flowers" was just perfect for it. I used an image of a heart with roses. It reminds me of my wedding bouquet that was mainly made out of peach an champagne roses. I've also used some butterflies from stamp set "Gerber Daises" and white embossed it on a vellum. I included some Swarrowski rhinestones that I've also used on our wedding stationery. And here is my card:

And here is a picture of my bouquet and another one from us. This was only three years ago, we allready had our Kaja and Sara was on her way. I was 6 months pregnant and a month later Sara was born almost two monts too early.

Thanks for your visit! I hope you enjoyed it here in Slovenia, your next stop on the Flourishes tour around the Globe is Iwona and her dreamy Australia...

Enjoy the rest of the tour! Hugs, Aleksandra

Runway Inspired Challenge #33 and "Zip" Gift Collection

Kako mi je uspelo pa boste ocenile same. :)

I've been a good Girl this weekend :D and have managed to, before I definitively completly broked my Grand Calibur (no comment), finish of another gift collection. This time for the challenge I've been following for some time now but never had a time and/or courage to join in the fun - "Runway Inspired Challenge #33". I usually stayed far away from large black areas on my creations, now I feel more and more attracted to them. It sure feels nice to make a step over your comfort zone. The judging of how good I was at it I will leave to your, hopefully indulgent, critics. :)

Izdelala sem kolekcijo voščilnice in nakita v darilni škatlici. Bela podlaga s črno tipografijo je samolepilno blago. Za nakit sem uporabila lesene osnove. Upam, da vam bo všeč. Hvala vsem, ki me ob vsaki objavi razveselite z vašimi lepimi komentarji. Definitivno mi polepšajo marsikatero uro in marsikateri dan je zaradi njih lažji in polnejši zagona. HVALA!

I made a collection of a card and jewellry set in a gift box. The white base with a black typography is a self adhesive peace of fabric. I love it! I used wooden basis for the jewellry pieces. Hope you'll like it. And I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who are leaving such a nice and warm comments on my each blog post. They sure do make my day and brighten a lot of hours, giving me easier startup and more elan to finish off my projects! Thank You from my heart!

Nature's way of saying "Happy Birthday"

Uf... končno je prišla še ena mojih objav. Upam da ste vikend lepo preživeli. Mi smo uživali, le sončka pogrešamo. Kolikor nam je vreme dopuščalo smo se malo potepali naokoli, veliko igrali, malo ustvarjali... V enih od večernih uric, ko so malčki pridno sanjali v svojih sobicah, je nastal nov darilni kompletek voščilnice in nakita. Inspiracijo sem na šla na tokratnem "The Play Date Cafe PDCC176", kjer je bilo treba uporabiti nevtralne barve in na tokratnem "Mojo Monday 287" s skico. Nastalo pa je tale kompletek:

And it finally came the day when I can share one new post with you. I hope your weekend was great. We had fun but we miss the sun!As much as weather allowed us we were curising around, played a lot and were creating a bit... in one of the night hours, when kids were in their beds dreaming sweet dreams, I made a new gift set of a card and jewellry. I found the inspiration in this week's "The Play Date Cafe PDCC176" that served us a color story and "Mojo Monday 287" with a sketch. And this is what I came up with:

Želim vam en čudovit preostanek nedelje in se vidimo kmalu. Pozdravček,

I wish to all of you a great rest of sunday and see ya soon. Hugs,

Aleksandra

Flourishes Beautiful World of Childhood

And here it is... another Flourishes Beautiful World Tour. Once again, it’s time to get those passports ready, grab a cup of coffee and prepare to travel the world! I invite you to travel with us, do a little globetrotting and leave us a comment and you could WIN A FREE FLOURISHES STAMP SET!!! The catch is, you don't know which country is going to be this month's Vacation Spot (chosen blog), so leave a comment on each of the team's blogs by April 30th for your chance to win!!!

If you came from Sasha's blog then you have arrived at the right destination. If not, you can start your journey back in Florida at the Flourishes blog so you don't miss any of the inspiration along the way!

Our hostess this month is Anne-Elise and she challenged us to create something that reminds us on our Childhood. Sigh,... this one was tough. I was thinking and thinking what to make and the first thing that came to my mind was of course my mother. And since we celebrated mother's day this month here in Slovenia I decided to make a present for her. My mother loves flowers and gardening. So I made her a card with some seeds for the upcoming hours in the garden. I included a child's song which she sang a lot to me when I was little. My mother loved to sing. It goes something like: "I am going to the green grass to pick some flowers for my mommy, to pick some flowers for my mommy, beautiful, white daises... Ok it doesen't sound that good when translated but it is a sweet poem here in Slovenia. :) And here is my card:

I made a card with a pocket and packed some seeds on a special "mini card" to go in the pocket. I used a gorgeous "Gerber Daises Stamp set". I colored the image with aquarel color pencils and an aqua brush. And I printed the part of the song with my printer. I put some lovely thoughts inside the card... My mother absolutely loved it! Hope you like it too! :) Thanks for your visit! I hope you enjoyed it here in Slovenia, your next stop on the Flourishes tour around the Globe is Meredith and her beautiful Canada...

Enjoy the rest of the tour! Hugs, Aleksandra

Baroque Butterflies

Inspiracijo sem našla v tokratnem "The Play Date Cafe - PDCC173". In nastalo je tole:

It's hard for me to find some time latelly to publish on my blog. But from time to time I still manage to join both orders and creating for fun in the same tasks. One of them was the gift set I created today. I found the inspiration over at this week's "The Play Date Cafe - PDCC173". And this is the gift set that I've made:

Metuljčki so "Inchiji" od Inkadinkadoja, verz pa je iz čudovitega seta "Flourishes - Hearts&Flowers". Metuljčki so pobarvani z akvarelnimi barvicami in vodnim čopičem. Za nakit sem uporabila skrčljivo folijo. Upam, da vam je kompletek všeč. Vesela bom vaših komentarjev! :)

Butterflies are Inchies from Inkadinkado, the sentiment is from a gorgeous stamp set "Flourishes - Hearts&Flowers". The butterflies are colored with aquarel pencils and aquabrush. I used shrink plastic for the jewellry. Hope you like it. I will be happy to read your comments! :)

March Flourishes Beautiful World Tour

February has rushed by and here we are again, in the month of March with yet another worldwide bunch of inspiration through the March Flourishes Beautiful World Tour. This is also one special month, since another talented lady is joining the Flourishes Beautiful World Tour Team. Don't forget to say a special wellcome to Bridget Finlay who will take you to beautiful Northern Ireland each month from now on. And don’t forget! Besides getting to see a lot of inspiration visiting destinations around the globe, You can win a stamp set of your choice simply by commenting on the Beautiful World Tour this month! You won’t know which destination is the chosen blog, so comment by March 31st on each one to have a greater chance to win!!!

If you came from Sasha's blog then you have arrived at the right destination. If not, you can start your journey back in Florida at the Flourishes blog so you don't miss any of the inspiration along the way!

Our hostess this month is Sasha and she challenged us to create a bookmark. And this is what I came up with:

I was deciding between creating a paper bookmark and creating a metal bookmark. It was sort of a hard decision, since I am a papercrafter by heart :) but still I wanted to make something different and show you maybe another way to use gorgeous Flourishes stamp sets. So I decided for metal bookmark.

The pendants are made from a shrink plastic. I used gorgeous daisy heart from "Hearts & Flowers" set and several single daises cut out of the same image. I colored the centers with "Deep Cadmium" aquarell pencils and aquabrush and shaded with "Naples Yellow" and "Deep Chrome". The petals are colored also with aquarell pencils and aquabrush using two shades of light blue - "Sky Blue" and "Smalt Blue". But you have to be really careful when applying colors to shrink plastic. Less is more, since colors tend to get very intensive when shrunk.

Of course I couldn't resist making a matching card and a matching gift box for the bookmark. And since my dear sister is celebrating her birthday this month I thought the gift set and a good book would be a great present for her.

Thanks for your visit! I hope you enjoyed it here in Slovenia, your next stop on the Flourishes tour around the Globe is Meredith and her beautiful Canada...

Enjoy the rest of the tour! Hugs, Aleksandra

May all your wishes come true

One very short post for today. I am a little bit in a hurry in the last days (or should I say weeks) but I somehow managed to squize in some time for the card I made after this week's color inspiration over at "The Play Date Cafe PDCC170".

Zdaj pa šibam k počitku. Zadnje čase me razne pljučnice in prehladi kar ne pustijo na miru in ko sem že mislila, da sem jih premagala, so se me danes ponovno lotili.

Going to get some rest now. Lately I've been catching quite some colds and even pneumonia. They just won't leave me alone and when I finaly thought that I got rid of them, here they are, back again today. I could use some rest and it has been a long and busy day for me today. I wish you all a peaceful night and a gorgeous day tommorrow.

February Flourishes Beautiful World Tour

Hello everyone. And it finally came the day when I get to share the exciting news that is giving me some goose bumps for the last few weeks. :) I've been invited to join the Flourishes Beautiful World Tour Design Team. Only my hubby had the privilege of knowing that the Flourishes DT was actually my dream DT so it is a great joy and an absolute honour to be able to create among all the incredibly talented ladies from the DT and learn from them. So from now on, with the start of each new month, you will be able to follow the Flourishes Beautiful World Tour also through my creative corner here in the blogoland. And without further delay, let me take you around the globe with the February Flourishes Beautiful World Tour.

I invite you to travel with us, do a little globetrotting and leave us a comment and you could WIN A FREE FLOURISHES STAMP SET!!! The catch is, you don't know which country is going to be this month's Vacation Spot (chosen blog), so leave a comment on each of the team's blogs by February 28th for your chance to win!!!

If you came from Kathy's blog then you have arrived at the right destination. If not, you can start your journey back in Florida at the Flourishes blog so you don't miss any of the inspiration along the way!

Our hostes this month is Iwona and she challenged us to create a card based on her beautiful sketch:

I used the image of gorgeous crysantemum flowers from "A YEAR IN FLOWER 3 STAMP SET". I colored them in Deep Cadmium Yellow and added some interest with Middle Chrome Orange. The leaves are colored with Grass Green and shaded with Olive Green. I am always using watercolor pencils and a waterbrush to color my images. I used quite some patterned papers for this one. I distressed edges with "Frayed Burlap" and pierced them. The main circle and the main image are attached to the card with 3D foam tape to give some dimension to the card. The sentiments are from "GERBER DAISES STAMP SET". I used colors from this week's challenge over at the "Play Date Cafe PDCC167".

Lately I enjoy making unique jewelry to go with a card. I think it makes a lovely birthday gift. So I couldn't resist making a collection of jewelry and a gift box with this beautiful image also. I used a Decopatch Glossy Glue to dress the gift Box. The Jewelry is made using a shrink plastic.

Thanks for your visit! I hope you enjoyed it here in Slovenia, your next stop on the Flourishes tour around the Globe is Meredith and her beautiful Canada...

Enjoy the rest of the tour! Hugs, Aleksandra
