Sweet Sunday Peace

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC223.

I made a Christmas card with today's sketch, bringing my total to 6 cards for Project Christmas 2014. Yikes!! That's only one a month, not one a week like I'd planned. But, on the bright side, at least I have 6 made already, right?

I used the gorgeous Poinsettia Die-namics from My Favorite Things, and I know I've used it often in the past but I really love the detail. The smaller flower is the one I used here and it's the perfect size for this week's sketch.

I added a piece of lace for a vintage feel and stamped the sentiment using Steel Grey instead of stark black.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's Blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Sweet Sunday Dad

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC222.
I used this week's sketch to make my dad's Father's Day card. I think that with each masculine card I make, the task gets a little easier. Hooray for that!

The strip of patterned paper is from the My Mind's Eye School Days collection and I used stamps from My Favorite Things, although it looks like the Masculine Graphic Tee stamp set is no longer available (I used it for the sentiment in the circle).
I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Sweet Sunday Plane Awesome

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC221.
I had fun making this masculine birthday card for one of my flying friends. I flipped the sketch to work with how I envisioned the card. I love it when a plan in my head comes together on paper. One little boo-boo I did notice though, after my card was completely assembled (of course!), is the vertical blue strip should be going overtop of the orange layer. Oops!

But then I wouldn't have been able to add as much dimension. Check it out!
The image is from the Plane Awesome stamp set from Taylored Expressions and I used the coordinating die to cut out the plane. There is a 'happy birthday' sentiment in the set but it's curved and I wanted a straight sentiment, so I used one from Pure Innocence All Occasion Sentiments by MFT.
I decorated the inside and stamped a sentiment from Plane Awesome along with the other airplane image.
I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.
