ANNOTATION:
There is no meaning...

I don’t know why I’m here. I don’t know why people are here. Nobody can know. What are we all doing? Why do you we do things. Why do we follow clocks, go to school, go to work, attend social and political events. Why is there such a thing as politics? We made all this stuff up, but for what? I’m always saying that religion is an easy answer for most people, but couldn’t it be argued that so is “living.” We go through each day, trying to be our best, but for what? What is the final goal? And if it’s to be happy, what is happiness and why is it necessary? Happiness is arguably its own relgion. What makes it worthy of being a goal for something we don’t even know? There really is no freedom. There are books on how to be stress free. There are tips and tricks on how to live a happy and healthy life, but what is all of it for? We are just somehow thrown on this earth and expected to fit in some sort of norm. Whether you fight the norm or not, you are still fitting in…you are still accepting the idea of the norm and choosing to fight against it. Again I ask, what for? There are so many daily norms, such as brushing teeth, looking at the clock, turning on or off lights, lying on a bed, having and using writing and eating utensils, there are an infinite number of these little things that even if you claim to be going against the norm, there’s no way you ever are or ever will. Are we all programmed? Everything we do is because of social and cultural construction. War and peace…all programmed. What is it all for? How can we justify daily events, yearly events, centuries of events, when no one is sure why people are here. We are all just complex organisms, but why do we complex ourselves? The truth is, our lives are completely meaningless. There is no reason to be here. There is no reason for anything. When we truly believe this, then what? Can we just stop going to work, stop paying the bills? No, because we have constructed such a system that doesn’t allow that. There is no way we can possibly live in this society without actually living the way society tells us. In that sense, one is never free. Ironically, there are countless items of “Rules to live by,” and “Rules for a happy/stress free life.” Again this plays into the fact that we are all socially constructed. Even fighting against the system and working at tearing down the social constructions and norms is imbedded in us from a social standpoint. Nothing is biological, everything is cultural. All nurture, and no nature. So how are we ever free?
