something to blog about....
I don't really have anything fun to blog about so you get to remember that I'm pregnant! I'm uncomfortable, I can't sleep, and sometimes I think she's going to push her way out through my skin! But oh how I love it at the same time. Is it possible to be completely uncomfortable and happy at the same time? When I'm not pregnant I want to be, and when I am I just want that baby out of me! I guess it all comes down to wanting what you don't have! I'm famous for this! Anyway, just a reminder that I have a living being inside of me and there are times when I want her out! Mostly because I want to meet her, and hold that sweet little thing in my arms. There's my thought today.

YOU AIN'T MUCH, IF YOU AIN'T DUTCH!
Yesterday we had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Roos family reunion! This is my mother's side of the family. This year we were not only getting together just to get together but to also celebrate the 60th anniversary of my grandparents immigrating to America! Much of the reunion games were based on this event.
We had a relay race where you had to dress up like a dutch woman, wooden shoes and all, run to an American flag and wave it then remove the clothing and bring the suitcase back to your teammates. This was very entertaining to watch. Holland watched with anticipation of getting those clothes to herself so she could dress up! She wore most of the outfit the rest of the evening.
Uncle Jess and Aunt Toni made a replica of the SS Nieuw Amsterdam, the ship that Grandma & Grandpa sailed on, with portholes to stick our heads through for pictures. Now we've all immigrated. To where, some of us don't know!
We took a quiz, answering questions about our grandparents. I knew all the answers of course! It was a great way to get to know some things that we may not have known before.
Finally to top of the evening, we did the dutch wedding march! I'm sure we all looked a little silly to the other patrons at the park but oh well, WE ARE SILLY!
Good food, good fun, good company! It was great to see all that were able to make it! And remember....

A mouse in the house
Yes, it's what you think! Eeeewwwwww! I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! We live in an OLD home... like 1890's old so I can only guess which way they are deciding to come inside to visit us. It's actually been awhile since we've seen one inside. They're all over outside and as much as I hate that too it's better then having them inside with me!
We've been spraying for bugs and spiders over the last year and that has also eliminated the mouse problem but the last time I sprayed I actually had the playhouse done so the girls would play in it. I didn't get the house done that time and boy you can tell. The spiders are making their way in as well, along with our new friend, mouse.
I finally went out and bought traps today. I know where he hides because we saw him come out twice this morning during breakfast. I'm hoping that if I put a trap right under the whole that he makes his escape then he'll just get stuck there and Brannon can dispose of him. I bought the sticky traps so I'm afraid when he does get stuck we're going to hear the squealing! But I really didn't want to go in and find one squished to death so I guess I'll deal with the squealing when it comes. I just hope that he gets caught before Brannon comes home for lunch so the whole ordeal can be over before he heads back to work.
Is it weird that I'm completely scared of something that I can step on? They just move so damn fast! Eeeeewwwww! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! I'm calling the bug guy!

Finally....
Ok, I'm not completely done with all the decor but it's coming along quite nicely and I got a wonderful gift on Sunday to make it look more complete. I'm sure you're thinking, "what is she talking about?"
The "baby room"/"playroom"! Oh but don't be mad at me... I was so excited to get started painting I totally forgot to take a before picture. So I have rummaged through our pictures of the last three years and this is the best I could find. Just think boring! Oh and think of me not in it!

After:
Isn't it cute? I'm totally biased though! I'm loving how it's coming together! Oh and that gift I'm talking about.... Tavan is the best sister-in-law! She gave me the crib bumper, quilt and a new sheet! I luv her! If you can't tell what is on the wall... it's a family tree! Let me explain... I have pictures of me and Brannon and then each of our parents and then each of their parents! So the tree goes to the girls Great-Grandparents! I'm short a couple pictures though so I'll post another picture when it's actually complete! Anyway the room is much bigger but this is the best wall! Thanks to Amber for helping me paint and Tavan for completing the look I wanted!

Summer Fun!
Summer is almost over, and while I'm greatful to see the hot days go away my girls are enjoying that they are still around. Saturday they wanted to go swimming so badly but had to accept playing in the sprinkler! Holland basically stays away from the water and watches Alexis run wildly through it! They had an enjoyable time hanging out together. They are such cute sisters!
On Sunday we had Tavan & Jarom & Buzz over for dinner, dessert & games! This is me getting ready for the upcoming night! Brannon thought it was cute that I was wearing an apron.... I don't see it, but whatever!

Alexis' 1st Day of Kindergarten!
I can't believe that my little girl is in Kindergarten! Actually I can, but it is weird to be dropping her off at "elementary" school. She was so excited to go, and when her teacher came out to line the kids up and take them inside... she got in line and walked into the classroom. I'm glad I caught her prior to getting in line to say goodbye, because I think she would have just walked right in without even a see ya later! I guess I can be glad that I'm not the mom with the child that won't go anywhere without me, but still, a little hug? I'll teach her soon enough! :)
Showing off her backpack! Will she ever let go of the Princess look?
She even found out that some friends from the neighborhood were in her class! She totally loved that!
I'm glad you had a wonderful day sweetheart! Even more glad that you want to go back tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that....oh boy!

Todays Thought
I loved today's thought from Real Simple.
"Wherever you go, go with all your heart!"
— Confucius
What a great reminder to never give up! If you want it, go for it! Keep that in mind today!
