Just For Fun

I had some good news that I'm now designer team member for the http://qkrstampede.blogspot.co.uk/  and only just started so here is my first card which I enjoyed making.

This one I choose digital stamp from Qkrstampede which I colour it in with promarker's.  I used embossing folder of dots for my background and colour it in with distress inks in blue and then I use mirror card and stamp picture out using spellbinder called label four on to blue ribbon across the card and I use tim holt sizzix of rosette and colour in with distress ink blue to match the card then I found stamp of bird look perfect to go with the bird house and put it on top of rosette and finally I use xcut shape tags saying for you with gem on it.

Come on in the Water's Fine ...

Good morning.  My name is Ruza and I am super excited to share my first Design Team project using this adorable QKR Stampede stamp.

This FUN stamp is called Floating Gator that I paired up with the Come on in sentiment.  Both images are available in rubber and digital format.  I used the digital images for my card.

Copic Markers
G82, G03 & G94 for the Gator, B02 for the Gator Eyes
N0, N2, N3 & N5 for the Inner Tube
R29, R39 & B95 for the Patches

I created a mask of the Floating Gator and applied various Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create the water.  I used a Spica Clear Pen on the Gator in the shaded areas to add a bit of additional dimension.  However, I don't think you can see it in this picture.  I looks pretty awesome in person. ;o)

I brought the sentiment into Microsoft Word, used the picture tools to add a small frame around the sentiment to get the 3D look, and then used 3D foam tape to attach the sentiment.

I will be showcasing QKR Stampede stamps on my blog, Ruza's Craft Corner, every Tuesday.  I hope you will stop by to check them out.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Celebrating 4th of July using Eureka Stamps!

Greetings Everyone!
My name is Michelle and I'm very excited to be apart of the Eureka and QKR Stampede DT Team!
For my 1st DT project I wanted to create an altered 4th of July project!
To celebrate the 4th of July I needed a fun and quick home decor project!
Eureka stamps has some really fun and amazing Patriotic stamps!
The large Firecracker stamp is item # 14801 and the Celebrate with a Bang is item #15002!
For the base of the firecracker I colored the stripes with using Copics except for the white I used water color pencil from Cra-Z-Art. For the sparks I used 3 colors from Faber-Castell since fire isn't one just one color! To highlight some of the colors of the sparks I randomly used some glossy accents.
The title I colored in the word Bang with Faber-Castell big pen marker.
If you are  looking for some fun celebration stamps take a look at the Patriotic Eureka stamps!
You could use some of these stamp for Celebrations and even for the Olympics!
Here is the link to the Eureka and QKR Stampede Stamps Store!

Thank you for visiting today!
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Wow, July 4th already?

I'm Sarosa (aka Sarah Kornhaus), and am happy to present a couple of images from Biblical Impressions today.

Is America a Christian Nation? Was it ever? I don't believe the majority of the founding fathers saw it that way. What they did see was the need for a nation in which one could worship as one wished, and Christian principles were used in much of the decision making. Or perhaps a better way to phrase it is that the Christian principles by which most of the founding fathers lived by strongly influenced their thinking. To be sure, many were deists, but the Patrick Henry quote indicates that many were dedicated Christian believers.

After stamping the flag background, I filled in the lines with H20 watercolors. I actually did this part a couple of years ago, but didn't really like the effect. But when I looked at it this week, I decided that it would work well as a background for the text. I stamped on vellum with blue Stazon, and after gluing and burnishing, placed it under weights for about 48 hours to make sure I would not see the vellum curl up on itself down the road.

A Frog's Best Friend...

Hello,
It is Katie here today to share with you my first card on the Design Team for QKR Stampede.

Sometime's it's really hard to find cute images aimed at young boys, but this one from QKR Stampede does exactly that!

Recipe & Method:
1.  Cut and score a white card to A5 size.
2.  Mat and layer Brown card stock, then add the Red spotty paper.
3. Colour the digi image and cut using a circle die.  Adhere to Brown Scalloped Circle.
4. Cut a square out of brown card stock slightly larger than the Scalloped Circle and layer chequered patterned paper on top.
5. Cut out a number 5.  I used my Cricut to cut it at 3" using the American Alphabet Cartridge.
6. Stick the circle on top of the square and attach to card.  Stick the number 5 next to the square and embellish with Frog.

I used pro markers to colour the image: Royal Blue, China Blue, Berry Red, Poppy, Ivory, Dusky Pink, Caramel, Sandstone, Pumpkin, Forest Green, Burnt Sienna.

The Digital Image can be found here

I have to admit I really enjoy making cards for children, the bright colours and fun images always make me smile!

Baby Shower

I have a bunch of babycards from when I used to sell cards, but all I have left are boy blue or girl pink cards. I forgot about this, until I went to grab a card from my stash for a baby shower last week. The couple has decided not to discover the baby's gender in advance. So, off to work I went!

Details: I stamped the small carriage image from Biblical Impressions four times (there is a larger size as well). I cut out the wheels from one set, colored the rims with black pencil, then used my versamark pen for the wheel hubs, and embossed in silver. I cut out the carriage body, sans wheels and the portion of the ribbon that is off the carriage, and colored teh blanket and lace. Then I cut the carriage out again, this time also eliminating the lace and the blanket. This step could be skipped, but I wanted the extra layer. I used a slightly textured cardstock for the ribbon to give it a more fabric-like look. I assembled the pieces, and attached to the circle. The Psalm127:3 scripture was simply stamped with black.

In all honesty, this was a very time consuming card ... not because the card itself was that difficult, but I just kept smearing black ink or pencil on the white suraces. Additionally, the spellbinder die was a nightmare to work with. Note to self: anytime purchasing a new set, I need to immediatley test all dies while I still have the return receipt! I used another die in the set a couple of months ago with no problem, but this one ... wow!  I decided to take pictures of what I did.

As you see, three corners were torn off in the effort to extract the piece.

After that one, I thought I would try again, this time with some very strong cardstock I have. The results were just slightly better.  I cut it down to this, I thought I'd show it as it looked before weaving the ribbon through:

I went back to the first one, to show you two other possibilities I could have done.  I decided it looked a bit weird, so I trimmed it down more, but for a different style card, it might have worked (notice I trimmed the little side nobs on one end):
