Okay so maybe I was feeling a little sorry for myself in my last post. I don't know why I'm whining about people posting on my blog when I haven't been blog stalking and leaving comments much myself. So let's just forget how much I suck for a bit and do a little catch up. I can't believe I'm going to this, but here we go...
So what have the Richardson's been doing since July 19th? Well I'll tell you! Four days after we got home from the cabin trip we left for Bear Lake with the van Keizerswaard family where we:
Played games...
Went swimming at the pool...
Played on the boat...
Went miniature golfing...
And played at the beach!
We came home a few days early due to a power outage at the condo and the main office was uncertain as to when we would get it back. Since I was going to be the only one left up there, I didn't want to stay with the girls and have no power at night, so we decided to drive home with my mom!
A couple days later we were lucky enough to have a visit from the Felt family! We spent a night hanging out with them in which these two had a blast catching up!
At the end of the month we made a much awaited (by my dad) trip to Opa's "farm"! Where we:
Went on canoe rides around the pond...
Nana brought boats to float down the river, so we raced them...
We went on a horse ride...
...and then the real fun began!
My dad was leading with my friend Amber's son, Treycen, riding with him. Behind him was Alexis on her own horse, followed by Amber with her daughter and then me on my own horse. We headed off for a little ride around the property. As we started into some long grass a pheasant flew up spooking my dad's and Alexis' horses. Alexis horse side stepped and she flew off the side. Her horse continued to buck and rear up with Alexis at his feet resulting in...
... a trip to the Emergency Room, and a broken arm!
At first we thought her horse had stepped on her arm because that's what she had said, but the more we talked it out, we figured she actually broke it when she fell off. We do think he kicked her leg though at some point because she did have a large bruise on her calf. I knew the first broken bone was coming but I thought it would be Holland, our klutz, who would get it! I should have known that my sweet active Alexis would be the one to "fall"!
We left the emergency room with a splint on her arm and a smile on her face!
A few days later we had it casted, of course in PINK!
After the "accident" at Opa's farm we headed up to Amber's house in Rigby where we spent the next five days! We had lots of fun playing with our friends and hanging out. Our favorite place to be during the day was at Rigby beach...
Thank you Amber and family for such a fun time!
Rounding out our summer fun, we went to Richardson family reunion!
Oh, and do I have a story for you! After the reunion I edited and posted the pictures that we had taken, on Facebook. On my Facebook page I had it set up so that friends of friends could see and comment on my photos. On a picture of one of Brannon's cousins, she had posted that she and her hubby looked fat. When I saw that I immediately posted "OH.SHUT.UP", basically saying that she isn't (because she's not) so she shouldn't say it! Well apparently at about the same time that I had commented one of her friends also commented and her comment made it before mine did, so she thought my comment was directed to her instead. Well that was enough reason for her to completely unload on me. She left a rather nasty comment to me that I won't bother repeating here, as well as sending me personal emails through Facebook messaging, with nasty things to say as well. Then she wrote to Brannon as well and wrote some interesting things for him. I finally figured out how block her from contacting me, but not before I reported her to the Facebook team about what she was doing. Anyway, it was a rough day to say the least and now friends of friends cannot see or comment on my photos.
So that's been our summer for the last two months! We made it. Tomorrow Alexis starts back to school and Holland starts in a couple weeks! There are going to be mornings that it will just be me and Sage at home. How crazy is that going to be? I've loved having the kids home and have enjoyed the family togetherness, but I am so ready for school to start!
